Hi guys, in addition to my ISS army I also would like to start a OCF army too. I’ve prepared a list based around the models and units I like, what do you think? I don’t need it to be super competitive as I don’t mind a few losses here and there, but I don’t want to never win either, is this list feasible at all? (I should also note I was hoping to maybe not include any Morat in my army, despite how good the Rodoks are as I’ve heard) Thanks in advance. The unidron fireteam is really strong, so you can't really go wrong with them. I'd prefer one with plasma sniper rather than missile launcher, but both are good. The rest is pretty solid. I've never been lucky with the Umbra hacker (too many KHDs...) but he's not uncommon. Maybe think again about your groups ? Remember, the Imetron can't change groups, also the 1st group will start at 7 orders (possibly 5 if the opponent uses a command token). I'd switch the ikadrons back in group 1 and leave the surprises in group 2. Also, you'll have to be careful as your fireteam will be the main threat at the beginning, and your lieutenant is a bit obvious for experimented players. And I just notice it now : you don't have HMGs/Spitfires. They are not required but I personnally like their overall effectiveness. Anyway, it's just my point of view, I'm far from being a veteran, so... give it a try and have fun with us ;-)
Thanks man! So I should switch the ikadrons for the fraacta and noctifer? I can see the logic in that cheers! I do have the one HMG on the q drone atm, hopefully the single HMG won’t limit my firepower. Thanks for the advice though man it’s much appreciated!
I would switch them yeah, but there is no 100% truth in this game, so just pick the version you prefer. Or try them both, and you'll see ;-) You have the TR HMG, and he's even more deadly when buffed by a hacker, but if you want to use him actively, don't put him too much up on roofs. I used to do this a lot, and he usually did not survive very long. Now, I try to let him on the ground, in cover, not alone, and seeing a long firelane.
Also, if you play on dense tables, you might want to just save a point and get the plasma rifle version. One less burst, but effectively DA ammo in terms of wounding power... also completely ignoring cover bonuses (both to hit and ARM) if buffed.
