the number of haters is not that big really, its a relatively small group you have to understand that they are not even angry whit the new profile, its just that the Montesa was unique in 2 particular ways (mech deploy and LGL) that were used by some and now are lost, wile there are other knights that have no use and could have served for the upgrade without loosing the old Montesa. After some time they will adapt to the new situation and be fine, if you use to use it a lot it must be more difficult to let go.
Adding to that, there's a couple of semi-salty people in my playgroup who had professionally painted minis. Given spitfire is no longer a profile - unhappiness! This same thing is going to happen every time CB scrubss a model. Proxy rules are nice (I use them a lot myself being to lazy and poor for WYSIWYG) but a lot of people want to use their models as is. Same with the JSA players that are being encouraged to use their defunct models to proxy Tanko's. It's not going to make them happy!
Yeah this update wiped out about 5 of my models as wysiwyg. 4 montessa and 1 Santiago. They'll live on as proxys or as retro profiles amongst friends or who knows what will happen eventually. It's rather sad to see the new MO is basically the Hospitalier Sectorial officially rather than just by matter of fact, though I forsee it having a much better playstyle. It's also rather awkward to see the montessa order "spreading out" is ava 1 everywhere.
Correction, its the Santiago sectoiral. Every army list will have at least 1 if not more. It seem possible to run without Hospillters (but you probably want the doctor).
Hey, I'm also a bit, say... not angry, but sad about my Montesa model from the starter. It was kind of centerpiece and it¨s completely useless now. At least if they did a spitfire profile for the new Montesa bikers, I could use him as dismounted model, but as the rules stand, I can easily throw him out. I did even thought of converting him into GDA, but what the hell should I do with that sword then... and it's too bueautiful to simplycit it out.
This. The new Montessa profile is pretty awesome, actually. Wish I had it in JSA. Hell, there was an April Fools joke that put a Domaru on a bike, with roughly the Montessa profiles, but also with a spitfire. Wish I could find the thread where we were talking about it. I'm wondering why it was the Montessa, and not, say, the Teuton, or the Sepulchre. My objection is Fluff, not Profile.
Don't bother mate. Apparently talking about CB removing units with models entirely is too negative and we're being a bad influence.
Teuton being binned for bikers would have been better but tbh it doesn't bother me personally I appreciate why it irks some.
I bought my SAA starter just before the update. Probably I will just file off the sword and use some putty to change the visor shape, then use him with a spare auxbot as Guarda de Assalto. Am I correct in assuming that it might take quite a while for a bike sculpt to appear? I hope it does not look too much like space marine harley davidsons....maybe some heavy duty (needs to carry an Arm 4 trooper after all) terrain bike like this?
T2 rifle/T2 Marksman rifle existing, just another thing making the ultra-high-tech MULTI rifle obsolete. You can't shoot full burst with DA ammo, that would be OP!! Oh wait...
Overall, I'm almost 100% happy with all the changes PanO have. I like new Montesa biker profile, I'm excited how would the PanOceanian bikes look like (just spare us of Haqqislam chopper style bike, please... hi-tech version of Ariadny style offroad bike would be better, and I wouldn't complain if we had some kind of futuristic racing bike... or, why not, hoverbikes!). I'm just a bit frustrated that I have a new and superb model from Acontecimento starter which I could just flush into the toilet, because he's of no use in ASA now.
As much as losing Profiles that have sculpts sucks, it's good for the game that CB doesn't keep everything on life support no matter what. Basically killing the Montesa and replacing him with something else that in essence only shares a name isn't great for us in a vacuum. But it allows for drastic changes like revamping MO to go into a fundamentally different direction. New Montesas also break a PanO design rule - there previously weren't any BS13 HIs, the Teuton could also benefit a lot from that option being available. Full B DA ammo would be quite good for 4 points. Personally I'd like to see a return of B2 for DA as it was in N2.
I just said so, it's not exactly confirmation. But for example: Tartary Army Corps ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 3 VETERAN KAZAK (Fireteam: Haris) T2 Rifle, Light Flamethrower / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 38) VETERAN KAZAK AP Rifle, Light Flamethrower / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (0 | 37) VETERAN KAZAK (X Visor) T2 Rifle, Light Flamethrower / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (0 | 38) 0.5 SWC | 113 Points Open in Infinity Army Here T2 rifle Vet kazak is 1 pts more than AP rifle Vet kazak, but it has either an X visor, or a Fireteam Haris. Also Tartary Army Corps ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 2 FRONTOVIK T2 Rifle / Assault Pistol, Knife. (0 | 23) FRONTOVIK Molotok / Assault Pistol, Knife. (1 | 30) 1 SWC | 53 Points Open in Infinity Army Molotok and T2 rifle Frontovniks, I don't remember how many points a Molotok is, but my guess is 7 pts on top of a combi rifle.
