It's obviously going to be dependant on terrain, and whether the Hacking is via Repeaters, but once the ARO pieces have been removed, 8-4 MOV and Stealth mean that the Montesa can get into a position to threaten the Hacker directly, much more easily than any other HI in PanO. Hmm, possibly the Swiss, albeit with a lot more Orders, points cost and not being able to do anything to the AC2 once he's got there.
I mean, the fact it can push buttons at all now is a pretty big buff for any of the ITS missions that involve pushing a bunch of buttons (comms center, transmission matrix.)
You miss the LGL, I miss the LRL. But come on man, Spec Fire is a shit mechanic that is mostly useful to exploit another shitty mechanic (LoL). Old Montesa was also heavily dependant on missions and going first. The new one actually does something new. Capable CC with a way to actually get there, effing finally. A highly mobile 2W BSG ranks higher for me than the also excellent Specialist option. Not to mention we get a HI completely without Combi for once. The damn Montesa is how everything should be handled in terms of design. I'm with you that completely dumping the old Profiles is an issue though.
It's not bad, but it's not great (says the guy used to Aragoto Spitfires and/or Combi+LSG) Yeah, it is a cool profile. I'm not sure I like that it was the Montessas that got the change (or that we completely lost the old profiles). Think it might have been better served with a different Knight. Teutons, maybe? Explode worse than the Uprising. I agree, I'm not sure about this change. Not sure that's enough to fix them. Fuel cell/electric, just like Yojimbo's. While I don't disagree, only having AVA1 will be a challenge. I typically lose half my bikes when I take all 6 Aragoto (OK, 4 Aragoto, Celty, and Yojimbo), and that's with a smoke-chucker! No, they were disbanded for creating AIs before the game timeline. Now, the only remaining Templars are in other orders or fugitives: De Fersen is a former Templar in the Hospitaliers, and he's basically stuck into the most dangerous job in the entire military, Combat Rescue, with zero chance of ever leaving it. There explicitly are others, but De Fersen is the only one named. McMurrough was given a Templar sword by a fugitive Templar on a Nomad ship after he was stuck in his DogWarrior form.
Fugitive Templars would be great Mercs, YuJing or Nomad units. Or even CA defectors. Alas, we got a fish for the "merc who hates PanO" .
My heart bleeds for you. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised someone would eventually find a way to complain about getting one of the most optimised profiles in the game.
They stuck the Hacking Visor onto the profile art and made everyone think that it might be something special. Nothing wrong the the Bravos, but it's not what was hoped for.
Bravos may not be Tomcat-tier, but they are pretty good. It's not like people use AD lv3+ all that often anyway. Helots are weird. Limited Camo looks like a waste due to Neurocinetics. I guess the fishboys were given orders "look that way and shoot whatever is not blue". They would be great if they were Regular, but I guess also stupidly expensive. Zulu Cobra seems like one fun profile (Shock Marksman) and the rest are merely ok. Brought down by being only PanO S2 Camo.
They're better than Tomcats in a lot of respects. Remember there's more Tomcat profiles than just Eng/Doc. Bravos compare very favourably against those. 3 TOMCAT Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D.E.P. / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 19) TOMCAT Combi Rifle + E/Mitter, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 20) TOMCAT (Deployable Repeater) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 19)
Oh, don't get me wrong, it's a nice fish, but Templars would just be cooler is all. And PanO's own fish isn't too bad either.
