Extra irreg on Suryats is weird. Their main drawcard is their mixed link and duo options, neither of which would be compatible with this skill. Unless they see a drop in points, I still see them sitting out of most my lists.
I'm gonna laugh my ass off if Sogarats get a rework on par with the Raicho and suddenly become jack of all trades mini-monsters. But I doubt that will happen.
Other things I could see adding to Suryat viability - The Ph14 we've been calling for Grenades to make use of the Ph and, potentially, the Irreg from Tactical Sense Combi option replaced by a K1 Combi Maybe even a buff to Bs14 to put it on par with most YJ and PanO heavies - and to distinguish it a bit more from the Sog Looking at the new Montessa bike (which PanO seem to hate on, for some weird reason), I'm super jealous of that as an option vs our Suryats. Don't get me wrong, I have no interest in adding Bikes to MAF - we're passed the saturation point for motorcycles already - but the thing is so good and so cheap that it makes out expensive, bland HI options even more so. I'll take that Frenzy discount on them any day.

Need to wait for a video about MAF from CB, as right now the change to Suryats doesn't look that appealing to me as a MAF player.
Mate, I'm sorry, but What? Let's suppose they get an extra order at no cost, how is that bad? Even if you only use it to drop onto suppressive before reforming the link later, it's still an extra order! How is an extra order bad? Seriously, let's take a breather and wait for more news before we decide whether the update is good or bad. This is never gonna happen, but I would lay an egg it did. So. Awesome. I mean if it were free that's only ever a good thing. People also seemingly only focus on the usefulness in a link. you can use them out of a core link, you can use other core links... And in late game if you're not getting use out of an extra order because it's in a 5 man link, then bully for you! Clearly the plan is working. If like other mere mortals your team has fallen apart due to some dastardly plot by your opponent in an extremely lethal game then I'm pretty sure you'll appreciate those orders. You'll always find a use for a last turn irregular order to clear a path or lock one down or so your 35-45 pt HI's can scatter to the wind into a variety of quadrants or scoring zones. There is also the added power when the s*** hits the fan that it's probably going to get you out of a spot when paired with the morat rule giving you an even more efficient late game powerhouse.
Well, pretty much what I expected. Can't say this makes Suryats any more appealing. Will have to see the video to see what else was announced EDIT: Rodoks get a Haris, that's pretty cool. Same with Wildcard Raktorak, that'll make Yaogat links more doable. Suryats will be alright in a link but I don't see the Tactical Sense profile being very useful.
Rodok Haris and Raktorak wilcard are pretty great though. I really want to see sogarats get something now, though
Apart from anything else, you can now have a Suryat Fireteam spending 12 Orders in a turn (Raktorak NCO + Suryat Tactical Sense).
It's a sensible choice for +1 order and it's separate to the link options, my only qualm about it is you can't hide your Lt with it
