The video barely scratches the surface of the Special link options. I think that's going to be pretty important.
I really hope that AVA od Video is bugged or something. IF AVA 1 on bulleters and mulebots is ture than it is really bad change for no reason. Same with montesa knight, I guess they should be higher ava in their "home" sectorial. As for Montesa's overhaul, I am bit disappointed. They were great multitool for an attack unit, armed with different interesting weapons, with flavourful and effective mech deployment. Now they seem to be a heavy warband that either go CC or shoot ppl with boarding shotgun. Really bland use out of such cool concept of a unit. Mimetism on them is just for PanO memes also. Paramedic option is the best, wish it had combi instead of shotgun, also where are breaker pistols?
I think it's a different type of unit though, coming from JSA, bike specialists are how you score on turn 2 and especially turn 3. The multi rifle looks like a sweeper piece to me, something you hold for turn2-3 when you can freely take the impetuous order. It also makes up for the fact that Montesas no longer get partial cover and lost a BS.
Tikbalang + Rao link! For reasons! Machinist with Bagh Mari sounds nice, you can bring along an engineer to repair that Tikbalang.
If Rao gets CoC (he still might!) then that becomes godly, pulling a WIP 14 specialist along with the best murder-machine in SAA.
The bike's very different from the previous Mech Deploy Montessa, but gives us a very unique and much needed unit. We've never had order-efficient anti-materiel, which is really important in some missions. We're also bad at threatening the enemy DZ, which has changed a lot now thanks to the bike.
If they can special with Bagh the multi sniper does just fine as a defensive ARO piece. To be honest I would use the core as an offensive link
I'd rather take two Bulleteers than the Montessa Bike, it even got a Spitfire! ;) The specialist is handy of course, but if I want a fast template there also is the Peacemaker, which gets the job done just fine and yeah if I want the specialist there is always the Pathfinder. Guess to each their own, but I rather stick to the Remotes and keep the old AVA. Fingers crossed they fix it tomorrow!
I don't know if I like the Aragoto comparisons. To me, the spitfire Aragoto is basically a missile you shoot at something to dangerous to invest more expensive units in, which the Montesa doesn't do now. I think the specialist Montesa will play basically like Kuroshi Rider or the Aragoto specialists, hang back turn one and go press all of the buttons on turns 2-3 once you can safely take the impetuous order, with the added bonus of having 2 real wounds and an army that doesnt have a ton of issues with getting out of the DZ. I'm not sure how I would describe the Multi Rifle Montesa, it looks the most interesting to me, but I don't see any way to use it except to punish bad deployment or hunt fragile units left in the midfield.
It seems perfectly suited for flank raids into enemy DZ. Especially paired with something that can punch a hole through enemy defenses, like Dragao or Tik. TAG removes ARO piece or two, knight uses the opening, either kills something else or enters SF in a good position. Perfect distraction.
So what do we know so far. Montessa got junked, and pretty heavily shat on anyone that owns The minis. They arent even appropriate proxies goven the brand new weapons loadouts. The tikbalang duo is also practically worthless, you want your tags spread out to control things. Orc core is interesting and ill give it a go. Rao special regular special we dont know enough about yet but im skeptical Oh and all the interesting ava got ripped out. Wow they tool the most flavorful PanO sectorial and rebuilt it.....as a generic pano sectorial. well done CB that takes effort Edit and yes im undeniably bitter, so what
Funny, how there isn't a single weapon they share. Except for the chain colt. Not even the pistols. Or CCW. You are at the right place, welcome to the Pano forums! :D
