If I've got the models ID'd correctly, WYSIWYG would be this: Military Orders ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 JOAN OF ARC Lieutenant MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, AP CCW. (+1 | 49) KNIGHT HOSPITALLER HMG / Pistol, AP CCW. (2 | 41) KNIGHT HOSPITALLER Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 33) KNIGHT HOSPITALLER Combi Rifle / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 33) KNIGHT HOSPITALLER Doctor (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 37) BLACK FRIAR (Albedo, Biometric Visor L1) MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser, Drop Bears / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 28) CRUSADER MULTI Rifle + Light Flamethrower / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 31) ORDER SERGEANT Heavy Rocket Launcher / Assault Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 15) SPEC. SERGEANT Combi Rifle + AUXBOT_1 / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 17) AUXBOT_1 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4) SPEC. SERGEANT Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21) 4 SWC | 305 Points Open in Infinity Army If you change the Specialist Sergeant Hacker to a KHD, that puts you at 300pts exactly. So the only change I'm expecting is for Order Sergeants to get a KHD option.
I'm hoping for a Knight + OS mixed Haris (literally take you pick of Knights, even FK). Maybe a Clipper in a link (the ML version rather than the GML). CoC on Sepulchre, or Stratego 1. AVA 2 Fugazi... Superjump on Auxbot. Spec Sgt with KHD and repeater'd Auxbot would be awesome. (Honestly, Knights with Auxbots would be awesome too)
KHD on a basic trooper would be a firs time isn' it ? Maybe we can expect a cost drop of sergent and crusader. And if you have Haris Koths could disguise as a haris of some kind (at least until deployment end). Or you can hide it as a fusiliers hacker ... Point and swc cost could lead your opponent to think you have a to sniper ... Sure that is not as good as in OSS. Still an option.
I would definitely love to see the spitfire shaken up to a red fury and it would make sense given all the shasvasti running around. I'm of a mind that a multisniper profile could do wonders for their dz problem and make them a unique knight profile.
A sniper knight would definitely be an interesting approach, but I don't thing Santiagos are the Order to introduce it. Fluff-wise, they're Marines, so their primary combat focus is the CQB and boarding assault. And in the rules it translates into loadouts well suited for closer range. I'd prefer all heavy weapons in the squad suited for the unit's role, especially in PanO, as our units lean more towards specialization, than toolbox. Otherwise we're getting a unit that is all around the place, like Bolts. Sepulchre Order, on the other hand...
I think a multi sniper rifle works with their concept given its antimaterial mode and could help them during the boarding process in space. Imagine the Santiagos passing by on the outside of a ship and cross a window. The sniper blows out the window and they jump in. Or perhaps running along the exterior they get into a firefight with other space fighters. Not all ships in infinity are necessarily cramped corridors. Nomad home ships, docking areas, long corridors and any other number of possible areas where a sniper rifle could come in handy. But if not, then if the FK gets wildcard they would have a missile launcher...
I'm not convinced about the interiors - If in need of a long range fire I'd rather take Marksman Rifle, presumably the Multi one. Special ammo, good burst and range, lower damage means a lower chance of making a hole in a bulkhead or window that shouldn't have one. Snipers would work wonders on the outside, though. Talk about breaking long range sniping records when you don't have to worry about air friction.
Well, if the new info from the RPG is anything to go by I'd actually say that the Santiago Knights might be the most likely place for a Killer Hacking Device to show up. But, then, it would also suggest that they might pick up an Engineer too so... As far as the changes for this box are concerned, I still think that Order Sergants are going to see a pts drop and maybe also the Crusader.
I also hope teuton and sepulcher get touched with a rework now, because otherwise they wont see one till n4 and beyond
I really don't know why some people want changes on Santiago Knights. They are thematic and work great in mid range distances (also long if you add missile launcher magister). They have great tools for boarding and CQB. Saying that Hospitaliers are automatically better seems to me like very simplistic thinking.
Santiago are a very meta and board dependent choice. Their only special weapon is the spitfire which is a great weapon out to 24" but will not help them on open boards with strong fire lanes. The Hospitaliers not only have access to the spitfire through both DeFerson and Joan but have the HMG for further reach. Specialists is another area where hospitaliers have an advantage with a full doctor over a paramedic and a wip 14 AHD although problematic. Hospitaliers have an edge in defense with ph14 and bts 6 and are slightly cheaper with BS at 4 points less and combi at 6 points less. Santiago are absolutely brutal at close quarters as the difference between MA 1 and 2 is fairly negligible, but em grenades and nanopulsers are absolutely brutal in the right situation especially in a fireteam. The 360 visor means that nobody can try and engage them one at a time from behind and let's them operate dangerously close to the opponents side of the table. The problem is they still have to get there. This is why Hospitaliers are generally considered a superior option do to their general usefulness rather than the Santiago's very focused approach.
Hopefully when tomorrow comes we will get some more info as to what changes are inbound for the Military Orders.
Not sure. They said they are going to present what is in the book. But they may just say "Hey we reworked MO. It's gonna be amazing. Wait until next month for Army update. You won't believe it."
So the montesa rework gave them everything i wanted in the mechanized deployment version. But took away the spitfire that the new profile would have loved. The paramedic is however one hell of a fast and deadly specialist.
I'm going to miss these two profiles: 2 KNIGHT OF MONTESA Combi Rifle + Light Grenade Launcher, Chain-colt / Breaker Pistol, Shock CCW. (1 | 48) KNIGHT OF MONTESA Combi Rifle + Light Rocket Launcher, Chain-colt / Breaker Pistol, Shock CCW. (0.5 | 50) 1.5 SWC | 98 Points They were unique especially on a Knight.
I'd go so far as to say that the loss of these profiles is a significant hit to the strength of Acontecimento and Vanilla PanOceania. The LGL in particular, in my mind. But perhaps something else is stepping into that design space, with the MO re-work. . . . That, however, would be nice...
