Tall order, to call something more OP than the Ghazi XD Been saying the Greeks are losing ground each time a sectorial gains a mixed fireteam option and wildcards. Tell me where are the advantage in Enomotarchos now? Single Thorakitai link (despite having 10 models counting the characters) because the cost of a second is not payable (SWC or points) plus if the pointman dies you can't reform (trasimedes or alke or Hector), and nearly single/double Myrm link options (Machaon + Phoenix, and then something between Chain Rifle/Spitfire It's been mislabeled in the renders too... and in the dossier, I think... It looks more like an HMG, though, I agree. Then again, I'm used to Aleph/Nomad Feuerbachs, with huge fins around the mouths.
While I agree on the situation with you, I disagree that previous fireteam should be reviewed and brought up to par with the current hotness. You just won't be able to keep up and you're only going to raise the bar higher and higher with time, and raise crazy hopes (remember what flexibility people were expecting of the Yadu ?) I think CB should be more cautions and avoid the "Almost everybody counts as securitate" and "Vet Kazak can go litteraly in any fireteam". Or at least keep these for very specific niche / specialists profiles.
Removing "character enomotarchos tax", for example, would alleviate a lot the problem. Just give it for free to base Thoras and Myrms, leave the rest as is. An "NCO" was asked a lot for the Thorakites. Now it's a skill that does something different... They could make use of such a profile, however (NCO that also has Enomotarchos, and it's not a character).
I wouldn't agree with that, but mostly for fluff reasons, as I see the Phalanx as an army led by its leaders not its officers, while sometimes they are both. Thrasymedes who is more of a secret ops guy leading a fireteam is a prime example of this. Ajax while being a great fighter would perhaps be a questionable commander. But As I said, these are fluff considerations, and I don't mind bending these here and there for gamplay balance and comfort. You know I agree 110% with you on that one, and will do nothing more than write this line in the hope CB staff discusses & considers it.
I really hope those are just typos. Losing extra bulleter, mulebot and palbots for no reason will be a huge bummer.
@Koni : Is the WIP difference between mounted Montesa and dismounted Montesa a typo or really what it should be?
So in regards to the pre order: is that CB store only or are other online retailers likely to have it available? Specifically UK online retailers.
Just as a point of note: those bikes are ridiculously good. Template, shotgun, mimetism, BS 13, two wounds, at that speed for that cost? And a specialist? That's immense.
For some reason, I have it in my head that models on bikes cannot have stealth. Is this just wishful thinking on my part?
I've managed to get my hands on quite a few preorder goodies with CB products with my local retailer even out here in the States with little trouble. The only thing I've had grief with was trying to get this year's gencon bundle outside of the CB store, which was mostly communication troubles with their distributor. As for online retailers, well I don't have any experience with that the preorder mini's, I'd probably send a message to them first as most infinity products clearly label if you're getting your bonus or not so there's no guessing game if the guys just take a look at their stock. But they're usually available to CB's retailers.
It's sexy, but doesn't seem like it fits the jungle aesthetic (imo). I'm hoping for something quad-like, or at least a big ass dirt bike.
Montesa on a Montesa is quite an icing on the cake for MO newcomers like me. I do hope some kind of trial or motocross bike. As I intended in the video we don't have to expect an upcoming model though, are there any words about it? Should be it, I will surely allow gals to enter knighthood, this beauty here is almost waifu grade (and Penthesilea was already my gateway to Steel Phalanx)
For what it's worth, most of Acontecimento is rolling plains. The jungles are basically used to train troops for Paradiso rather than being the main type of environment on the planet.
I can't think of a single thing that the experts on the forum cried "OP" or power creep that after a couple months has continued to be that way. Ghazi's remain the most packed profile on the planet, and they were released aaaaaages ago. Krakots were good when they came out. Now, some people always use them, some people sometimes use them. YMMV.
