Nice to see that aside from "Infinity fanbois" there are also woke people here, ready to enlighten the masses about wicked CB ways. AVA 1 unit with low stats, short range weapons, one-off marker state. Good at dodging, can survive one hit unless it's Shock/DA/EXP. Cheap, but Irregular. Yeah. Unit with more power than Ghazi. Power creep as hell. /s
Assuming USARF aren't already there. And assuming they need a narrative excuse to hiatus Caledonians. Which seems pretty far off, and assumes USARF aren't the ones lined up for the SKU gods to nibble on. And assumes that CB don't figure out a long term fix to the problem. That last one does seem most likely given some baffling SKU waste with some recent releases. Did we really need a jammer heckler? Do we really need tinbots in every second HI box?
Sheesh, dismissive much? Also, while this 1 model is a tad bit optimized, I don't see it as part of a pattern. What release in OSS or TAK is equally as optimized? 1 overly optimized model with limited in game potential =/= power creep.
Not as dismissive as someone who wants "tournament cred". :) So you missed the whole discussion about Dart, huh? The Hecklers? Frontoviks? "Long term fix to the problem" is one that's been talked about time and time and time again here. They need to change their thinking on how they release items. No more "6 models only" starter sets. No more "Special Weapons" boxes with no alternate weapons in them. No more single model blisters that they know(and let's be honest here, they darned well do or at least should know it) they'll just have to repack later. We did need a Heckler Jammer, since it's the first non-Ghazi Jammer. That said? It should have been released in a boxed set or triple(quadruple if you count the Fast Panda as a model, which you shouldn't be since it's a piece of gear for the Heckler Jammer) blister rather than one Heckler+Fast Panda. It should have came out with at least the Boarding Shotgun+E/Marat or Red Fury.
I mentioned the LI one since it showes that Ariadna might work better than people on forums generally suggest. I also finished third in a 40 ppl tournament without LI. But you don’t care about that anyways. Your argument: you think that some skills constitute a power creep based on nothing but your feeling, I tell you that I don’t see this translating to anything for competetive ITS and then you tell me that you don’t care about tournament cred. To me thats on the level as saying „this new car is faster because it is painted red“. I tell you it wasn’t faster in the latest races and you tell me that obviously it is faster and you dont care about race experience. Great.
Jeez, judging from here you would think this 8 point irregular BS11 guy who can't shoot over 8 inches is somehow breaking the meta. Any type of forward deploying camo token is going to be decent, but it isn't the end of the world. he may be "optimized" but that doesn't always mean he's going to be effective or useful. You wanna talk about optimized, look at the Palbot. guy has no weapons to bloat the profile, now thats unfair.
Nope, I don't. Because tournaments are inherently flawed representations of games. People are going to bring heavily optimized lists. Limited Insertion just makes it more obvious--and you mentioned "vanilla Ariadna" suggests that you didn't think you could play a LI with Ariadnan Sectorials. And this is a wonderful misrepresentation of an argument. Where's Stiopa to tell you to knock that off? If you cannot understand that a less bloated, streamlined profile using known problematic interactions(Frenzy discount, SMG points formula) is power creep when compared to profiles that aren't written with those problematic interactions factored in?
I'm more shocked that Montesa lost the Spitfire option! Now I can't even use the new model as a dismounted one haha.
Yeah, I bought one recently to paint in Varuna colors and now I don't know what to do with him. I might just proxy him as the dismounted option and paint him anyway but we'll see That's it they even make a model for these guys, otherwise I'm not sure what I'll do
Did they have to completely kill the foot unit? Seems kinda contrary to things saying stuff will still be playable.
Man, it starts near the center of the table... "short range" is not *that* short when you have enemies inside your ZoC!!! And the DEP is an EXP, 1 shot ARO killer. Plus, "disposable troop". 8 points of irregular troop... Look Krakot. Look Starco Vs Corregidor. I could keep digging, but *shrug. Or look at the Montesa. Funny how the first HI motorized troop is neither Japanese (famous bikers) nor YJ (famous HI) but PanOceanian MO (famous TAGs...). Also, with TAK now I can spend ALL my orders discovering enemy units without clearing much of the field... It was a bother to face Shasvastii, but at least those tended to go 10 models tops, now its whack-a-mole with double the units I might be able to field *sigh Box of Hecker Jammer + Hekler Red Fury (or the hacker from the starter, but dunno what could they have placed there) + fastpanda. Mind you, I'm no fan of the Fastpandas (it's just a Repeater you place wherever at 20cm walking distance from the carrier). Mary Problems + Perseus + Heckler Jammer is a box I would dig ASAP, however. I'd say he means that the package those skills come in, as a group, points to power creep. Specially in cheap platforms anybody can deploy easily. You can still dismount... It's just that they now go running everywhere! XD Seriously, now. There are other foot units, and I assume they did so to leave space for the Orcs, specially for that "SPECIAL" link option!
Don't forget option three: Endlessly troll the forums about it, threadshitting every news thread so heavily any other interesting discussion gets drowned out by negativity and cynicism, with no moderation relief in sight.
New Acon stuff looks neat. Hoping for the best for orcs poor guys need something going for em. Knight biker looks nasty. Mimetism basically removes his impetuous penalty. Shame about the spitfire, but it should hopefully be easy to use him as a knight that does get a spitfire.
