That's not really enough points. Drop a Salzy and grab a Grenzer / Securitate Core + Clockmaker.

You don't bother repairing the TAGs, you just use the second one!

Obviously this is not a particularly serious list, but it is fun

A haris with Multi rifle, HMG and a tinbot Hollow man isn’t actually bad in hunting party albeit very situational.

Grenzers in core links more than make up for not having MSV2 for me, and with White Noise and smoke, MSV2 would have been a big surprise.

Personally I think Tunguska is ace, it feels different from the other Nomad Sectorals and Vanilla, it's weird and unusual, and it has a lot of very cool options.

Which is kinda also what causes the negative reaction. It doesn't feel like Nomads, so a lot of the habits you've built up don't apply.

Personally I think this is a good thing, I'm just not sure it's for me (yet). Two Zeroes and two Morlocks is my happy place.

It's much the same reason I look at NCA or MO lists and go 'yeah, it's good but...'.

What I do think the current state of Nomads (inc. StarCo) means, though, is you can play pretty much every style with variations without starting a second faction (except Impersonation head hunter lists).

I think Tunguska has some really sweet and interesting units I really want to try out but the sectoral is pretty far outside my comfort zone.
How did they do at the IP tournament?

THIS. It would really soften the whole dichotomous "can my army do the smoke trick or not" problem since it makes MSV 1 much more useful.

Na, we are all objective. ;) But, to be honest, Nomads have better CC options. And having just one guy who really shines as fireteam support doesn't feel right.

Not saying I'm being objective. Leaving a target with 3 BS on that last video was perfectly sufficient to kill my Intruder and that's pretty much regular for me, but I'm not gonna say Intruders can't win F2F. If he's losing at CC it's not his stats.

    Who are you thinking of?

Bran is better only due to Surprise Attack. Otherwise they're exactly the same.

Chimera is worse, until you factor in Pupniks. Then it's probably one of the best CC troops in the game; but dies easily and doesn't bring the other options that Percy does.

Raoul is worse (although arguably not vs stuff effected by EM).

Massacre and McMurder are better, but they're CJC only. So don't actually compete.

Bandits are worse, albeit Surprise Attack claws some of that back.

TMs are worse. But ARM5 and 2 Wounds covers a lot of sins.

Morlocks and Jags are both worse. Although the cost offsets that somewhat.

OTOH I struggle to see what role he has in Vanilla Nomads. As a source of smoke and 0SWC attack option in LI I can see myself using him, but otherwise Uberfalls/Bandit + Jaguar seems like more my style.

He's the only CC capable guy we have who is very lethal in a straight up fight though, and Breaker is an underrated as an ammo type. With super jump, smoke, cc ability, great mid range shooting, durability that's rare in the faction and such he's a fantastic datatracker in many missions.

More and more this seems like an intentional choice for Sectorials. Onyx, Tunguska, Operations all fit the bill in one way or another. Is there any Sectorial that gets access to all 3 (reliably, OperationS can get smoke through their 2 ABHs on an off chance gamble)?

StarCo only, and in very limited options (one character source of WN, one MSV2 profile)

None, if I'm not mistaken. Especially White Noise is rare. And on the whole only 1/3 of current sectorials has access to Smoke+MSV2

edit: Ninja'd by Solar. Ah yes, forgot about NA2.

I'm also a bit at a loss for what to do with Perseus in Vanilla. He has a nice toolkit, but so far it seems like a square peg round hole issue. I don't really want to take him as a solo attack piece, because my gut says he can't punch out too far, and it's a bit order intensive to get him where he needs to go in order to be effective. If I'm just looking for smoke, then there are cheaper or more interesting options. Thus far, it seems he just doesn't fulfill enough roles for me to be able to fit him in a list.

I think the Zondnautica is a really good alternative to him in Vanilla. The mobility really makes a huge difference to me, and the bike opens up all sorts of interesting attack options. @Solar makes a good point though, Perseus could be a pretty interesting DataTracker, but I'm likely to throw that token onto a Kriza or Taskmaster Lt. Dunno. Full disclosure, I'll have to try Perseus out to really be able to comment.

I use and love Myrmidon Officers and he's a little better due to breaker and superjump but not being a specialist removes the excuse to move him out in the first place. I would probably use Perseus under some circumstances but a lot of them I'd rather take an Intruder Combi for a short ranged f2f guy.

Maybe you shouldn't need a reason to pick Tunguska over Bakunin?

I know I'm probably the odd man out here, but I don't like playing Bakunin. I don't enjoy the expensive nuns and extra expensive nun hackers. I don't like spamming moderators and morlocks for orders to pay with 2 or 3 attack pieces. I never really got comfortable with how Bakunin plays. I can turn it around and ask why play Bakunin and not Vanilla? The only links I really like are GRRLs, and the extra Zero AVA can be made up with Hecklers/Bandits/Morans?

There certainly are Bakunin units I love in vanilla, Swast, Morlocks, Zeros, primarily.

I enjoy Tunguska a lot, it doesn't surprise me that other people would feel differently. I enjoy the units, I enjoy the fluff, I enjoy the different play challenges. Its a puzzle that I enjoy solving, whether it is more powerful, weaker, or more of the same, I think the jury is still out and we need more data.
