That's the exact problem. The hell is bricked with good intentions. We have had poor working condition, someone tried to solve it and suddenly we woke up in Holodomor.
Nah man, never happened. /s Trust me communism brings only good (if a body pile to make the EI blush is "good") -Source: Ex-soviet block resident.
you didn't hear? They released a teaser image in mcdonalds colors and now we're yelling about communism
Yeah, hundreds of interviews with doctors from a Communist paradise were the final nail in the coffin for me...
From their webpage: "The Foundation's basic purpose is to disseminate and promote the study and knowledge about the life, thought, legacy and work of Francisco Franco Bahamonde, in its human, military and political dimension". Can you imagine a Foundation like that for Hitler? That's what we've got in Spain.
It is funny how we don't use North Korea or Congo as examples of Republics or democratic processes. I'm very certain no one is arguing Stalinism/Leninism is anything worthy of aspiring for, but those are also not what we've been discussing.
Well Nazism in Germany was also introduced by "democratic" means afaik. Yet some people celebrate the release of Lenin from prison^^
Not "democratic" but democratic. And (mostly) legal. It's the nature of democracy that it contains the tools to destroy itself. Incidentally, the national socialists didn't drop "socialist" just because they murdered their inconvenient socialist party members. A phenomenon psychologists find very interesting. There's of course more to be said on the topic, but let's not.
The only people that go on and on about how great Cuba is are the foreigners that visit and get the royal treatment
you don't even know what is it, right? funny to see such regard to the communists, even in a fictional universe, where they happens to be even worse than nazi-japanese, collaborating with terrorists it seems CB does not even hope to enter the chinese market, unfortunately
Oh, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww :puke: I'm sorry I asked. They could have done pretty well, up until the Uprising. I mean, a Greater China, consisting of all their old client states and even strong enough to buy out Japan? How could that not be what the current Chinese government would approve of? And it's mostly the actions of PsychoCrane that would prevent their successful entry into the Chinese market now. The Japanese being ungrateful duplicitous [ insert pejoratives here ] and attempting to revolt would have flown fine, IMO. Whether the revolt being successful would be an issue is a question I don't have enough Mainland friends to guess at. It certainly might. Or it could be played off as about what you'd expect from the Japanese (in Chinese eyes).
At the risk of going off-topic ( or perhaps at this point it is the topic? ) Communism can and has worked. The key is everyone involved has to enter into the system willingly and have a common philosophical thread to bind them together. It only takes a handful of a-holes to throw the whole thing into a terrible dystopia. That is why I have never heard of a functional commune over a 100ish people The beauty of a democratic system is the ability to elect the average uninformed slob into a position of power and then boot them out in few years when they figure out how to game the system. The sheer massive bureaucratic stupidity makes it difficult to get anything done. You end up with a massively inefficient government of low-level corruption and incompetency, but rarely does it blow up into full blown evil. ( rarely, not never. ) It is the governance of mediocrity. As the saying goes, the worst form of government is democracy, the only thing worse is everything else. I might be a tad bit pessimistic about anything involving larger groups of humans.
