Gotta love Shotguns on Camo/TO Infiltrators. Deploy half across the board, have Stealth and Marker State to get into position and stack MODs completely into your favour against a cluster of enemies. If you get a Shotgun on top of a Minelayer or Specialist things get ridiculous. Saito Togan is similar as he has that insane damage potential thanks to his CC and Smoke on top of being a Specialist. Other members of that selected group are the Naga Minelayer and ofc the Posthuman MK2 AHD. The sole reason I still take Oniwabans in JSA (and in fact take them over Shinobu) is their BSG doing so much work against the targets their CC isn't great against.
yep, its going to pay heavy for the options, but the red fury will be cheaper than if it has a spitfire and a LRL is not that expensive. I hope that if he is a LI it will get to low 30 points in the cool profiles, but is still too early, who knows
I'm interested to see what kind of new/outside the box options come in on the Zulu Cobras and Echo Bravos.
For sure, but to me it seems like they're loading up Varuna units with weapons and visual mods. I expect him to be on the elite side as far as AD troopers go. 30 points for a basic profile sounds about right to me. jammers!
Well, we know that one... but we haven't seen anything too radical for the Echo Bravos yet, beyond that general variation from "regular" PanO with HRL/LRL/Red Fury.
eh, to be honest I'd be content with these weapons and a visual mod. call it a day. Perhaps the first -6 AD trooper????
You mean something like this? Tartary Army Corps ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 2 STRELOK (Minelayer) Boarding Shotgun, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21) STRELOK (Forward Observer) Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 20) 0.5 SWC | 41 Points Open in Infinity Army Against what CC24, MA4, Monofilament ccw out of a surpsie attack isn't enough??
Against a group of cheap LI, the template can take them out quicker than individually chopping them up, mono CCWs aren't great against relatively unarmoured 1W targets (or rather they're just as good, but the shotgun has better odds).
It's significantly less efficient against cheerleader links, depending on how spread out they are. It's risky against other units with similar CC values, even after figuring in surprise mods, especially if they have Sixth Sense (it's really hard against Steel Phalanx, for example.)
Updating older troops to the current version of the formula is mentioned directly in one of the recent videos. Although that might have been Bostria, so take it with a grain of salt.
I know these kind of stuff are a lot easier from the outside than when you actually have to do it, and shitty architecture can make trivial changes ridiculously hard, but this kind of stuff sounds like an excel sheet or a python script. You have some input data for skill/weapon/stat costs, you have another set of data with troop profile descriptions, you press f5, magic happens, and you have your excel sheet/json/xml with the raw data with updated troop profiles for army.
The bolded text requires someone to have set up the 'magic happens' stage, which is... not straightforward. It's also ignoring the profiles PDFs, as Army isn't the only thing that would need to be updated...
Bostria said there would be tweaks in an update of Army towards the end of the year It all got blown a bit out of proportion
Update of pointcosts reflecting current pointformula. A few new Faction/Sectorial specific Profiles like the Ninja FO. SAA Update along the lines of MRRF as parting gift. These have been confirmed as part of the November Update. It's not gonna be a big rebalance of the entire game, but it is still going to be a major update that impacts a lot of stuff.
