Orc Troops in Fusilier fireteams Kamu able to join any fireteam [wildcard I guess] Knight of Montesa BIKERS. Yes, BIKERS. And an Orc character named Patsy Garnett an NCO Orc who can join all fireteams, again I guess wildcard. Enter the Snake-eaters.
If any if this is true, Varuna sounds incredible. The makeup of the starter box makes a lot more sense now too... It's basically functioning as the SWC box for Kamau, with Kamau combis not being very necessary since this degree of linkability would put Kamau in mixed links all the time. ORCs in linetrooper links is great. We discussed that recently. BS17 ORC HMG for 84 points is almost Vet Kazak levels of awesome. Montessa bikes is so mind blowing it makes me doubt the validity of this...
Montesas on bikes boys! It's happening! All we can do is pray they come to Acon as well (likely.) Montesas as bikers is super thematic too in terms of fluff, it's a great and natural fit, imo. It appears to be real as it's being featured in GTM.
Strange but article seems to be adamant on the topic. We will see (I wonder if all profiles will get bike). Also wonder if they will lose Mech. Deployment, as Mech Deployment bike with 2 W seems.... bit good...
Came here to see if this had been posted, and to share it myself if it hadn't been yet. I think this all sounds awesome. Only remotes in the Fireteams would make me happier. So my ongoing quest to manage my excitement basically ended today...
The problem is more that the Vet Kazak is very cheap for the punch he packs rather than the ORC being costly. ORC itself is a good troop, really.
Some more stuff from what I can decipher. "Varuna Immedeate Reaction Division also includes the Mechanized Cavalry, the PanOceanian standard TAG, but with Fireteam Duo that will be more used by other units able to hoin that Fireteam with two Squalos." So they specifically mention Wildcards can join the TAG duo. I'd also assume the Squalo gets a new Profile as a result of Duo capability. "Orc Troops, a PanOceanian core unit, is there too, but with some additions to fit with the operational behaviour of this army and being able to join the Fusiliers' Fireteams, where you can find Fusilier Bipandra." So Fusiliers, Bipandra and Orcs able to join Linetrooper Links. Together with the ususal REMs that also makes Varuna pretty comfortable in the Order monkey department. "the Helots, aboriginal aliens from Varuna, make their appearance as militia with a rear-guard support role and a bunch of interesting skills." Still vague, but we'll see. Just imagine really quick that Montesas on Bikes could be keeping their Assault for 14" Move + CC.Attack (with their current CC and CCWs that is niche but still - lol).
It's unlikely. Background-wise, AI Motorcycles are not just specific to Nomads, or even to Tunguska, but to a specific organisation within Tunguska.
