No, and it starting to feel like a joke now that people are buying coldront in stores. I now know without a doubt that preordering as soon as preorder start is not enough to be delivered on time
Not for Coldfront - ordered mine at my FLGS - but I did for Dart and the Advance box. It arrived at my place in Australia today, three days after it got posted in Spain. Admittedly, the only shipping method that was available was DHL Courier, and I live in both a state capital and a major shipping port, so I could expect it to be faster than your typical international order down here to the Southern Hemisphere (anywhere between 1-2 weeks to 8-12 weeks, depending), but three days? Holy shit.
I ordered mine direct from CB the day they went up for preorder. That's why I'm rather irritated. Since once they do ship it's gonna take like a month to get here. Kinda defeats the purpose of preordering if I'm the last to get it. -_-
Some one has to be last, and the pre order advantage is guaranteeing the free mini. [Just general comments] The distributor orders get sent first because there is at least two extra steps in the chain there (distributor-> FLGS->customer vs just customer) and due to the volume ordered it is going to take time to send them. It's not like the pick and pack and casting guys have sat idle, it's been non stop for them Lastly, this happens every pre order, for exactly the same reasons. Also, It can't be "late" since CB never gave a firm date.
Pre-ordered direct from CB and still waiting for my pre-order + advance pack + Dart :( If it was just Coldfront I was after then I could have it this weekend by ordering from Element Games [they still have the once with the wardriver] which is a little frustrating.
You could almost say that preorders were left ... .... on cold. (yes I know I should feel bad for this pun) (if only my cold-front had arrived ;( )
Huh, mine shipped a day later and arrived on the same day, in Brisbane. This is the fastest I've ever gotten an international package, particularly from Europe!
Still waiting for mine too... But is nice to know that when i finally get a shipping notice that it delivery will be fast.
I think mine was something like 18h from CB to the middle of england, i'm not sure i've had faster from internal post!!
Third parties have to wait for gencon exclusives if they offered thed, its this way every year. And still a great opportunity worth the wait
I'm still waiting for my ColdFront box. Did any of you guys receive it yet. I'm starting to get worried a bit.
Mine's supposed to be here Monday. While waiting is hard, we might all be in a worse situation if they didn't do preorders. For a small company, making 1,000 of something that people are going to want 10,000 of and the reverse are both very bad, and can really damage a small company.
So can them not delivering product on time. So can them doing convention exclusives year after year and still failing to realize they'd probably do just as well making the "convention exclusive" products general release or available through standard sales channels.
