You can proxy as you'd like, as others have mentioned. And, well, you might feel it should have been MO, but 1) there are certainly a decent number of players who'd disagree with you and 2) the designers decided that it makes sense for it to be SAA.
Yeah, but it might as well be repacked as a standalone. I've seen the first ever zero repacked with an N3 zero so I'm already expecting everything from CB. Anyways, all the Knights look the same to me (XD).
We knew about this possibility since months, the whole "Acontecimento Explodes" thing on the calendar wasn't even close to April's fools. Player numbers from ITS also don't say much about related sales for old Sectorials like SAA. They might be scraping the bottom of the barrel and this might have been a plain and simply business decision. Also they're not gone, just on hiatus till probably N4. Maybe indefinite, maybe not, we'll see about that. Apart from what was already said by @barakiel we're not losing anything, if you want to start playing them get the boxes that are going OOP. If you already play them you're aware they're PanO's best Sectorial. And you get your new and shiny update in less than a month, while everyone else has to wait for November. We're looking at Rao, Singh and every Bagh with a Combi+LSG dropping by 2 points anyway. That much should be very likely. Which brings us to the real question - who is getting new Profiles? Rao and Singh seem likely. If Rao will inherit Singh's CoC that alone would be huge. If that Profile is available in Vanilla as well we're looking at finally being able to run aggressive Lts in Vanilla PanO. Maybe the stupid 0.5 SWC Tax on Regular FOs finally disappears. Maybe Akalis stop being the godawful bland default BS13 Mi with E/M CCWs they are now. I don't actually have any expectations towards links. What I am dead certain is that SAA will have updated Orcs (without the Varuna exclusive Profiles), who coincidentially would also be a good candidate for mixed Links with Baghs or Regulars. If someone decides it's a good idea to let us put Baghs into Regulars, this is going to be quite silly. The best thing about the whole thing is a good chance for 0 negative changes for a Sectorial that is already in a good place (well, better place than the rest of PanO).
I could see this happening, but it will probably be omitted from vanilla. While I would hope they do something with this, I don't think they want to change vanilla very much. really at most I think we'll see changes of options/points cost rather than skills and equipment as a whole. Link changes are a very real possibility, although to be honest I cannot think of a mixed link or something like that, that would greatly excite me. maybe a doctor or an ALEPH support unit jammed into a mixed link?
Guys please. Miniatures production will stop, nothing else, all of you who have the models wills till have the models, Acontecimento does not leave, the profiles are not banned or anything, and with the quite generous proxy rules new players who happen to not have the models can proxy them while they wait Acontecimento inevitable return down the line. Plus you may get a minor update and quality of life like MRRF. @kanluwen what has NA2 to do with production rotation? it is not a "you have to many sectorials" its a "too many products" situation, been NA2 or not changes nothing.
Yeah so I'm totally fine with this. SAA feels like a completed army and is in a good spot and strong this season. I'm not losing anything, I have all the models I need/want. If there was something i didnt have I could just proxy it. The only thing I'd want is a new GDA model. Happy to see some cool new units. Sorry outraged people sucks to be you.
If it's true, ground zero on company suicide. Put me in the screencap. If it's not true, I hope said troll finds all dropped miniatures and bits with his bare feet.
When they piss and moan about "too many sectorials"(which they did--the claims are that there's too many sectorials that they have to produce for a given faction), them going to NA2 changes a lot. Especially when they dump the chaff. Do we really need all these different Orders of Knights?
This "I got mine" attitude is completely self centered and elitist with no thought to newbies. I have the range and I still think this is a bad move. You now have to drop a few hundred dollars if you want to get these models before they're discontinued in short time.
Companies drop product lines all the time. Whether it's car companies, tech companies, miniature companies... Plenty of things no longer get supported, and it's definitely not suicide.
Did you honestly expect this to go any other way? No offense meant to you in particular, or any one individual. Did anyone in the meeting when this decision was made feel it'd be welcomed with open arms? You guys aren't naive. I'm sure you have your reasons, but sharing them with us would be a nice gesture.
Just like an engine malfunction in a plane doesn't mean its destruction. It's gonna be some time until it hits the ground. We'll see.
We went through this exact community reaction with MRRF. A month later, noone noticed or cared. As for sharing the decision, or communicating them to new players... What do you think is happening right now? The idea behind getting these announcements out is so that players can plan accordingly. It's not like men in masks are coming to your house to steal your minis. Or you'll go to your local retailer tomorrow and all their Acon stock will be gone. If this decision impacts you (and let's be honest, it's probably doesn't impact the majority of people in this thread) then now's the time to act.
Yeah that's called life. Things get discontinued in life and some people have better opportunities to get those certain things. Happens in games like this too. Either you get the stuff now, pick a different army, use the secondary market, or you proxy models. There are plenty of ways to play this army.
My dudes. When the MRRF line got pulled, CB was crystal clear that the issue was production capacity. It is not a stretch to imagine that with the addition of three new sectorials--along with a pile of new models to match--plus who knows what in 2019, CB was going to have to cut back again somewhere else. This is plainly not the end of Acon, they're just not going to get new sculpts for a while and new players will have to obtain the existing line secondhand. If you play them now, nothing is changing (except for whatever the November tweaks might bring). If you need to buy a few more sculpts, you still have a chance. Not. The. End. Of. The. World.
to be honest, I feel as though a lot of these boxes (and even MRRF boxes) are and will be in online storefronts/ local stores for awhile. they're not going to disappear all at once.
We do, we just need them to be different. Fulfilling actually different roles in interesting fashion. Hell if anything dump the stupid overcosted OS, and make MO a true HI with rem support sectorial, where the HI fulfills different adaptable roles . Also can we get the updated trauma doc sculpt , we've had the dossier for ages and she looks awesome.
