Okay, I might just be being stupid or misunderstanding things... but... Grenzers can freely link with Securitates, right? And a single Interventor can join a team of Grenzers, right? So would that allow you to make a team like this? Jurisdictional Command of Tunguska ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 SECURITATE Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) SECURITATE Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) SECURITATE Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) INTERVENTOR Hacker (Hacking Device Plus) Combi Rifle, 1 FastPanda / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 27) GRENZER MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 32) 2 SWC | 98 Points Open in Infinity Army Or would this be an illegal team, since it'd count as not being a Grenzers team, so the Interventor can't join? I know this must be painfully simple and obvious to most people what is the correct answer here... so sorry for the dumb question, just wanted to be sure I'm (mis)understanding correctly here.
Grenzers can count as Securitate. Securitate can't count as Grenzers. Interventors can only join Grenzer Fireteams.
@Maksimas I've made the exact same mistake : Grenzers count as securitate for securitate link purpose. Unfortunately Interventors can only join Grenzers link.
Thanks for the clear up! Also, I wouldn't say it's that much of a shame the Interventor can only link with Grenzers... I'd say it's more so a shame only one Grenzer model exists- EDIT: Which is quite the shame since they look pretty goddamn cool.
But it does mean that this is a perfectly valid Securitate link: Jurisdictional Command of Tunguska──────────────────────────────────────────────────5 PERSEUS FTO (Fireteam: Haris) Breaker Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / 2 Pistols, DA CC Weapon. (0 | 33) SPECTOR FTO (Regular) MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser, Drop Bears / Pistol, E/M2 CC Weapon. (0 | 36) GRENZER (Forward Observer, Sensor) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27) GRENZER Spitfire / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 30) GRENZER (Biometric Visor L1) Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24) 1.5 SWC | 150 PointsOpen in Infinity Army
Do you mean the one in Operation Icestorm (wow already 4 year old, time flies) or the one previewed for the securitate-ish half-SWC box ? I agree they are really nice :) hoping we get a proper grenzer box too (or two-blisters).
Oh hey, a Combi-LFT one even. They look nice... though, this might be a slight nitpick, would've been cool if the Repeater Securitate was a Feuerbach or Sniper one instead. Still, they look pretty damn cool.
It's actually the hacker that's the least useful. Not that Securitate hackers are bad (and there are definitely reasons to take them), just Interventors exist so they'll be less common. But yeah, it's pretty much setting it up for a feurbach blister. Which is also cool as it allows people to easily grab 2 if they want.
Ah right, Securitates lost their Sixth Sense Lv2 skill after Tunguska dropped... And yeah, Interventors seem like pretty goddamn amazing Hackers, though I don't think much else can be said about them. Custodiers seem to be nice if you want a Hacker that can also manage to survive a smaller gunfight, though.
i actually like the repeater shotgun, it can guard the flank against regular guy and against hackable guys. And also as a moveable repeater, i might get better millage out of his than my moderator pitcher. I'll see when I start playing more.
I do suppose the shotgun Repeater would help lend some defense to the team and further reach for the team hacker.
The repeater is my favorite profile. Her, an interventor and Perseus are a lynchpin of my favorite link. If they don't have visors, smoke them, B2 on 19s. If they do, white noise them then murder them. It's an awesome link, because you carry your repeaters wherever you need them. They also do provide decent area denial in tight confines. The "chaff" in that box is the hacker. And even that's not bad.
Rather the hacker than a Paramedic or Tinbot. I still hold out hope for a Securitate Feueueurbach blister, possibly in a twin pack with an MSR or Grenzer ML
A linked hacker is pretty useful if it's a defensively oriented team. Means they stick close to your TR REMs and can buff them if need be.
Interventors are pretty amazing. But if you were looking for an upfield hacker that can firefight on occasion, then simply look at Mary Problems. Still got ODD, Pitcher, -1 BS and -2 ARM, but picks up +3 BTS, climbing plus, FD lvl1, +2 to dodge rolls, and better movement at 4-4. Although the FD is not a moot point with ITS season X but she still brings a lot none the less. While she doesn't bring a HD+ (as she has AHD and KHD), I don't usually see her as a replacement for an Interventor anyways. Most games I play them both with the Interventor often being the LT somewhere very safe. Mary will then play up field with the extra 4 inches from FD, better suitability with ODD, and more potential to use that KHD with not only the better BTS but also more movement to get in range of enemy repeaters. Or you can just shoot a pitcher and hack that way too. Especially in Tunguska, I feel Mary will be the go-to upfield hacker. Interventors will require atleast 1-2 extra orders to make it up field (depending on if you need Cybermask or not). Many times with climbing+ you can take paths that would avoid AROs and thus not need to Cybermask. And as for the Heckler KHD and Spektr AHD/KHD you're giving up either WIP and/or BTS, plus the lack of flexibility having the dual hacking devices offer.
