@ijw if i have a fireteam in cc with a piece of scenery, for example one of the antennas in "The grid", can i apply the +1 burst and +1 dmg for every member of the fireteam in cc?
I remember this question being asked somewhere in the past and the answer was yes. Will have to do some digging to find it back
RAW, you could not apply the bonus, because you cannot be Engaged with scenery (only troopers) and therefore don't fulfill the requirements for http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Fireteams_and_CC. That said, it would be very difficult to find a player willing to deny you the bonus, because it's clear how it's supposed to work.
would be nice to have an official answer to this, to don't cause any problems during tournaments. @ijw @HellLois @Koni
that is difficult to find a player willing to deny me the bonus doesn't mean the bonus is legit. what i'm asking is if is it legit or not. and i dont see any answer to that
That's because there isn't an answer. However if you come across someone refusing to let you apply it, point out that everything to do with CC requires an enemy rather than scenery.
if i answer like that i'm telling him that he is right because i want to use the bonus versus a scenery and not versus a trooper.
The issue for me isn’t treating the scenery element as an enemy (so it can be attacked), it’s trying to get the B bonus from being engaged while not suffering any of the downsides of being engaged.
Non-sense. @ijw pointing that out means that I agree with my opponent ... So what's the point in pointing that out? Mask
The situation isn't covered in the rules, and is therefore going to be messy. But... Not at all. CC Attack: The user must be in base to base contact with an enemy. CC Special Skills such as Martial Arts and Berserk: Either in an Active or Reactive Turn, a trooper must reach or be in base to base contact with an enemy in order to be able to use this Special Skill. My emphasis. The Requirements for those Skills involve the one and only activation clause for Engaged state. If your opponent doesn't let you apply any multiple combatants bonuses, you can point out that by their logic, you're not allowed to CC the scenery at all. But we know you can attack the scenery. What have I forgotten/missed? :-(
Attacking Scenery and CC skills came up and was answered for L&S. Answer 14 from the OP in the Season 9 thread.
