Anyone knows if andromeda will have its superior infiltration in OSS only? I mean it might justify to have her in steel phalanx...not in OSS of course...3 nagas and 3 dasyo 0_0
It's not 19 orders, Army is wrongly adding one order per Posthuman. Still 17 is not to be sniffed at.
PDF says she only gets those profiles in OperationS Sectorial (but then calls the sectorial SSS). Which is a shame since her background and fluff fit in more with the Phalanx than with OSS.
Okay, a longer version of my first impressions: Anromeda : new profiles. Cool story bro. Moving on. (seriously, she can maybe do some work if you have first turn and roll well for Superior Infiltration. As is... Eh? Why would I ever take her over equally priced Dasyu or Dart?) Apsaras KHD - BIG SALE TODAY, CHEAP KHD! Not bad, although seems just like a way to provide profile for vanilla G:Jumper LZ : not a bad buff, but not autotake. Workable. Useful for when you have second turn and can't get Supportware up Arjuna : cool little unit. With 2 bots can provide a nice cover for deployment zone. Wouldn't use her as a gunner. Looks like it'll be a fun little toy but not much more. Kinematika bots *facepalm* Personally, I'd always go with Boarding Shotgun loadout Asuras : oh boy. LOVE IT. Only sad I can't link with Rudras without Yadus, but what can you do. Hacker Lt-l2 will see a lot of play from me. Linkability with Devas is now very useful ABH : eh. I guess nice. Personally not my thing. CSU : interesting, useful addition. Cheaper than Dakinis while providing Specialist and bunch of smaller useful skills. Excellent flankguard. Dakini sad they didn't get any new loadouts cool for linking Deva WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE AHD + Lighting makes her very versatile, as she's threat to both HI/TAG/REM and also other Hackers. Lighting is one of the best anti-Hacker programs available. I expect this profile will be a mainstay in my lists. The fact she has Boarding Shotgun just makes it so much better FO and Harris Sensor options > awesome we got them (pity they didn't get a cheaper weapon, but I'm not complaining) MULTI Rifle - not bad but not great pity we didn't get another Lt option or two - but not complaining linkability pretty great; only sad I can't get Rudra in the link Father Lucien Sforza : fun toy to play with Garuda : sad not to have another loadout or two. Or Super Jump. Oh well Marut : without Smoke, they needn't have bothered including it in the list Rudras : Not happy with either loadouts or linkability. But it's gonna see play, if only because it is a STR2 REM :) Plus a bonus with Garuda Samekh : nice we got a Missile Launcher. Sad it couldn't have been a Dakini. Otherwise, cool. Shukras : nice. Boring Lt option. Shakti : looks interesting and decent generalists. Dangerous, especially linked. Yadu : meh, meh, and meh. Forward Deployment L1 makes them a bit more interesting, but they are too expensive to be support troopers and exceedingly mediocre shooters. There's much better places to spend points. Overall, the sectorial looks nice and fun, definitively competitive if on the extremely limited side of things. I am extremely pleasantly surprised at new Asura and Deva options (even if I would have liked MOAR), and loads of interesting links to try out. It's a pity for wasted chance with Rudras, and Arjuna looks like a fun odd unit for more friendly games. ======================================================= After seeing that Asura Spitfire can now fireteam with 2 Devas (minimum of 117 points if cheapest Devas taken), I have to say this is obviously totally overpowered and don't know how it slipped past the test team. Of course, this completely makes up for lack of Smoke, as shooting B5 BS14 weapon through Smoke would totally and completely break the game. Especially given the access to ability to field 2 regular Orders for 8 points total.
This confuses me, it's only bloat right? or do they expect tons of use outside of the extra inch of dodge/engage on 7's
I don't think they expect a ton of use, but it might be hilarious in those situations that it pops up in. Sometimes the best ARO vs some attacks is a dodge, and hey, free inch. Maybe your using the Kiranbots to clear minefields, might as well try a dodge. Or maybe a bad match up is shooting at the Arjuna, and the Arjuna chooses to dodge. Kiranbots get to dodge too, and might get a free inch. Definitely niche, but I won't say no. One thing I just thought of, an Arjuna who engages themselves and their Kiranbots in melee get a bonus to their burst. CC 15 isn't scaring anybody, but if it is suddenly burst 3? I can't wait to surprise someone with that little trick. ( Just don't try it on one of those jerks that crit on a 13+ )
Going just by army (i haven't checked the PDFs) I'm not sure you could link a Rudras and an Asura at all. It's listed as a Special Firteam Haris, 2 Yadu+ Asura. Doesn't that mean it can only form with those 3 units specifically? The way Rudras is described is that it can join a Yadu team, but I don't think it 'counts as a Yadu' for fireteam purposes. Like, I think you could do Yadu, Shakti, Asura, because Shakti counts as a Yadu, but not Yadu, Rudras, Asura.
The only requirement for putting in a Rudras GunBot is that it's a Yadu Fireteam. So yes you can have Yadu+Asura+Rudras. See the Jumper examples in the Skills PDF, which has an example Yadu Haris of Yadu, a Samekh FTO and a Rudras GunBot.
Hey... theoretically... could you do Deva + Samekh + Rudra? It would be a Yadu link, if the Samekh wasn't in instead of the Yadu - or does that not count, because there's nothing in there that says 'counts as' a Yadu?
You are correct, and sadness. Also forgot a yudbot in there, so warcor has to go. But happy with 17 reg orders.
Yep that should work no problem, same as the 0 Securitate Securitate Link where you swap in count as Raul, Spektor or Grenzers until no Securitate are left. Someone just told me about the Yadu HMG NCO... he has a Combi+HMG, while that seems to be free and is all kinds of awesome for Rangeband coverage.... that has to be a mistake, right?
Oh, cool! I mean, Yadu Samekh & Rudra probably covers more bases, but nice to know you can do it if you're tight on points. And yeah, I've been operating under the assumption the Combi on that profile is a mistake, especially as the preview we got in the GenCon video didn't show it at all, but was spot-on in every other profile for Yadus.
