Neither Army 6 nor Army Mobile lists Fireteam Core for them, that's where most people look first for answers. Might be a mistake, might be not. With PDFs as well as army having been a mess over the last few release cycles you kind of have to second guess everything.
My first impression is very good. In fact, my only concern is the Marut, because the big bunny girl is really expensive and miss smoke too much. And for the same price we got so many good tools. I really like the devas. They have now MULTI rifles, which is a solid option on them given their statline, and a FO profile, which will allows them to use that sweet WIP15. That plus good fireteam options, core/mixed core and mixed haris. I like the asuras. Finally, we have our MULTI rifle HD+ lieutenant ! Either alone or in mixed haris, it's an expensive but very solid choice imho. I'll definitely field asuras from times to times. Remotes ... Can't we not like them ? Dakinis teams will be so fun, and rudras is definitely a nice and shiny toy ! And can even be included in a haris. All of these with some solid backup, yadus, arjunas, posthumans ... each has it's role. Overall i'm really please with that sectorial, i just miss a good TAG option, the Marut is usable but too expensive for what it does in the sectorial.
I really like OSS. There are so many different ways to play it and still be good from the hard core Infiltration lists to list with minimal to no infiltrators. I can even see myself using Deva Core links and that is a feat in itself. Those Deva FO in ARO will be hard to get by, sure they wont kill but B2 flash on WIP18 will stop most things doing what they want to do. They even made Andromeda useful! Now i need to buy some CSUs for Dakini and Duo work and they are really nice models so im glad i get to use them.
Add to that the "fireteam glue" Yadu that have less link options than Veteran Kazaks and, of course, Securitates because we don't want Ariadna and Nomads losing their edge over the rest of factions.
First attempt at OSS, have 19 orders with 10 that can feed into the dakini core and still have the tools im used to. OSS looks really strong. Either Bostria was grossly mistaken, or the things were not set in the stone up to the 12'clock. Which is also telling when you see the scrumble and mess around OSS links.
Which I've already pointed out is a copy-paste error. And that file was only uploaded today, so it's not a previous advertisement of the Danavas being linkable.
Nah, it's a massive order pool that feeds into the garuda next. If either/both dies, spend a command to move the entire post human over. It uses the gross amount of orders well as both pools have active pieces and can sacrifice a couple aro pieces like the zayin, lamedh x2 or dakini sniper. The hmg and 3 others are for active turn.
So looking through the repeater options it appears that Lamedh rebots lose their repeaters in OS, along with memetism, can I assume this is an army bug?
Bugs at the release are a given. Shouldn't be, but I really don't see anything we can do about it. I'm pretty sure CB staff really tries to limit them. Anyway, my first impressions: 1) Order efficiency. One of the biggest pros over vanilla will be the ability to combine first rate killers with great specialist in almost every part of the list, so every order spent on killing enemy troops also brings you closer to the objectives. Deva+CSU will be cheap and awesome. Rudra in tandem with Shakti or in Yadu Haris. Every Core, Haris and Duo can do this. In general, ability of mix and match various units to fit the gamestyle is stunning. We also have three first rate infiltrators, not counting the units with FD L1/2, and Superior Infiltration on Andromeda should make it quite playable. One of the factors about that efficiency is how deadly the list is. Between Jumper LZ, wide range of units that can get fireteam bonuses - including REMs, which can get Supportware on top of that - and general flexibility in forcing the desirable range and other factors of any engagement, OSS should be able to go through enemies like a cabbage through an old and short crone. Instead of spending 3-4 orders to deal with an enemy we'll be able to spend 1-2 of them (I'm not taking bad rolls into account). This would help a lot, given the cost range of our units. And when it comes to objectives our Specialists have high overall WIP, so we shouldn't waste orders here, either. 2) With "Basic Infantry" at 13 pts, AVA 2 Netrods and Lamedhs, we won't be looking at horde armies, but creating fully viable 16-17 order lists won't be particularly hard. That being said, the most interesting things we've got come roughly in 25-40 pts range. Yadus are a prime toolbox unit, with flexible weapon choices, wide array of fireteam options (many of which can include other units), and all the MI pros with none of the cons. Shakti is a cherry on top, questionable Sucker Punch upgrade regardless. Rudra is pure brute force, though its access to shock will overlap with Supportware. I expect MRifle and - especially - K1MR to be the prime choices. Arjunas are interesting, I'm not sure what to make of them yet. On the first glance they seem pricy, but they're also MI with 6-2 MOV, great ARM and BTS (good overall statline, really), access to Akrylat Kanone and E/Marat would suggest an anti-heavy unit... I think they require some testing. In general, new "light" OSS troops, like Danavas, Shukras and Arjunas are a question mark. They're very specialized, almost to the point of being overspecialized. I see place for them, but it might be very meta-dependent. Time will tell. 3) Main weaknesses shape up to be: lack of Smoke (which is partially countered by the aforementioned flexibility, which renders the need to obscure way for Specialists unnecesary, and by access to multiple specialists with some kind of advanced deployment), cost of our units (this in turn partially countered by order efficiency, and by the durability of our troops), and reliance on NWI to keep elite 1 W models alive (which should be dealt with by way of shooting anyone with access to Shock ammo dead. There's a lot of units in sectorial that can do just that). Also Predator Classified will be difficult to score, but it should be easy to simply discard it in favor of something else - and there shouldn't be any problems with scoring the other ones. 4) On a separate note, changes to older units are awesome. Devas gained a lot of utility, new Asura options are very playable, lack of new options for Dakinis might be disappointing... but then one should remember the special options for their team. Devas. CSU. Samekh FTO. Overall I'm extremely pleased, 9.5/10, will play the (artificial) shit out of it. That's the Achilles heel of horde lists; take out few key pieces, and the remaining cheerleaders can't do much. Sheesh, this release sure is messy
Are there no Sophotects links? They were advertised (at I think this screen is from Nova) as being in a special link. It also showed up on the PDF with them belonging to a "special" link.
