My only complaint would be that there isn't a Frontovik Mule Controller and the new Mules are eh. They aren't something I'd use apart from the 5pt orders, and that will continue. Linkable shotgun Veronin is now something I could see using. Wildcard link options are awesome. I'm almost overwhelmed with trying to make lists with them at the moment. I look forward to seeing options like this rolled into older sectorials.
Meow... Guys, are you sure that 'wildcard' can be used more than once per fireteam? Vet. Kazak also has the following: "Core Especial. Up to 3 Veteren Kazaks and up to 2 Frontoviks." If wildcard can be used as many times as Veteran Kazaks AVA, then rule I quoted above would be redundant... And why, why Why WHY - 112 in links, not Kazak Doctor :(:(:(
Frontooviks don’t have a non-Special core fireteam. Without the 3 Vet option listed any combination of more than 1 Frontovik and VK would require you include the 112.
IJW wrote in the wiki that they do have non-special Core and Haris, in addition to the Special Fireteam listed in Army. That is how I found out about this oddity (while I was browsing the updated wiki). http://infinitythewiki.com/en/List_of_Fireteams#Tartary_Army_Corp
Yes, any number. Theme-wise it's weird, but game-wise a Light Shotgun adds far more to the Fireteam than another Rifle. They can both form standard Fireteams: Core.
Writing lists for TAK gives me serious troubles.. so many shiny new and old toys. In the end I'd like to come up with an all comers list that can be used for most missions. Here is my approach for a larger list: The list has the Core Link capable of doing some killing and objectives without costing too much. I hope that this makes the link a good tool while leaving enough room for strong solo pieces. The Spetsnaz HMG will do his job (a second one would have been nice..), Carmen provides Sensor, speed and eventual CC. 3 Streloks and 3 Irmas bring good tools for objectives and some fighting power as well. In this list, I put a Tankhunter CoC as forward deployment makes him a good specialist, CoC protects unfortunate LT kills from airborne. In missions with fewer specialists required, he could be switched out for a Tankhunter ML. How do you guys feel about the list? I feel I hit "feasible", but not awesome yet. Edit: LI lists seem way easier to come up with for some reason. Great amount of firepower at all ranges, loads of camo for LI and everythings is either in a full link of 5 or in camo in turn 1. 6 Specialists including CoC, 11th order thanks to strategos. Feels very solid.
If im not misreading something you still need to take the units you need from a profile to form a Core fireteam and then you ad Veteran Kazaks to it since its says they can Join and not that they count as that profile for link purposes. So the option of 3 Veteren Kazaks and up to 2 Frontoviks cant be done if it wasnt a special core since a core of Frontoviks is minimum of 3. I dont think Veteran Kazaks can be a duo with an Armata since a duo is already a full Fire team so its impossible to join it.
@Bobblehead What you are saying makes perfect sense when presented with the information we have in the army builder only, but if we look at the fireteam lists in the announcements and the PDF, Frontoviks are listed as having fireteam core, not just special. This would mean you can make a "core" of 2 fronts and add 3 wildcard vets That about settles it for me
Wildcard troopers can be part of any Fireteam, period. Which means that a Core of 1 Frontovik and 2-4 Vet Kazaks is legal. Note that the minimum number of troopers for a Core is 2, not 3.
Sniff... Well, I won't argue with that. But some profiles just become 'shoe-box' space fillers. Kazak Doctor seems like one of these now. If I can not link it with anything, and 112 has ava 2, I would not take my Kazak Doctor 95% of times. If I am missing the point here, please correct me. I like my Doctors... Hard some praise about ijw reliability. I guess I will concur, sniff, sniff...
Not to mention The Day of the Antipode we can pull off now... Tartary Army Corps ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 6 3 1 STRELOK K-9 Submachine Gun, Chain-colt, Antipersonnel Mines + 1 K-9 Antipode / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24) K-9 ANTIPODE Trench-hammer, AP CC Weapon. (8) STRELOK K-9 Submachine Gun, Chain-colt, Antipersonnel Mines + 1 K-9 Antipode / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24) K-9 ANTIPODE Trench-hammer, AP CC Weapon. (8) STRELOK K-9 Submachine Gun, Chain-colt, Antipersonnel Mines + 1 K-9 Antipode / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24) K-9 ANTIPODE Trench-hammer, AP CC Weapon. (8) STRELOK K-9 Submachine Gun, Chain-colt, Antipersonnel Mines + 1 K-9 Antipode / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24) K-9 ANTIPODE Trench-hammer, AP CC Weapon. (8) CARMEN Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades + Bâtard / Heavy Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 22) BÂTARD Trench-hammer, AP CCW. (- | 5) ASSAULT PACK . (0 | 25) HANDLER Rifle, Smoke Light Grenade Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (- | 10) ANTIPODE AP CC Weapon. (- | 5) ASSAULT PACK . (0 | 25) HANDLER Rifle, Smoke Light Grenade Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (- | 10) ANTIPODE AP CC Weapon. (- | 5) 0 SWC | 168 Points Open in Infinity Army Or one we should be able to pull of, if number of Antipodes in Assault Packs wouldn't drop to one. What is this, countdown to something? When the number of Antipodes gets to zero the Controller explodes? Wildcard Vets indeed render the 3 Vets+2 Frontoviks Special obsolete.
Meow... I guess I can have fluffy-friendly Link team with Vet Kazak and a specialized, also fluffy, frontoviks, with many mines, camos and some heavy artillery. Just a fast attempt at army list: Meow ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 7 1 1 VETERAN KAZAK Lieutenant AP HMG / Heavy Pistol, Knife. So because of rules play, the better one was done instead of the themed one? Where the hell are those playtesters in the other sessions?
@kanluwen I'm entirely speculating of course... I have no idea why that ended up the way it did. But if I was playing TAK, I'd be glad to have an embedded Doctor with light shotgun.
Yeah, and if I was playing literally any other faction that has questionable links I'd wonder why TAK got preferential treatment beyond simply being a "new" Sectorial. Just goes to show more and more that we need them to backdate Sectorials and Link Team options.
You are failing to see the USARF strengths and TAK weaknesses again and again. Yes USARF has two problems Minutemen and Limited insertion, outside of that the faction is awesome. USARF can field many of the toys they have in the same list, they have extremely optimized profiles like foxtrots and grunts. Blackjacks with sniper are excellent, and with hmg ap dirt cheap. Mavericks are some of the best bikes in the game, and desperadoes are close behind. I encourage you to play and learn the difference in play style. If you play TAK like USARF it's not going to work, the same goes if you try to play USARF like TAK.
And you're ignoring that additional gear and skills are the reason I'm saying they're USARF+1. I'm saying nothing about playstyles or any nonsense. Simply that it's typical CBery. They don't backdate anything and the "defensive" sectorial(USARF) only has ARM to rely on while TAK is sitting on lots of other tricks.
