I'll be pissed if it's not a Mine Dispenser. Perfect thing for it to end up being since they removed it from the Magisters.
Just gonna leave this here from the old forums: Quoting TDC: At the UK masters I got a chance to talk to Gutier about a few things... including the aquila guard shoulder thing... TL:DR It's a mistake During the design process the dossier was drawn up with the mount being used as a housing for equipment (Magister Knights have panzerfaust, Uhlans has Fuerbach, Aquila has MSV3)... Gutier asked for it to be removed as it would cause confusion given the other units... Stuff happened and it slipped under the radar to the point of release without getting changed. I also asked if there might be a new profile to match the model, it was indicated that this was unlikely as CB tend not to like adding new profiles to existing units. (It's better for them to release a new model with profiles than add a profile to existing model... we (the players) get more excited over a new model than we do over a new profile... ) http://infinitytheforums.com/forum/topic/29424-new-aquila-guard/?do=findComment&comment=865795
That last bit is kinda a cop out: you can achieve both easily. Druze is a clear example: they weren't new but were reworked. You could do the same with Prowlers or Bolts. Rework the profiles and drop a new Blister / Box at the same time. This let's the player base get excited by new models, new profiles and limits SKU bloat because it replaces existing SKU. Teutons would be a great place to do this: aging minies, suboptimal profiles. Drop updated profiles at the same time as new models.
And quite frankly, if it was such a big issue then why the hell did they let the model go to production?
That one seems worthy to point out explixitly. While CB didn't like adding new Profiles in the bast they changed their mind about it recently. It has happened for every NA2 Sectorial as well as TAK and Vedic. It's already announced for Varuna in terms of Orcs. And the "rebalance Patch" will include a couple new Profiles here and there. So the original statement "it was a mistake" still stands. But the reason why they aren't fixing it has disappeared. So while there might very well still be gameplay reasons to not make the shoulder thing a dedicated piece of equipment, there technically is nothing holding them back either.
It was dropped on the magisters on the count that too many ears were lost during the firing of the panzerfaust. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G930F met Tapatalk
No, it was not. The Panzerfaust is that gray box on top of the shoulder, not whateverthehell that shoulder pad is. Look at where the line points to!
As Section 9 says. The line is pointing to the little 2 tube grey box on his shoulder, not the pauldron doohickey. The pzf was always that little greeblie that was stuck on there - until they went back to that low-tech rpg-27 styled launcher tube for PanO.
I for one am glad to own 5 old Magisters. They're sleek, they're dynamic and with a very simple armswap (and without attaching the antenna) they look badass. I don't mind the new Magister sculpts and will probably get the ones without Panzerfausts anyway.
I think they've just moved away from shoulder mounted weapons in general. Tankos still have blitzen but have lost the shoulder mounted doohickeys. Also as section 9 pointed out, its the little grey box next to the piece of equipment which is clearly marked as the panzerfaust.
