I have been playing with the models in blender and have a question for 3d printing. What is an optimal wall thickness? What material would you print it in?

When im done im going to upload a 3d model. Would you give me some feedback?

Must be an Americanism. It's a template, then once you get your templates to all line up for all the pieces, you make all the pieces you need to the templates.

Let's see here... A template for the trapezoids to make the outer walls 'curve', lower side template, middle side template, and upper side template.

Thought it was a jigsaw and have been researching how to use such a machine :D

But it makes sense to make templates.

Awesome work. I am truly jealous.

I wouldn't go beyond 3 stories. After that, any miniature more than 3 stories up is so inaccessible, they are practically on their own table. Their own table that allows them to shoot anyone on the ground.

I wouldn't worry too much about the interiors. Playable interiors are a neat experience, but quickly become a problem when you have miniatures on the ground floor, and miniatures on the roof. I made some scenery with playable interiors, but we usually don't use those interiors anymore, because it slows down the game so much.

The goal isnt to build tables and stuff. I just want to color the walls and give the impression that it have been lived in and have a purpose other than hiding a mini and giving cover :) i want to do this with images i design in gimp and print out.

I finally found some spraypaint and are working on the buildings again! I am going to use yellow for the exterior.

    This building needs some powerwashing!

Great job! And yes, some posters and/or graffiti will help :)

I dont have the skills for grafitti. If i am going to do something like that it would still be a print out.

When i frist read "powerwash" i was wondering what kind of painting techniq that was and then it hit me what you meant :)

You can still do them with printing, get some from this nearly inexhaustible source, cut them up and glue them, with some weathering it shouldn't be noticeable they're glued into the building. Also Antenociti has graffiti decals, those should work even better.

    Looking good!

Micro Art Studios and Antenociti's both make graffiti decals. Gloss wherever you want to put the decals, then gloss over the top when the decals are dry, and dullcote over the top to finish.

I dont know the companies and dont know if i can get their products shipped here, but I am trying to do this as cheap as posible. With everything i have build i have used materials for around $10 and have enough to build a lot more.

I am going to try to print something at home and see if I can make it work. At the moment i am considering to use sandpaper to thin the paper after i have printet something and there by make it less bulky :) i really do love the proces and rarely have thought things through beforehand. It makes it exiting and makes the building proces fun and challenging at the same time :)
