Looking at recent ariadna miniatures I have found many females with combat boots and high heels and I can't avoid to think: man this miniature could look better without the heels. It has been so noticeable for me that many times I wish some upcoming models are not female. High heels can look really good on more sci-fi cyber ninja stuff but for ariadna and combat boots it looks bad and unnecessary to me. One of the last models without heels. I think it looks in art style with the rest of the game. very fitting for an anime inspired pin-up girl. maybe it would help if the boot sole wasn't a solid piece all the way across, but there was a gap between the heel and front?
I always thought the heels were a little silly on the combat boots. I didn't realize just how much I preferred the regular boots on the female minis until I was painting my new Uxia as pictured above. It just fits the aesthetic so much more. I get the heels on the space-age anime looking Aleph or Pan-O models but what really drew me to Ariadna in the first place was their more modern, practical design. The heels, at least for me, distract from that toned down, practical approach that I prefer in my Ariadna minis.
Wouldn´t every female Model tip-toing around look even sillier? I mean, I can´t really imagine it, so If you have a picture I might actually switch from "nah, they are ok in the context of Infinity" to "hell yeah, flot soles all the time everytime"
So true. Did you notice that Grunts and Mavericks are prevented from getting real armor just to show there boobs? I mean how in hell can a sweater be ARM 3?
I am all in for high heel female troopers! Looks goooooooooood! Nuff said. In case soemone has problem with troopers in high heels just chop the lower part off and place the mini on a sloped base. (Rock, ramp whatever.) No big deal I believe. PS Marut is my favourite sculpt!
I am not saying that i don't like the Models from CB. It's only sometimes strange how they dress femals.
I wouldn't mind the combat heels on some units, but they're really overused. And more normal combat boots would fit Ariadna specifically.
Some of those Woolie Pullies I wore back in the day, when i was in, felt like ARM 3. THey were thick and hot as all get out.
All the minis look great as they are, but they would look even better with normal boots. Not just because they make more sense in the situation, but I find they actually look really good in general
I agree they arent functional in a real world environment, but it's fine for the game. At least they arent wearing mini skirts and belly tops in pin-up poses anymore. Personally, I'd rather the tactical rocks/ space junk being removed from the minis. Half the figures look like they are about to give pep talks in an afterschool special.
