One 'issue' with Igao's is that they're a single bad roll away from death. That's just the rule in Nomads, so it's not really a downside. The other issue is that they're exposed in the midfield. This isn't really a Nomad problem. Even in Corregidor they're likely to be paired with Morans. Igao are great. But there's limits / alternatives in faction that mean that they're not as much of a standout as Bandits are.
Technically, it's possible to build a 13-Order list with just Symbiont Armour troopers. But, do you know what we need to do that? Yup, a Sakiel Box.
What doesn't help against target, who have structure and not wounds. Like a TAG. If you have a unit that is cheep but is useful in < 20% of the games than the points are waisted.
Yes, because you see TAGs 80% of the games... and you sure need that i-Kohl versus remotes with their huge CC numbers
So... the Igao is only marginally better than the O-Yoroi. That's it among STR units, unless I'm missing one. @Shinen most Natural Born Warrior units aren't as good as the Igao. The playing field will be levelled, but they'll still be fighting an uphill battle against the cheaper Igao.
I just wanted to add some skills/profiles (ajax) which have a good chance agains an igao. NBW cancels so many skills, it's not even funny anymore ^^ some bad things happens after you realise, that surprise attack is a cc special skill too. My poor oniwaban payed the ultimate price, lesson learned. :D
Dog Warrior in Dog Warrior form rolling low against Electric Pulse on Daleth Rebot. The discussion on what happens was priceless. :D
I had a Speculo Engage my Morlock. I was all "Umm.... Oooh...Kay?" I then explained the interaction and let him take it back. He dodged...
Not wasted, you just apply a -9 to the enemy CC (or -12 to the enemy BS, thanks to Mimetism) while retaining your +6 at the CC roll. Very little difference. And having a 25-points Mimetic CC specialist engaged in CC with a TAG is a very good situation for you, you can just leave the TAG engaged and use your Orders in other troopers. Let the enemy expend his own Orders trying to kill the Igao in CC or, even better, let your oponent try to shoot the Igao (and hit it's own TAG several times in the process).
The Igao will still reliably win against almost any TAG or REM, even without I-Kohl and without Surprise Attack. I-Kohl is what will let it beat even other CC specialists. Even a Ninja will think twice about attacking an Igao unless they're still in marker state to get Surprise Attack.
