And yet the key art for the faction has exactly that happening. ;) The more I look at this image the more I think it's a shortened autocannon or possibly a new weapon. It's not the right shape or size for a HMG. I'm also extremely interested as to what the guy next to the Spetsnaz is supposed to be. It looks like he's a Line Kazak but some of the uniform details look off for that and he seems to have a Molotok.
Probably--but man that would make for an interesting Dozer revamp. Also it looks more and more like we're going to see a resculpt for the Traktor Muls in the near future.
I don't think Kuryers will be simply Traktors with new weapons. That could be solved by adding loadouts to existing units. We can expect stats and skills change, too. I highly expect them to have S3, for example. Dozer with Molotok, oh man... As for Traktors - hard to tell, but the current ones are pretty nice.
Or, maybe it's S8 and it's actually this? I mean, Tunguska gets two Szalamandras. Plenty other sectorials get AVA2 on their TAGs. Why not a 50-60pt Unmanned TAK Tank?
I always thought it'd be cool if, instead of a TAG, they got a mini-tank like Bonaparte from Dominion Tank Police or the tanks from Metal Slug.
Before the new sectorials I really thought about USARF like the ariadna side with more cheap small lo tech remotes (s1 and s3 cheap real life land drones) and TAK like the one with one or two high tech units like a lo-tech TAG or a heavy remote like a mini tank or the new ones for ALEPH. The last one makes sense rusians already have the URAN9 and it's basically a remote tractor mul with an autocannon. Anyways, I was wrong. The new traktor mul looks a lot like this thing I would love to have a mini tank / heavy traktor mul with autocannon, the operator wielding the gun can feel very gimmicky if the rule is not properly designed. At this point I only hope the rule is cool and all the new units are equally playable, Original traktor muls included, maybe with some profile adjustments please? Also yes I hope the new mul arrives to the other sectorials too. Overall I'm happy with TAK. The lack of TAG makes me REALLY sad, but hey we got the veteran kazak core, and that is absolutely awesome, it was one of the main things i was hoping for. Long live to the kazak pain train! Man, ariadna is waaaay cooler than the imperial guard. I think it will have autocannon due the illustration, its a heavy weapon platform and ariadna has plenty of that so I hope to see really heavy weapons.
Just looking at Pavel Aleksei McMannus' unit logo, it looks like he's some sort of Caledonian inspired unit (maybe another Dog Warrior character?). Tbh would be just as stoked for a crazy line kazak with a claymore.
Also, from the key faction artwork, it looks like a Spets is using the mounted gun on the new Traktor. Not sure how their Marksmenship Lvl2 would come into play if so - not sure how I'd feel about Marksmenship Lvl2 Autocannons tbh. Feels overly strong if so. Hopefully the key faction artwork is just shows CB's artistic license as opposed to a completely accurate representation about what we get on the table.
From what we see here... ... he looks like an axe-crazy Caledonian. Might be a CC-oriented outlier, like Perseus in Tunguska.
Nice. Where is that picture from? Are we due at some point to see a Goldstein/Gonzaga profile, or is this like a mock-up of CB's original RPG group?
I think the new Traktor Mule could be something like the Zondnautica. A Remote that has a Driver who can dismount if necessary. This would also prevent new rules that must be added. Although i would like it more to be just a traktor mule with a autocannon, heavy shotgun or AP HMG like the attak Remots from PanO and the Nomands.
New Classifieds seem to benefit TAK immensely. Tankhunters (as Elite & MI troops) can do Capture, Followup, and Net Undermine. Spets and Vets can do Capture and Net Undermine without being Specialists. Irmandinhos (high AVA Engineers) can do Nanoespionage. Antipodes (available all over the place) can do Identity Check pretty easily. I don't like the added complexity of incorporating Troops types into the scoring mechanism, but TAK seems like it's in a good place to handle it.
From the looks of his Unit Logo, Pavel Aleksei McMannus is a Dog Warrior. But i am wondering if he might be a Wulfer instead.
Looking at the art closely it seems that spetznaz uses some kind of mounted weapon (That looks like AGS 30 honestly) That would be fun if CB stuff modeled some weapons as special forces guns. THERE ARE A LOT of this in Russian Forces :) just google it :)
I was really hoping for a TAG, yes I know it was a long shot. But it still hurts. It will be cool if the new REM doesn't need the Dozer as it comes with a unit in it controlling it. The whole, having it setup so others can use it sounds like a rules disaster to me.
