Teutons: Teutons should be more scary and CQB dedicated on the tabletop. Give them EXPCCWs, V: Dogged, and an Auxbot with a Eclipse LGL and Light Shotgun.
As best as I can tell MI, 4-2 and ARM2 is cost neutral over LI, 4-4 and ARM1. I was mainly making a joke about how arbitrary Bravery and Veteran troop classification is: Bao are the ideally placed to benefit from from.
That'd be 46pts for the Spitfire. That's not awful for what you're getting. Particularly not when you look at ITSX classifieds. Teutons are Elite. But even if you just go Dogged and Eclipse with a EXP CCW option on the Spitfire they're still only 5pts cheaper (for the Exp CCW, 7 without) and lose the Auxbot. So they're still an expensive option.
Yu Jing: Oniwaban, Keisotsu, Aragoto. Spoiler inb4 "But Pierzasty, they are no longer in Yu Jing" Well, 3 guesses what I'd like to change :v
For yu-jing i'd say: - Pheasant: even though CoC is extremly valuable, he's still really pricey for what he does. Could use better gadgets. - Bao: msv2 is nice and all, but they're a bit expensive when compared to a rui-shi. Could use more weapons choice i'd say. - Shang-jì: kinda obvious, but this guys are in rough shape atm, and definitely need something to make them stand out.
Really? It's in Army 6.25.0: Imperial Service ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 1 BÀO TROOP (Multispectral Visor L2) Boarding Shotgun, Contender / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 23) 0 SWC | 23 Points Open in Infinity Army
Well, you're right. But CB decided to include 3 Combi Rifles in the starter box instead of a boarding shotgun on one of them.
Tohaa: Kaeltar - More Symbiomates per Kaeltar Gorgos - More Symbioarmour + immunity: Fire Sukeuls - ODD and/or a profiles with TO CAMO Haqq: Mutts - Removed from game Tariq - Removed from game Profiles with Doctor Plus - Removed from game PanO - Removed from game Nomads Hecklers - Removed from game Riot Grrls - Removed from game Interventors - Removed from game Ariadna Chasseurs - Removed from game Caterans - Removed from game Tank Hunters - Removed from game Combine army - Become exhalted by Tohaa Yu Jing - Put them out of their misery and remove them from the game Aleph Post Humans - Become exhalted by Tohaa Danavas - Removed from game Achielles - Removed from game
Bitchin' Spoiler Tohaa -Symbiomates & Chain of Command on different profiles. Right now we have a good profile and a shit profile. -Symbiobombs rework. Being able to take one shot with mirrorball, and just fail the WIP roll... its not very appealing. One success or multiple ammunition would be preferable, even with a points hike -Kaeltar lose Triad. One of the biggest issues with Symbiomates is honestly the platform they come on. It is cheap CoC and cheap link filler, plus the shotgun is cheap useful CQB defense for the link and DZ. One easy fix is to eliminate Kaeltar from links Haqqislam -Ghazi Muttiwiah do too many things. They were cool as EM equipped warbands. Then amazing as EM equipped, dogged, smoke, jamming warbands. They need to lose something or some things. -Fiday and Fiday character to share AVA. Currently there is little incentive to run Hassassins, and their signature unit can be done better in vanilla using Fiday+character+Saladin. That is poor design. -Govads are shit. Same issue as all the other vanilla MSV troopers - what the hell am I going to do with a premium priced rifleman? The HMG sees some play in Hassassins as a "crap visored sweeper" but I just don't see the purpose for Govads outside of that either in vanilla or sectorial. Tohaa -Sukeul are too good. Mimetism is like SMGs, as soon as you slap it on a profile its probably way too optimised. These things invalidate a good deal of other units in the faction and make a lot of equivalents in other armies look like crap. Tohaa practically builds itself at the moment with Sukuel HMG, 2x Kaeltar as your first ~80 points. -Let us fix the fucking Gorgos. Also did anyone ever clear up if it can really use the skill "Remove Symbioarmour" once possessed to pretty much kill it? -Clipsos bloat profiles. What the fuck are all the non FO non sniper clipsos profiles for? Has anyone ever run the combi-nimbus grenade? As soon as you play ITS every non scoring skirmisher needs a huge incentive to be fielded, and I'm just not seeing it. Morats -Vanguard as armoured MI. Gives them a niche and fits the models. -Make Yaogats do something. Vanilla MSV2 troopers are pants. -Zerat is a disgrace. Look at Hecklers to see what a more combat orientated, semi-camo infiltrator is capable of. -Datz link needs some reason to exist. Right now its just five datz. Yeah you kind of negate their impetuous, but we already have the Hungries in that niche. They need like a specialist or something to help incentive taking them. Can I suggest a hacker given their comlog affilitation? Hell a hacker Datz would be super cool and probably see play in vanilla too Tohaa -Igao is overcosted shit. I'm paying a premium for a poor shooter and modest fighter, that loses camo after the first attack. I know not every assassin can be the DACCW Killer Hacker but can we get a profile with a cheaper BS weapon? -Taquel is expensive and slow. I love the concept of a SWC equipped, perimeter weapon specialist, but that slow speed makes him hard to justify and regeneration is shite. -More things that can actually use command tokens please. Yu Jing -What the fuck is Sun Tze marksman leader? Make it playable or cut that shit from the game. He isn't cheap. He isn't tough. It's hard to have decoy LT with him around. He's just outright confusing flavour wise. He isn't an exceptional shooter. And paying points for dat double shock on the MSR, oh boyo. I would suggest a cheaper SWC cost for the sniper profile, and an x visor for the MR loadout, plus a points cut. Or even something like limited camouflage to help YJ's ARO game. -Bao Troopers: This has been covered already. Vanilla MSV2 troopers need a huge buff, as do MI in general. In particular give us a reason to run those combi and BS equipped troopers. Biometric visor is ass, make it do something interesting rather than sometimes ignore niche skills. If its going to be a deterrent to impersonators, it needs to do a better job too. -That Holoecho2 bot. Honestly its as much a case of the Rui Shi being stupid good as this being mediocre, but you can't have both of these in the same faction and call it good unit balance. And since I know CB won't ever nerf shit the next best thing is to buff something else to make it playable. ALEPH -Posthumans are a meme. "Whats it's BS?" "13" Whats its ARM?" "5" "Whats it's WIP?" "15" "How many points" "Fuck all" You have literally set all of the good stats to maximum and made them cost shit all, don't know what the fuck was being snorted when these were designed but I want some. -Marut is AVA 2 and the Avatar is not? BOOO. Worst problem on the list, gimmie my two model army.
Can you run via your formula if Briscards are priced like they should? Is really MSV1 so expansive point wise? Or is it a marskman rifle? And would they price change had they have mimetism instead of MSV1(that sucks)?
The only Bao profile that costs correctly according to CB's own system is the Bao Multi Sniper. The other profiles all have between 1 and 4 points that they do not have corresponding equipment for. Their price should at the very least reflect their equipment, but it doesn't. While the unit itself works (all profiles do, regardless of if they cost 2 or 200 points), I still find they are both a bit too costly and a bit too awkward to field (mostly because the Pheasant requirement to link is still a literal tax). However, a first, small, step is to reduce the non-sniper cost to their correct points and see if that fixes the problems people experience with the unit, because people are experiencing problems with the unit even if the problem might just be "it's awkward to field". He was referring to my modified points costs where during the time of posting the Medium Infantry+Veteran+Arm2 modified Bao with Combi+LSG and MSV2 was written as 22 points. It's also the profile with the closest to sniper performance at 32+" I haven't checked all profiles, but from what I can tell specifically the Briscard Marksman Rifle is correctly priced, though I suspect there's some rounding error going on because compared to the benchmarks I've check during a quick check the Briscard should cost 1 point more than you pay for them. I additionally note that the Briscard still get the Medium Infantry discount compared to Light Infantry, even if Briscards are 4-4 rather than 4-2. Mimetism and MSV1 are roughly the same price, depending on a bit which chassi they are attached to. P.s. they have assault pistol. I don't have time to evaluate the cost on that one. Briscard are a bargain.
I don't think I have ever seen a briscard in vanilla Ariadna, that's kinda suggest to me that they are not as good for what they cost. It baffles me that according to CB MSV1 is "equally" as good as mimetism is. Mimetism that comes to play in 90% of your F2F rolls in comparision to MSV1 that find its use like what, roughly 10-20% of the time? I would swap mimetism for MSV1 in an eye blink. HRL profile being an exception here, because HRL's are great on every platform. Is Biometric visior costed the same MSV2 as well?
That's pretty much a universal MI issue, hence Bravery. Mimmetism is deliberately cheap to act as a buff. I'd recommend building more tables with terrain zones to leverage MSV1 more.
Yeah that's good a point. For me skills like terrain skills are null, flavour-esque skills that don't really come into play, like ever unless scenario is very specific about them. This might be the reason why I considers briscards to be overpriced(I would be totally cool had they have mimetism instead of MSV1 tho). Which saddens me because I think they are one of the coolest units out there and would really like to make use of them ins ectorial that is not very strong on itself. But it seems to me that CB acknowledges lack of terrain zones being used in their game, because most of new profiles seems to lack terrain specific skills.
I suspect you've miscalculated something, because I've only ever been able to find two of the profiles to be 1pt over, compared to the sniper. He's talking about Visibility Zones, not movement.
Yes and CB suggestion is to match certain difficult terrain zones with visibility zones so I put those two things to one basket. It is clear to me that Briscarrds supposed to excel in mountain terrain that has both movement and visibility impairments and where their equipment and skillset would gave them advantage over someone else. These are also two additional rules that were not really used at all in any community I have played. Unless scenario specific.
Ah, you appeared to have swapped from talking about MSVs to Terrain Skills, which generally don't cost anything. EDIT - also, get your groups to play with the bleeping terrain rules, they exist for a reason!
Well, first and foremost, Mimetism is perhaps the single most cost-effective ability Infinity The Game has to offer a profile, except maybe ODD. Swapping literally anything for Mimetism (and the points between) will result in a stronger profile. Whether Briscard are a great profile or not is not something I've evaluated, that requires me to have intimate knowledge of how the faction itself works and to compare them to other units of the faction. Please compare Briscard stats to a Hassassin Govad. However, for the price you pay for them Briscards offer a very good premium light infantry for their points cost, however this does not solve what I will be responding to inane.imp below; I disagree that this is a universal MI issue. This is a universal [single wound premium unit with neither pseudo-wounds nor CH skills]. Briscards suffer from this, Zhanying suffer from this, Govads suffer from this, etc etc. The points-scaling isn't very favourable to what can be summed up as "stock-protection single-wounders" Yes, I know that Moiras et al are considered to compare unfavourably to Riot Grrls, but I'd argue that that is a different issue due to Frenzy and that if Frenzy was an actual drawback in Fireteams or if Riot Grrls didn't have Frenzy then the comparison wouldn't be at all as much of an issue. Consider the two Boarding Shotgun+Contender profiles. 1 point difference, means BioV2 is 1 point cheaper than MSV2. Consider the two X-visor profiles. 2 points difference, means BioV2 is 2 points cheaper than MSV2. -> BioV2 price is inconsistent, and likely 1 point. Black Friars seem to pay less than 1 point for BioV1. Consider the MSV2+BioV2 profile. Same price as BSG MSV2 profile, means BioV2 is the same cost as Contender. -> Boarding Shotgun MSV2 BioV2 profile should be 8 points cheaper than Sniper, is 6 cheaper Consider a multitude of X-visor units where the single most common deducible cost is 1 point. The known price for a LSG is 3, same as MSV2. I'll revise my statement to that all profiles, except the sniper which checks out perfectly to other units, are 2 points too expensive, except the [BSG, Contender, BioV2] profile that's 3 points too expensive.
