Tight as in "zero" for 300 points lists! XD Meaning no hackers, meaning POS being only countered by Command Tokens... I've had a lot of AVA4 servitors around (in other factions), and never deployed more than 3, frankly. 12 points are a CSU, after all... or 2 orders in the shape of a Netrod + Lamedh/Probot :S I think the Apsara is in that boat too, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I just looked in the Wikipedia for Arjuna in the hindi mithology... Damn dude could be anything in Infinity, he had a frigging collection of 20+ magic gear and weapons, and could have acces to smoke, e/m, stun, sniper... almost anything CB wants XD. I really doubt CB would down the AVA of the Sophotect from 2... since that's her AVA in vanilla. We'll see if she only goes to a Special core... or also to a Special Haris.
Nah, we've seen its stats. They're generic, it's a guy with an SMG, above-average BS, and Jumper LZ, which apparently is a kind of stat transfer it can give to Remotes. Anyway, on Arjuna. Like all the most prominent heroes of Vedic mythology, Arjuna is a supreme prodigy with mastery over every weapon under the sun, but much like his fellows Rama and Karna (the three of them being pretty much the most popular and well-known heroes of India, unless you count Krishna) he is first and foremost an archer. This isn't uncommon for Vedic heroes - the bow was the height of personal weapons technology when these stories were forming, and was considered the weapon of nobility. There are huge swathes of text about various heroes cutting each other's bowstrings with their arrows, firing arrows that would rain down as a hundred, and other such supernatural feats of archery, up to and including shooting arrows that can level cities. If CB is keeping this in mind, I find it likely that the Arjuna of Infinity are some kind of long-ranged troopers, probably very expensive and accurate. Alternatively, the chariot was an important motif in duels between Vedic heroes, and Arjuna's chariot in particular was noteworthy for "holding in it the entire universe", so... maybe a TAG of some kind? Alternatively, CB just like the name and it has nothing to do with any of this stuff. That said, I'm very surprised that the name Arjuna wasn't saved for a character. As far as famous Vedic heroes go, he's one of the big three. Though personally I'd prefer Karna or Duryodhana, the much more relatable and better characterized bad boys of the Mahabharata.
I was talking about visuals (Concept or 3D), but yeah, we know it's a unit that is overcosted for what it gives, it will depend entirely on the Jumper LZ if it will see the table or not. Possible, looking at the Marut. Or maybe a S5 HI troop, since I think Aleph has only Ajax there. Well, Karna is on Fate: Apocrypha, so not so hard to get a model for (same as Mordred... just grab one of the five Joans XD), but Duryodhana I'd say it's less "pop culture" levels of famous.
I bet that Arjuna unit has exactly 0 traits in common with the mythological Arjuna. You know, like all the rest of the Vedic profiles.
I'm guessing BS20,1 arm, BTS0 WIP1, Heavy Flamer, Line&Light Infantry - No LT option, 360 visor, regular, 1 wound, total immunity, HD+,KHD,DHD,AHD... something like 50 points.... If i guess for that, i really can't be disappointed
Boosh. I actually think it looks great for such an underwhelming profile. I'll probably be using it as an SMG Posthuman or Dart proxy. Anyway, had no idea Fate got into Vedic stuff. I recall it making Gilgamesh a blonde surfer looking dude. Hey now, there's some stuff that fits. For example, Asuras have the same role in Infinity as they have in the Mahabharata: overly-hyped warriors that are supposed to be the fiercest foes around, but inevitably underwhelm and job to guys like Arjuna. Seems legit.
With all the horrible spinoff series and games they are making, probably the only missing character in the Fate franchise is Don Quixote. And not for too long, they'll probably release him sooner or later as a young irritable tsundere loli clad in a skimpy armour. Or something like that. P.S.: Gilgamesh is an interesting character in the Fate series, I'd recommend limiting your exposure to the Fate series to just the adaptations of the original videogame (or the game itself) and Fate/Zero (or the Fate/Zero novels instead).
It's been a LOOOOONG day -.-U They did not. A novel called "Fate: Apocrypha" was released some time ago, then an anime adatation was made. The premise is that the Grail War in Fubuki was changed during WW2, and a magus was able to run away with the true grail (and countless "lesser wars" were waged thereafter, since the secret to make one was leaked...). He then managed to get a group of magi that all summoned the heroic spirits, managing to get a full team for the summon... This engaged the "no cheating, you bastard!" function of the grail (or the magi association was able to activate it remotely), and it turned a Team Black Vs Team Red war... Truly funny, since you have the Karna Vs Siegfried (Nibelung), Mordred (Saber clone) Vs all, Shakeaspeare & Semiramis doing their stuff, Achilles Vs Chiron, Atalanta Vs Jack the Reaper... who is uncontrolled and vs All... A frigging mess XD Yeah, too many computer games. But the animes are, somewhat, fairly consistent. Just taking on different routes of the game. A new bunch of movies is being released, with BLACK SABER!!! AT LONG LAAAAAST!!!! XD
Those are the good ones, the adaptations of the original videogame. But then you have Grand Order, Apocrypha, Extra, Prysma Illya... they'll milk the cow until it's completly dry.
This. I really hope that something else will also make for efficient list builds, but this one is seems already all the way up there. Maybe the general profile rework will tone down posthumans so that they arent a clear Auto include anymore.
Thing is, CB never said it'll be a general profile rework. Just that some PanO profiles will be tweaked. Fixing Posthumans should be fairly easy, though. Making G:Jumper cost a few more points.
I'm conflicted. Now that I've bought box of them I want to paste few enemies with them, preferably those who said that Posthumans are completly OK.
Remember however that the Posthumans were reduced in cost with HSN3... incresing the value again would be lazy and barely effective... everyone would still use the mk1 and mk5 SMG.
True, Mk.5 FO is overoptimized and could really use some rebalancing. Making Mk12 loadout more competetive would help, for example by reworking Marksmanship LX into something useful. On a side note I find the less used loadouts - Mk.2 sniper, Mk.3 and Mk.4 - very playable.
