Is it safe now to say nomads are the space marines of infinity? I'm assuming they just meant 2018 as a whole. And besides we got fucked in February since it basically all over when the first teaser hit.
I would say bostria was referring to the year 2018, not a year as in the next 12 months. All recent spoilers from inter point to a release in Jan, including a timeline with a big N in Jan and an interview which hinted to releases as early as December.
Lol, you play Infinity long enough and lots of factions get called the "space marines" of Infinity. It will pass, as do all recent release hypes.
I wonder if that’s an error. He has the “this unit is a character” note on his profile in army despite being classified as an LI. All the dire foes prior to his box seem to be characters. All the dire foes since his box (Xi, Leila, Rosie, Ker Nau, and Yuriko [who changed when her faction shifted]) don’t come up as characters. But that means that factions like Haq, Ariadna, and CA have some dire foes who are characters and some who aren’t (Yasbir, Isobel, Treitak, and Corax all come as characters).
If you are going to quote me do it properly. I said 'minor modification to the game'. FD1 is minor not very minor, just minor, FD2 is much more usable but seeing as MI are just getting FD1... sky isn't falling MI are not cheap if your opponent takes a bunch of MI they get a little order efficiency buff and some board position. Good: I was not regularly seeing much MI.
You don't see Intruders, Tankhunters, Nisses, Grunts, Marauders, Mavericks, Sin Eaters, or even Moiras? Strange meta And did you notice all the units I mentioned belong to just 2 factions that are not exactly struggling right now? That's my problem with this kind of indiscriminate buffs, I have the feeling the useless MI will still not see the table, but the good ones just got even more uber, and it just so happens only 2 factions really benefit from it because reasons.
I see Tankhunters a lot less since Spetsnaz came out Moiras haven't been popular as a link since GRRLs got buffed
Yes, Moiras are just about the only MI that maybe will get played again because of this. For the rest of MIs, the ones that weren't played won't be still and the ones that were just got a buff because CB felt like it.
Only heard q1 as release date. Estimated mid January for teaser at earliest with maybe army release Feb. Still would not consider 4 months out of an 11 month season early. Which podcast was that? Back to the subject of MI, while Nomads and Ariadna have a metric truckload of them, it's worth mentioning pretty much all the other have MI workhorses that can really work that deployment flexibility. The vast majority of high burst MSV2 are on MI. Gwailos, Rhodoks, Lasik, Thorakitai, Sekban, and Druze are also profiles outside of Ariadna and Nomads that deserve respect.
I like the new Aleph Yadu even more because of the FD L1. But, to be honest. I started playing Nomads and for me the Intruder just sucks compared to the mighty Hsien (with Kaung Shi and Smoke) or the Rui Shi. :D
Whoa, shots fired! Seriously, use the Intruder like a Ninja with a big freaking gun. Use and abuse marker state to your maximum benefit, and you won't particularly miss the second wound from the Hsien.
Its not only the second wound. Its the "better" smoke and the cheaper regular orders. Imho ISS is still a top dog sectorial and even the slightly weaker Vanilla YJ has some extremly strong options. Im in love with Mary Problems and the Überfallkommando, but the Intruder is not that scary. I mean, you get a Hsien with B2 Smoke in a 10 order group for 114P...
So what you are saying is you like Kuang Shi spam, but what you actually wrote was "Hsien and Rui Shi are better than Intruder" They are not.
He said that a big update to the army would come then... not necessarily the same thing. Wildcat Haris in Corregidor is suddenly more attractive. Ariadna gets tons of MI, and the Marauders are not a big commitment (120 or so points with 3 foxtrot FO...), their only weakness is that they MSV1 are on the long range weapons... but I foresee tons of Molotoks. Anyway, the Proxy mk5 dual SMG feels more than smug and strong for this season. Specially with Dart as support. Choose, the last Sinpetaca (38 I think... "dont cry for me pulpi") and the Mas Allá de Mordor (interplanetary special), both available at ViBox. Sure thing, forget he Morlocks. 6pts for a smoker that carries an E/M melee weapon and it's irregular+extremely impetuous, and a BS13 MSV2 troop able to do surprise shots... that's about -12 every 2 orders. I can live with 1 less burst than the linked Hsien, specially since the cost of this is 12 points (at least 2 morlocks) plus 42 for the HMG... that's 54 points. Not a huge investment, frankly... and now the Intruder got Advanced Deployment 1 for free. And he already had Multiterrain...
Or Jaguars at 10 points, who won't run out and die in an unfortunate accident on turn 1 and lose you the smoke for the rest of the game. Also has the benefit of being Corregidor natives.
Yeah I tend to see a lot more double combat group with cheaper LI/WB and REMs making up the bulk of the units supported by a couple of MI and or HI. This happens because MI tend to be expensive, 4-2 Is a big problem to overcome in objective scenarios and taking a lot of them generally leaves you at an order disadvantage compared with the aforementioned strategy. I've tried running 5 MI in ikari in a limited insertion format, it falls to order starvation as my few hobbled models clomp slowly to inevitable defeat. I think that the benefit provided to all MI will be felt most strongly where a player gains most order efficiency from bringing many MI and pushing them all further upfield. That one tankhunter or nisse you might conceivably want FD might save you one order which in the scheme of things isn't all that likely to be game changing. A currently mostly static MI link of dubious quality (of which there are many across the factions) may no longer be confined to a cost inefficient camping & cheerleading role for which they were not intended, that seems like it's good for gameplay. If it doesn't produce new/interesting strategies it'll be gone next season anyway. I think that's about as tediously longwinded and unambiguous as I can manage.
Don't be upset about the setting of the ITS10 rules. Tiger soldiers become even more interesting. You can AD deploy them on top of buildings, on some stairs, on narrow corridors... a pretty interesting feat for a mimetism shooter. It also benefits from Advanced deployment 1 if you give up on the AD deployment (getting multiterrain instead). so it opens space for new uses for the tigers. Our Other MI Suntze v2 becomes pretty interesting in its Multi rifle version. Come on, a BS14 trooper with MSV, WIP17, flashpulse, nanopulser NWI and total inmunity... Jesus crist... And of course It can perform some classifieds and missions because it counts as Veteran we have little MIs, but I think they are both interesting with the ITS10 rules. Of course Invincible is coming with more MIs so Yujing will continue profiting from this set up
