Nature of the game is simple; there's a lot of ideas flying around all factions' subforums regarding which units should get a makeover. I'm interested in seeing it all in one place (might create a poll later). PanOceania: I could name at least six or seven units here, but I'm keeping to the rules. 1) Bolts, obviously. They have no real function in PanO, or it's so niche that it might as well not exist. 2) Teutons. Ditto. 3) Rao. Can we have Characters that are more interesting than "base unit +1 WIP and AssPistol"? Please? Ariadna: 1) Voronin. Currently he's a bit of a waste of space. 2) Mormaers. Could use something to make them worth taking over Greys. 3) Minutemen. I'm not sure if they're bringing in something worthy over Marauders. Haqqislam: 1) Ghazi. One of the few nerfs required in the game. Why they got Smoke Grenades for free is beyond me. 2) Lasiqs. Don't really have a role in sectorial. Or maybe they just need a Haris. 3) Hard to tell, I rather like Haqq lineup. Khawarijs? Daylami? Halqa? Combined Army: Shasvastii aside, obviously. 1) Zerats. There's a lot unique things non-camo infiltrator can do in MAF. 2) Sogarats. They could use some additional oomph. Full Auto? Fatality L2? NBW? 3) Kurgats. Not inherently bad, but could be so much more with a few changes (like HGL :P) Aleph: 1) Andromeda. By herself she's... passable. Nearly useless as long as we can field something else. 2) Posthumans. Another nerf needed, if only in form of recalculating G:Jumper cost. 3) Diomedes. He's a nice character, but brings nothing really unique, and at his price point that's a deal breaker.
Would change to "PanO's secondary (read: non-Joan) characters, also tertiary (Bipandra). It's hilarious as there are no Nomads or Tohaa examples ;P (Tohaa receiving some minor nerf slaps on few selected units (no mates+CoC, mates weak to fire?) and Nomads could actually get some limitations in what they can do xD
Ariadna: 1. Metro - aka shittest unit in the game. 2. Mormaer - should have have NWI with immunity or even staigh up second wound - there is litteraly nothing that makes them comparable to any other HI infantry of that price range. 3. Briscards - Give them mimetism and keep current prices and their fine I'd say Yu jing 1. Celestial Guards are overpriced for what they bring to the table 2. BaoTroops - overpriced and overall not very useful 3. Suntze - I think he would have been great unit had he costed this 10 or sth points less. Otherwise he is fine.
Daylami do work. Some loadouts are more 1ed legacy than anything else (and never ever had models), but the Daylami provide oyu with cheap disposable Panzerfaust ARO and rear area watchmen. For Khawarijs and Halqa, we don't yet know how are they going to work in their intended sectorials. Luckily for the Khawarijs, they should be up relatively soon. As for Halqa, there's a lot of patience required of us. But as for me, #3 would be Yasbir. He's neither fish nor fowl in my eyes, the only non-Marker State (Camo / Impersonation) Infiltrator in Hassassin Bahram, and price-wise not really competitive agaisnt Farzans and Fidays. Th cheaper loadout is a CC meatgrinder Muyib, which is not that very useful for Muyibs (or Muyib / Asawira haris).
I'll talk about Tohaa, as it is the Faction I know best: - CoC Kaeltar, the one with Symbiomates: Make it more expensive, like 25 points for the Light Shotgun one. The Symbiomates have proved to be very valuable, and combined with the Chain of Comand rule that means that few people consider picking the Symbiobomb Kaeltar. If it were more expensive, people that likes taking two would be playing with one less order per turn, and that would help the overall balance the of faction. - Kawaii Sentinel: Corvus Belli released a model bigger than it should be (it's suposed to be a S1 trooper, but the sculpted model is very close to S2), so just change the profile so it's less confusing in the table; I'm tired of replacing them with the Silhouette marker to show their real size every time they move or have to declare ARO's. - Gorgos: Just replace its Wound for Estructure, the Sentinels have already shown that Tohaa can build EST based bioconstructs. It can keep the Symbiont Armour rule, nowhere says that Symbiont Armours HAVE to be Wound based. This would also help internal Faction balance, as people would use more the Gorgos (the fist hits taken would be fixable, as long as you don't completly loose the Symbiont Armour), the Kumotail (it's used less and less with each new trooper revealed for the Faction) and the Kosuil (the Sukeul Specialist profiles came and stole the show).
Nomads: Carlota: make her worth taking in any degree Intruders: better Non-SWC options would add a lot. A MULTI rifle or AHD option would help a lot. Moira: I don't know how to fix them but they are well in to the lower end of mediocre. Maybe ODD has been balanced down in usefulness as equipment was released.
I don't have a problem with her. ADHL, extra WIP, extra BS. There's ecen extra ARM, though this rarely makes ore breaks her for me. But Engineer with 14 WIP, 13 BS and ADHL who airlands behind enemy lines - yup.
Nomads: Prowler: Kind of feels like a waste of space, an ambulatory gun at best. It's a MI with infiltration and Camo, but it's a kind of crap MI with infiltration and Camo, I'd make it basically a Wildcat with Bioimmunity, Infiltration and Camo, and it'd probably cost more but be actually worthwhile. Mobile Brigada: just not a very interesting selection of options and skills. If they could link with Wildcats, if they had more interesting weapon and equipment options, if they had a funky skill or two... I'd probably err on the side of caution, and let up to two Mobile Brigada join a Wildcat Core, and up to 1 join a Wildcat Haris. Hellcats: I'm really stretching it a bit here, but in an ideal world, Hellcats would feel a bit more elite, as Nomads and Corregidor are supposed to have that "awesome aerial drop and zero-g troops" feel and superior MI in general, so I'd give them perhaps BS 13, Stealth and more widely equipped E/Maulers. Appropriate points increase to go with. But if they also never got any of this they'd be fine and I still use them so ehhh
Plz fix Pano Bolts,Teutons, bipandra Nomads Prowler, taskmaster, moderators Haqq Khawarij,Saladin, yasbir Yu Jing Shang Ji, bao troops, sun tze v2 Ariadna Mormaer, minutemen, unknown ranger Aleph Thamyris, penny, Diomedes Combined army Vanguard, maakrep, umbra's Tohaa Kamael, ectros, gorgos
Nomads and Corregidor have the most accessible drops, not most elite. That's why no matter what role on your AD you want you have a profile between Tomcats and Hellcats.
I'll just name one: Bao Troops. It's one of few units I've been able to identify (and remember) to still have hand-adjusted points costs on. It's actively hurting this unit's viability given that most of its profiles are more expensive than they should be (and also kind of really up there in terms of bloat stats; high WIP with no specialists, high BTS with no Bioimmunity, CC15 rounding and Combi+LSG)
Pano Bolts,Teutons, Rao Haqq Khawarij, Ghazi, Yasbir Yu Jing Sun Tze v2, Ariadna Mormaer, Minutemen, The guy with Gaurdian Aleph The girl with Guardian Tohaa The Pokemon masters Nomads Carlotta
Tohaa: 1) Kaeltar: switch COC to symbo bomb profile / symbiobomb disposable(2/3) 2) Ectros/Nema: remove hackable 3) Gorgos: Structure on the symbiont armor and fire immunity
Nomads: Prowlers - Drop to Limited Camouflage, reduce WIP to 13, add a combi-flame profile without the ADHL and with d-charges, add a "CH:Camo" profile, should be cheaper and more useful for it. Brigada - Reduce points costs by a small amount, would also need to do this to many other HI that are a little overpriced. Geckos - Add new weapons options to offset that they're a less attractive prospect than the S5 HI proliferating, even if they are a good bit tougher and cheaper. A Spitfire with no chain-colt, a heavy flamethrower variant that's given up the colt, pzf, and one combi-rifle. Ariadna: Voronin - let him have a non-Guard profile so he's not a literal massive target, maybe with actual armour? Or special duo with a Veteran Kazak as a bodyguard in TAK? Blackjacks and Ratnik - Make them S6 and forget "Heavyweight" Mormaers - Change Dogged to NWI, change move to 4-4, change AVA to 5 and add core in CHA, add a regular rifle+light flame profile Tohaa: SymbioMates - Give it a max of four hits to ignore. Sakiels - Give them a clock, so they can reset it themselves. ALEPH: Andromeda - Same as Voronin. StarCo: Geckos - Give 'em some!
The problem with Brigada is that they're an unpopular PanO troop that trades BS for Courage. The solution is better profile options like Wu Ming imo. Geckos are fine but more profiles could excuse more sculpts. Heavy shotgun and Stun LGL attached to the back instead of panzerfaust. That would be a dope model.
If I had to toss some cents in for factions I'd like to say I have a vague knowledge of... YJ: MI Sun Tze, Shang Ji, maybe the Bao Troops. Nomads: Grenzers ( Just gib moar models pls. ), Brigadas(?), perhaps the Lizard could get a Raicho treatment? PanO: T e u t o n s. Otherwise... maybe touch Order Sergeants a bit? Or Orcs?
USAriadna: Minutemen - Need something to make them worth it, not sure what but I never seem to get much success out of this unit Unknown Ranger - Too expensive to take Nothing else bugs me Nomads: Metor Zond - reduce by 0.5 SWC Carlota - Cheaper or something more unique than glue Lizard - new model
