A base that is an arctic sheet? Cool. Next one will be a field of wheat?* This I understand completely. <glances at his 10 Yu Jing minis... grimaces.> Red Ochre is a nice stand in color, if you don't want to go full red. That's how I'm doing the Space Hippie minis which I have. *Mancunians will get the reference. Maybe.
Working on a white porcelain style of mask, maybe need to do more contrasting, but painting white is a royal shit.
Tories are Stone Roses fans? That seems... passing strange. Must be all the glue their MPs are tripping on. A tint of a very light purple to the gray base coat helps much when painting white in many cases. Amusing to see the holder accommodates hexagonal bases.
Sorry mate, I completely missed this post! Basecoat: VMC Sky Grey Wash (x2): VMW Light Grey Drybrush: VMC Sky Grey Drybrush: VMC White Glaze: (Multiple, Thin): VMC Turquoise. Optional: Drybrush VMC White.
Hilarious. Anyway, I was thinking this song, Elephant Stone. 3rd line or 4th of the song. Look at the face of the Danavas for the purple effect. It looks as if Angel started with a darker purple. IIRC my color theory, it also helps keep the white from looking greenish, especially when it is next to a red. He did not do it on the new Asuras it would seem. The concept art does it for the white bodysuit. Spoiled for size. It is how I will paint my the white for my Vedics-- the ones that I don't use in ASA anyways-- when I get around to getting them and then, painting them. I am a sloooow painter. Spoiler
No worries, thanks! It looks like there's some texture on the base before you painted it. Is that correct? Keep up the good work!
Yes buddy, it's mostly dried liquid green stuff (my CA bases use the same method, I posted it on an earlier page), then thinly spread out Agrellan Earth to smoothen some parts, with a very tiny bit of Stirland Mud spread to create some small dots of grain texture.
Thanks bud, I am finding it difficult to shade, I am not sure I own a colour dark enough. I've picked up Dark Prussian Blue and I'll start to highlight it up and then go back and shade it selectively if it needs it.
I have that color. It is a nice dark blue and I use it for my Prussian Landwehr Regiment colored MRRF force. Hopefully it is the right shade for your current blue.
Need to hit another glaze on the mask I think to match the staff head, but getting there steadily. I'm leaving the country for a few weeks tomorrow, so I'll continue when I return.
