why would you not take the HDoc? honestly its a staple go to choice and one of the best reasons to run vanilla. HI Docs are rare
@kanluwen they seem to be the only non merc in pan-o with them if I’m not mistaken(I’ve only dabbled in Pan-O waiting for Varuna, I’m a sucker for aquatic stuff lol)
He featured in probably 4/5 Vanilla lists I write. Great stats, durable specialist, good shooter, even good in CC if you can get his Palbot in for B2. Reasonably costed too, if you avoid triggering Frenzy too soon.
And here I am still hoping the Father Knight makes it into Varuna so I can actually justify taking him for once.
That would require 1) FK being present in VIRD 2) FK getting "nice thing" 3) FK being able to link with anyone #rememberpanoandnicethings

You made a statement about actually taking a Father Knight in Varuna with them being able to link with Fusiliers--the Fusiliers are in MO as well. If you want them Linkable with a FK, ask for it there. Not in Varuna.
Well I don't like military orders, or play them, or would want to take a father knight over the other knights in that sectorial. I don't know why you have to shit all over my hopes and dreams for Varuna, but thank you for the advice

If you don't like Military Orders or play them, why do you care about the Father Knight enough to want him in Varuna for a Fusilier link? Why do you think people who are interested in Varuna would want your Father Knight wishlisting crapping all over their hopes for the Sectorial?
Well when one start to think about it then some link of Fusilier x3 (HMG, Combi, FO/LGL) with Bipandra and FK (Spitfire/ML) could make sense.... (again they would have to port FK to VIRD, and then actually do this horrible thing and adhere to his fluff (it's horrible because PanO shits on it's own fluff))
why do you care so much what I want in Varuna? Oh it probably won't happen, but once again, I think it would breath new life into an awesome model and a semi-interesting profile that no one seems to take.

He might be a "semi-interesting profile that no one seems to take"...but when he's in Vanilla and Military Orders only, it kinda makes sense that you don't see him as much wouldn't you think?
Don't get me wrong, FK needs something to be actually taken (being able to freely link is such a thing), as right now only Spitfire profile is useful (but hard to fit inside MO), FO is "undergunned specialist", AHD is "KHD pretty please don't kill me when I do Highly Classified", and ML is a joke if used as an ARO (and usually MO doesn't have enough orders, have other cheaper tools to use coordinated order attacks). Also FK DUO is really an expensive abomination :( So again, not saying it's a "bad" idea (well according to "the fluff" FK should/could be link leaders or have some "encourage" abilities), but just saying that seeing that in VIRD do require a bit of work and dedication.
Of the currently existing orders/type of knights, he seems most likely, if only because he's the one with the least fluff/backstory tying him to someplace specific.
