I'd say you did not went the most efficient way to buy stuff (but I understand you went with the best looking models... of which you will be spoiled in the CA!).

For future buyings, I suggest the Support Pack, a 2nd blister of Ikadron+Imetron, and one of the EI Aspects (depending on what you want to do, the Charontid is an exceedingly good HMG platform you can play as Lt, and worry only about effects that might leave him Isolated, and the Skiavoros is a great utility Lt for support duties). As for TAGs, you can wait as long as you want to get them (it is not a good idea to play much with "Rambo units", to avoid dependency, but the same could be applied to the Charontid), but the Sphinx is all-time favourite, and the Xeodrons pack a punch for their cost (plus, add a small magned on their back, and you only need to remove the arm from the missile launcher arm of the remotes, slap a neomidium magnet there, and get a instant Overdrone!).

    Thank for the advice,

I've actually ordered an Anathematic, Overdron and Noctifer Missile Launcher.

Only after the order did I see the write up on the Charontid.... which seems super powerful... I'm hoping TO camo will make up for my blunder

    Hello Rift

Don't get too attached to the lists; I can count on my fingers the instances I've played with the same list twice. List building is a very fluid affair in this game :)

First of all it's best to get some training at lower point level - start at 100/150 pts, play a few games, add another 50, play a few more, repeat until getting to 300 pts. It gives a good foundation to build on, allows you to learn the basics without getting overwhelmed, and gives you a good deal of knowledge about your faction.

There are also some basic guidelines to consider when building a list:

    - Orders are life: you want to have at least 8 Regular orders in your main combat group, so usually you won't go overboard with Irregular, TO or AD troops.

    - Weapons: it's usually important to cover all range bands. Good rule of thumb is to have at least one long range weapon (sniper rifle or missile launcher), 1 HMG as a general go-to, 1-2 Spitfires on assault troops. If you plan for close quarters battle (CQB), you might want to fit in some templates, shotguns, and so on. They're also a good deterrents for your defense. This is of course for 300 pts - in lower point games there's not enough SWC to fit everything.

    - Specialists: 5-6 various specialists both for scoring and dealing with various situations. Engineer is invaluable if you run TAGs, Heavy Infantry or Remotes. Doctor is useful most of the time. Forward Observers are good ARO troops, able to blind enemy units temporarily. And I see you already know about hackers ;)

Your list is solid. There's always room for some tweaks, but in general I like it.

    Happy hunting!

I completely agree with the previous posts. On the buy-list, I'd just add one or two Daturazi (or proxy them if you prefer) for the smoke + MSV2 classic, and because they're cheaper than the Oznat.
The rest is pretty good. Welcome aboard !

Awesome, thanks for all the help.

Yes, definitely looking at the Daturazi...mimetism is pretty big!

The Anatematic has a small problem, that being you need to deploy it as a marker if you want to use it as a Lt, but aside from that... it's solid (just not my cup of tea because I won't be mounting his antennae, wich are the element that upgrades the great miniature to gorgeous!), and you can really pull a lot of shenanigans with it, including the hacker ones.

The overdron, I'm not a fan, I prefer to use a converted xeodron, but the dual sniper is solid aswell. I suggest, however, you pick some magnets to be able to mount and unmount the sniper rifles it has on the shoulders, for transportation (they can bend easily).

Nope, the pretty big part of them is 14pts AM4 regular smoke troop XD. The mimetism just compensates for their inhability of using cover, i'm afraid, since they are extremely impetous (so they will charge onwards from the get go!). Get some MSV2 models to use that smoke and you are good (the Charontid is a good combo because of that, but the Maakrep can serve aswell, or you can get a Yaogat)

The daturazi are cheaper, more survivable thanks to their mimetism, and their melee capacity is an extra bonus. The Oznat only has range, which might be better, but...

Be careful however, since Eclipse smoke can't be penetrated by MSV or normal vision, and then a Hacker Plus (CA, Aleph, Nomads) can use White Noise (hacking program that makes "MSV-only smoke") can ruin your day.
