I'd have no problem with them having like an AVA of 5 or something. IA is going to need those cheap troops. Zuyong are cheap for what they are but not that cheap! It would be cool if Zhanshi get a link with HI too.

As far as Aleph, if there's none of their own Doctor or Engineers I hope they'd at least get the Sophotech. She's done fantastic for me in ISS.

Why though? How does this tie into Yu Jing and Invincible Army besides being marginally useful?

It's HI support of course. the "Netrod" is put on the battle field to support the HI as the move in. Also it's just something to make them different from Netrods and Imetrons. Netrods have something for Jumpers I think but other than that it's not much. It's cheap orders that can do a little more than just sit there to get destroyed.

Yeah, but as a faction we solved that with Kuang Shi. IA isn't getting those, and I fail to see how it would tie in to the faction.
Stick an EVO on a HI? Sure. Stick an EVO on a light infantry... okay, sure... Yanying and all that. But an Evorod is just plain fishing for orders and trying to solve a problem that might not exist. I do think there are going to be better solutions if you need more orders.

Not to mention that this faction isn't likely going to be designed to field more than at most 15 orders (if you really push the boundaries.)

Well, the thread is about Aleph and other than a Sophotech, a Netrod-like thing was possibly the only Aleph troop I'd want. Everything else I can't see associating with IA on the ground. I'm trying to be imaginative with it.

Well, if you look at it from the other direction; Invincible Army is the faction most involved in combating Combined Army and one of the biggest reasons that JSA managed to secede at all is that a vast amount of Yu Jing's forces are deployed in joint Human Sphere operations lead by Aleph assets. It's also the reason why Pan-O's relatively puny fleet managed to Iron Curtain (or whatever) on Earth.

I'd say literally any unit that isn't a character from Aleph's Operations or Assault would be deployed during extended periods of time under the direct command of Invincible Army commanders. The question is, which of these units are sufficiently entangled such that they could be recruited on the Invincible Army's dirty black ops? It's gonna be units that bring something that Invincible don't do already, and it's gonna be on the valuable side of things.
The only reason I don't think it's gonna be Consultants is because of COC being entangled in the command structure, but I nearly managed to persuade myself that Consultants makes sense writing this.

Edit: No, I did manage to convince myself that Shukra makes sense. Damned.
Edit 2: While "puny" is a biased way of describing it, it's still not as mighty as the Yu Jing counter-part

Invicible army has very high aims and naturally a boast that every member of your military is equipped with top of the range brand new world beating power armour and weaponry is of course true. No soldier will be left with substandard equipment in a crisis, the supply chain will never fail, we need no contingency plans! and reliance on outdated equipment is utterly impossible.

I think that taking a "known gaps" approach is useful.

IA seems likely to be hacking light.

IA seems likely to be Infiltration light.

IA seems likely to be Camo/TO light.

    etc.

Now I would glance at that, and noting that we haven't seen overlap in the use of ALEPH units between different sectorals yet, and think that Danavas and Dasyu are likely.

The Shukra Consultant I see as unlikely because of the role I expect for the Shang Ji.

We've only seen three troops to come though. We have no idea on others. Even though it's the Invincible Army and Yu Jing is known for Heavy Infantry, PanO will have YJ tied for number of HI. YJ 10+3. PanO 13 as of now.

I mean sure, I'd love to see Sophotects in my army, but then again what faction wouldn't?

I'd welcome any ALEPH support. It seems sufficiently fluff based to me.

Yep 10 orders 20 wounds but not twice resistant ones, just +2BS, +2ARM. And of course you have all your orders happily gathered. You can loose 1 order for each burst of a HMGish weapon. Of course the enemy will have plenty of orders to spend on their spearheads to crush your order pool. I think 10 order lists need something to stand equal to regular lists. Counterinteligence, strategos, NCO... we'll see how they've confronted this problem when they finally publish IA lists.

The Sophotect is unlikely to have a spot in invincible. We will have gongcheng and Yisheng for sure, and Haidao is likely to be a Engineer HI

And I don't know is netrods would fit IA... they're suposed to be infrastructure for Ghost (Remote presence, jumper,...) and Aleph proxies support

Dasyu are also unlikely to be in Invincible. Don't expect aleph infiltrators when we have zencha and posibly AVA1 of ninjas

Invincible has lots of gaps. Not just hacking, infiltration and camo.
How are we suposed to deal with camos? how are we suposed to deal with AD troopers? how are we supposed to deal with impersonators? How are we suposed to defend deployment when our main an only defense will be a core of HI that will need to advance in order to take objectives

we are short on direct template weaponry (Just shangji and Luduan), we have scarce speculatives (just zanshi), scarce on visors, scarce on sensors, no Holoproyectors to clean minefields... Our defenses are mainly composed of combi-like weapons or BSs...

And supportware is likely to be an unavoidable toll. Probably the main bulk of our list will be hackable and with BTS3. Fairy dust or reboot will probably be a must. And it'll be hard and expensive order spend on a 10 order list.

I just hope some of those concerns will be answered. For example by granting panguling EVO some defensive tools like the heavy pistol of the CBL list. Some free cap minelayers or perimetrals, more freecap deflectors like the Shang-JI's,... and of course more means to add value and importance to that 2wound troops, medjectors and an akbar doctor would be soo good....

Camo? Sensor and MSV on remotes.
    AD? Total Reaction remotes.
    Impersonators? having 2W.

Right now, I'm thinking that we're more likely to have ~6-7 HI and 3-4 REMs in a list.

I hope for another line trooper, something we lost due the uprising. What i can imagine would be on a Grunt-Like Mi with Combi or some kind of "heavy mobility armor for Linetroops" with arm 3, still 4-4 but only 1 w in the 10-15 point range. That's nothing impossible if we consider that Aleph already has LI with ARM 3 (and we are the HI / Mass faction, some kind of augmentend Armor for the masses shouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities) the pointcost could even be reduced with the heavyweight trait what really would be hillarious :D.

Because i saw the Guijia in the leaked IA picture, i think it is mandatory that we have a cheap(er) Core option so we can put him/her on the table. an heavy armored "LI" profile would give us a second Linetrooper profile in vanilla that wouldn't be "just a point cheaper/more expensive" and it would fit the IA Heavy armored Theme.

Based on what we’ve seen with heavy infantry links recently, I think there are a couple of options.

A cheap zuyong filler with an smg or chain rifle. Or both.

Linked remotes with higher ava than in vanilla.

Linked light infantry specialists that are attached to heavy infantry links.

All of these options (except the zuyong which is represented by the Wu Ming) are in the closed battle lists. That’s the public test run, and I think that is where the results will spring from. At least, that’s my guess.
