So, had a situation on one of my last tables that generated a bit of doubt:

Enemy camo marker moved right besides one of my troops in Hidden Deployment. I revealed the trooper, making his ARO a Delay.

Then,m on the second action of the order, the camo revealed himself shooting at something. My HD trooper got to fire on his troop.

So far so good. But discussing it later, we had a couple of questions:

    1) Did I really need to reveal the HD troop with a delay action? I would have had no action if I did not reveal it, would I?
    2) Could the active player do something that would force my ARO to happen before his second action? Cancelling his camo or something else?

    You played it right.
If the HD model hadn't be placed and declared an "wait", he would have missed his chance to declare an ARO even if the enemy Camo revealed itself.

    BUT...

If the second skill of the Camo had been another move, your model would lose the ARO chance

Yes, I suggest you read the FAQ document, since it is covered there. You need to declare "Delay" with any troop that you want to use it ARO against a marker, which means Hidden Deployment troops need to "reveal as TO camo" to declare that Delay.
If the other marker were to do any action that would not reveal it, even if it's moving into LoF of another of your models (which would declare Discover, there is no reason to do anything else in the second short order of a marker) and be turned to a miniature, then yeah, you would lose the ARO of the TO... but you would still have it in TO marker state. Which is fun when a camoed hackable troop gets inside of the ZoC of a Hidden Deployment troop, you ask "is this marker hackable?" And when a Yes is given, a TO marker shows up...

    2) He can do another move, or declare Idle, then on his next order declare Discover + Surprise Attack against your TO marker (mind you, unless it's an Intruder, doing so it's quite the suicidal approach), or declare Dodge as his second order (kinda useless since he will reveal itself and you can simply do nothing with yout TO... or worse, if inside ZoC you might be able to hack his trooper!); he can do nothing on the current order to fire at yout TO.

    Aren't Camo markers never hackable?

Delay isn't an ARO, but you have to specify what trooper or marker is delaying and against what enemy trooper or marker they are delaying against - hence the FAQ specifying that delaying will remove Hidden Deployment.

    A few problems with this;
Mainly consider that a camouflaged trooper can not be hacked and their hackable characteristic is personal information, this is not information you are allowed to have.
Also consider that your position and your characteristic as a hacking capable trooper is personal information, I would say that the minimum requirement is for your opponent to at least be allowed to verify the location of the TO trooper (i.e. get out of HD before asking).

While I agree that a camo/TO camo marker cannot be hacked (you need to Discover it first, or it needs to discover itself), Hackable is an Obligatory characteristic, meaning that it cannot be waived/ignored.

Also, Infinity asks for fair play and good behaviour, both players have to provide the ARO to make the game go faster, etc..., so if I ask if that marker is hackable, you can be sure I sincerely think it is inside my Hacking Area, and if we are playing a serious game, unless we agreed beforehand not to mark the hidden deployment markers, you can ask me for the photo/notes on placing (I'm quite the O-C because if geniuses were measured by their aloofness, then I could give Einsten a run for his money... it wouldn't be the first game I lose because I forget about a troop. Neither the 10th...).
And the last time that happend, it was my Vedic forces (+2 bodyguard myrmidons for my Asura) against Shasvastii... and a Sphinx-Sized TO marker went inside my Mk2 AHD's ZoC, so you can imagine I didn't even had to ask (and since there was no LoF, my opponent also knew exactly that it was either an Mk2 AHD or a Dasyu AHD).

And your opponent replies with 'Why are you asking about private Information?'. As Mahtamori says, that's not information that's revealed, and as Wyrmnax says, you can't hack a Camo/TO Camo marker anyway.

Then my Hidden Deployment AHD/KHD cannot declare Delay? How should we play that, we go back to the old, pre-FAQ situation where the miniature would do his thing, then suddenly a Hidden Deployment enemy shows up from nowhere giving to option but to suck it up?

So, let's say a Zero AHD moves in camo state inside a Ninja KHD in Hidden Deployment ZoC. Since, as you say, I cannot declare Delay (I don't know what is under that marker), then I say nothing, and the Zero goes and tries to hack my Kanren (for example), which happens to be an Holo2 empty marker... and I say "oh, and now this ninja shows up, and KHD your Zero, who can't do a thing but roll BTS".

Your ability to delay does not come from having a hacking device, it comes from the enemy being a camouflage marker in this case. You may only declare Discover, Change Facing, and Dodge. If you do get an ARO, you may also Delay (again, not an ARO).

So if the enemy moves behind a wall (i.e. out of line of fire from your HD hacker) using Stealth, you don't get to know if it's hackable and you don't get an ARO and you don't get to Delay. If the second short skill reveals, then you get an ARO and get to do normal rolls.

Yes, though the Kanren's Holoecho is not a Trooper and the Zero will detect that the Holoecho is not hackable if I have been following recent Holoecho rules questions.

Edit: Keep in mind that if the Zero is camouflaged, then both the Holoecho and the Zero's hackable binaries are unknown for both players, so... er...

Simplify to an EVO if you prefer. But yeah, the conundrum is there.
