Make it BS13, the only HIs with lesser BS are those degenerates traitors with their katanas (and other melee afficionados). Though it would be a good way to make it appear more as a specialist skirmisher than a mid-field brawler. As far as price goes the submachine gun should be enough to have some very cheap profiles, but who knows how they'll price its skirmish skills: Camo + infiltration is around 15points on the daofei so yeah limited camo + mimetism + forward deployement , otherwise it would be too expensive (also there's more and more units with those skills lately, making it even more likely imo). A limited camo minelayer profile could lead to some interesting shell games to help dissimulate a tiger soldier/Liu Xing. Final note: minelayer + nullifier would be awesome for an HI army, and the claws on the foot makes me think it might get multi-terrain as well.
If he's a skirmisher he's very likely to get Multi-Terrain anyway. Almost all do. I'd also like a Sniffer with or without Minelayer. Especially if they are going against JSA.
An up-armored role similar to the Ryuken-9, exchanging ODD + X-Visor for better durability, Specialist, and additional short-range weapons sounds like a pretty good design. He sure looks like Heavy Infantry, but has the term "Heavy Infantry" been confirmed? In both the video and seminar, I recall the term "heavily armored" being applied. That sure seems to imply HI, and I think it's a safe bet given that we're talking about Invincible Army, but do we know this for sure? It could be that we're seeing another offering to Yu Jing's very restricted category of Medium Infantry...
*looks at Sun Tze v1* *scratches head* The dossier is a heavy infantry. If it's not heavy infantry, then the iconography and tells of heavy infantry has changed completely. I don't think it's worth speculating about whether it's heavy infantry, because that's the only information we have to go on.
To be fair, Sun Tze v1 doesn't need that BS when he was a WIP 17 Flash Pulse. And 2 Nanopulsers. And a Boarding Shotgun to iron out that 12 BS. AND Total Immunity with Mimetism and V:NWI. Guy's nearly as durable as a goddamn TAG TBH-
I'm super excited about this unit. SMG/shotgun + dep + mines sounds like a fun skirmisher. Not to mention the extra wound to tank a mine or template.
When you're an essentially immortal transhuman tank, I think he'd be wasted off the battlefield! Also, he's got to keep his military tactics in good shape, so it would make sense for him to get out and practice/experience current and new field practices.
I don't really think good old suntzy will stay only on ISS. I somehow expect the 1.0 version to be able to deploy on Invincible and be part of a HI linkteam. On the other hand, The 2.0 version armor was Designed in between old crane and old pheasant design.
Sun1 is surprisingly only PH12, he can barely keep up with Zuyong, let alone the better HI. Which is pretty funny for someone in a Hsien armor!
Well, he's not got the PH, sure, but he's still got N:WI and Total Immunity which translates to some serious physical advantages over other HI!
A bit slow in the reactions for a HI, but shoot him with a missile in the groin and he just gets angry about the noise.
I love the loadouts, but nwi and 1 wound gah thats a bad time for the assault hacker against trinity users it's 41pts!
Also a YJ Heavy with BS12! Sorry, pseudo-Heavy. Why the hell did they bother making him a hackable heavy in the first place?
This is the problem with both of the revealed profiles: "why did they bother to make them HI?" Both profiles would be vastly improved by simply making them LI, SK, or even MI instead. Instead, we get hackable versions of things other factions have had for aeons. The Zencha makes me specifically mad because it is a perfect example of why the SMG is problematic. The non-SMG profiles are basically overstuffed and pricier than they really need to be. But slap an SMG on that thing and use the deficit to buy a bunch of extra utility and suddenly the profile is usable to the point that it obviates the other two in its own sectorial. They literally could have just printed the SMG-wielding Zencha profile because that's the only one that will see play now. Which of course means the Boarding Shotgun will be out first and the SMG Zencha will get stuffed in to an updated starter full of units no one wants any more of ~4 years from now. Though at least it manages to hold on to PH13, the poor Xiu Ling basically has MI-tier stats (worse in many ways since the Tiger beats it in a fair few categories) and manages to stuff both Kinematika and a rule that only triggers off of using AD3+ on a model with PH12. Why bother making AD HI that offers literally nothing more than merely being a hackable version of the pseudo multi-wound AD troops we've seen in the past? The more I think about these two units, the more defeated I feel. If these are the worst we're going to see, then maybe there is hope, but if they chose these profiles to hype the IA release then I'm very afraid that they considered these to be good enough to be buzz worthy. The profiles feel a day late and a dollar short. They aren't doing anything really out there, the Zencha would be improved simply by making it a SK and dumping the armour down, the Xiu Ling would honestly be improved by becoming MI (and losing some MOV and ARM). The SMG Zencha may see some vanilla use, but the Xiu Ling is literally not worth taking over the Tiger. I really hope this isn't as good as it gets, because to replace the JSA the IA needed to be firing on all cylinders. We're two profiles in and the early offerings feel lackluster and not worth the effort.
I wouldnt feel that defeated, they are useful 0swc troops both, the zencha will be an arm 3 specialist getting to and holding objectives with little order expenditure using mines, suppression (with its SMG) secondary role messing about with climbing plus will come up sometimes. Lui xing multi rifle specialist with d-charges will be great for dropping on a good target (sometimes killing it by accident), tanking a wound from the ARO and then clearing the backfield (~75% of the time assuming you also brought your evo). Its not a tiger, tigers are far superior, cheaper conventional drop troops, no contest, lui xing is something else, and it needed to be, having played a lot with yuan yuans recently, some things you are just supposed to be reckless with, whether that will work on such an expensive platform remains to be seen.
It's funny how many times I've been shouted down on FB for suggesting there is something very fishy about SMG pricing.
