I reckon it won't be too long until we get a CJC redo, tbh. Maybe next year. I thought it wouldn't happen, but then they redid the Intruder Sniper, and that was a lovely mini from around the same time. And the CJC starter is a little defunct these days anyway, because you get the Alguacile Hacker in the old Alguacile style, and there's even a new one that's in a blister! No no, I reckon we'll get a Wildcat SWC box at some point with a redone Spitfire and HRL and new Boarding Shotgun and Hacker minis, and a redone CJC starter with an Intruder combi, three Wildcat Combis, a Wildcat hacker/bsg and... I dunno, maybe a redone Moran? Then you'd just need a Hellcat blister or two, maaaaybe a second Moran in a blister, Carlotta and that's basically all of CJC redone. Six releases max? CB could knock that out in 9-10 months once they've done the Tunguska stuff, 2019 into 2020 I reckon that's what we'll see.
Moran can't make it in there, sadly. The Crazy Koalas would take up a slot. The Hellcat blister that exists now would be a likely candidate for a resculpt(Hacker & BSG--they pulled the HMG from the Hacker+HMG, which was just bizarre IMO). Tomcats could really use a resculpt for the Engineer, Combi Rifle+DEP and Combi Rifle+E/Mitter profiles. The Doctor looks fine and the Zondcat's okay. Engineer or one of the other profiles could be put into a new starter set and the current box just gets shifted to be 'new' with the leftovers and Dr+Zondcats repacked. There's enough Wildcat profiles that we could go either the Tunguska route of 3x Combi Rifles or the SAA route where you get 4 that have different profiles and then the remaining two models are just kinda there. Intruders could use a Hacker model and/or a new CR+LFT model. Legitimately could just do with an alternate head and backpack like the Keisotsu Butai box does for their Hacker. I'd expect something like this, if we go the Tunguska route: Spoiler Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 6 INTRUDER Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 35) WILDCAT Lieutenant Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 19) WILDCAT Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 19) WILDCAT Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 19) HELLCAT HMG, E/Mauler / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 31) TOMCAT Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D.E.P. / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 19) 2 SWC | 142 Points Open in Infinity Army If we go the SAA route(i.e. "mishmash" route), I'd expect something like this: Spoiler Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 6 WILDCAT Boarding Shotgun, Stun Grenades, Deployable Repeater / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 17) WILDCAT Lieutenant Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 19) WILDCAT Heavy Rocket Launcher / Assault Pistol, Knife. (2 | 20) WILDCAT Spitfire / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 24) INTRUDER Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower / Pistol, CCW. (0.5 | 43) TOMCAT Engineer Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 22) 4 SWC | 145 Points Open in Infinity Army
A Tomcat in the starter would allow them to do a support box style release for 2 other with the 2 Zondcats. Wildcats are the reason I started Nomads, I was pretty disappointed when the models were in hand, they are tiny and the detail is shallow, they were not fun to paint. Modern ones would be an auto buy for me.
I don´t think, the HMG HC will be back as a resculpt, now that we have the Spitfire in the Beyond Box. Maybe the option will stay, but I think it will not be released again. In my opinion WCs don´t need a resculpt anyway soon. So it will be only the rifle one for a starter (or a paramedic, pointing with a medikit ;-). Intruder realy could be a hacker model. If WCs are getting a box of their own with Spitfire, HRL and Hacker that will leave one space, so maybe one standard WC (or a new weapon ... maybe Feuerbach) in SWC Box, that will leave 2 till 3 for the starter. Assuming 3 a AD Trooper will make sense next - here i like the idea of Jim, one TC in the starter, Doc and Eng as a support box. I could see a Moran here, because hey bring a S5 HI in the Tunguska Starter, so why not a Moran in a CJC Starter?
They actually changed the Hellcat HMG from what it originally was. It now also has an E/Mauler. Also, you're wildly out of it if you think the Wildcats don't need a resculpt. ;) There's enough profiles for Wildcats that they can fill out a 5 model set themselves, with no duplication beyond the Hacker. A box would likely be: Spitfire HRL Hacker Boarding Shotgun+Deployable Repeater. That still lets you put 3 CR+LFTs into the starter set, and heck if you wanted to? One could be modeled as an Engineer in some form(extra pouches, a wrench, whatever). Moran require 2 Crazy Koalas. The Kriza Borac didn't require any extra gubbins. It's just a big model. Since Crazy Koalas are counted as part of the model count for whatever silly reason, it would be inadvisable to wish for this. Regarding Tomcats: There's 3 distinct profiles: Combi Rifle+LFT and DEP Combi Rifle+E/Mitter Combi Rifle+LFT E/Mitter and LFT both have additional gubbins(E/Mitter has AP Mines and LFT has D-Charges on the Engineer) that could be modeled or could be skipped. Ideally, a Tomcat box would be the Doctor and Engineer plus a Zondcat and whatever profile isn't in the CJC resculpt box.
Why can't the composition of the CJC starter be the same as it was? Is there some problem I am missing? 3 wildcats with CR are always played when you play a full linkteam. Hellcat with CCW "can be anyone for you, baby" Intruder CR, while the lesser useful model, could be easily used for really any type of intruder, since they basically live 2/3 of the game in camo state
I could not see a CCW Hellcat, but a Combi Rifle covers five profiles (Combi Rifle, Combi Rifle & Adhesive Launcher, Combi Rifle & Deployable Repeater, Paramedic, Lieutenant). The box I would design is: 3 x Wildcat Combi Rifle, 1 x Intruder Combi Rifle, 1 x Hellcat Combi Rifle, 1 x Bandit Combi Rifle. I think 2 x AD in a starter box would be one too many (and I play AD heavy). The Combi Rifle is probably the least-played Bandit Profile, but the only one we really still need. As for Tomcats, I think three minis are enough. Doctor, Engineer, Combi Rifle. The three subtle variations on Combi Rifle (D.E.P., E/Mitter, Deployable Repeater) do not really need different minis. I would not be able to tell the difference between a Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower or Combi Rifle + E/Mitter without picking the mini up from the table and examining closely, so I would just trust my opponent to tell the truth when they deploy.
As a Tohaa player, those "Infiltration+Camo LSG Bandit" is one of the worst things I can face. A ten of ten trooper, great profile and great model.
True, but we already have two shotgun minis (the Hacker mini has a Light Shotgun and would easily work for all Light Shotgun profiles). A third shotgun would be pretty silly, on an AVA 2 model ;)
Yes I know, but around the same time they kicked some HMG AD-Troops out. Sry - I mean the Hellcats, i got mixed up with the cats regarding the resculpts. But the Wildcats (especially the females) are very good models in my opionion, but here I like a resculpt too, because they suffered from the scale changes. You are right - thought the hacker has the boarding too. This is a good idea. I thought more of the amount of metal ;-)
Metal's not the sole consideration - the lifespan of the mould might come into it as well as the time/energy input required. A smaller mini could actually be less economical to make sometimes.
I'll still stick with broaster, rather than fried... broaster, some steak fries and arroz con queso? ¡Por fa!
Based on most of the other comments and looking at scheduled releases for September and October.... It's a grease-absorbing tray for fried chicken.
