I may be off a point here or there, but I don't think it matters much. Shock and NWI combines well, true, but it's still an upgraded Bolt.

With 11 different stats/skills/equipment, everything can be upgraded bolt :P . Yadu is not overpowered but much more durable platform with interesting weapons and not combi+lsg. In OSS, they'll have better link options than bolts in NCA.

Yadu aren't upgraded Bolts, they're literally a Sukeul without Mimetism on the first Wound.
Similar weapon kits, statline, Veteran, don't give a shit about Hacking, E/M, Jammers or whatever.

So far they're a little less efficient than the Tohaa poster child gunner, but that is still pretty up there.
NCO, E/Marat, Drop Bears, various weapon options, a character and the upcoming Link options will make Yadu truly solid.

As someone who values Aleph for tournaments. The problem seems that Aleph is extremely spoiled with Achilles, Frenzied Myrmidions and borderline broken Posthumans.
Some of us seem to be unable to cope with a normal Profile that doesn't border on an insult to the boundaries of game mechanics.

You mean, we'll get multiple easy'n'cheap 3-man links with HFT and CoC for cheap, plus Symbiomates? Because that's what makes Sukeuls a problem in game. The cheap full wound Symbiont Armour gives is just a final slap in the face. And poor Sukeuls, dying to single failed save against Viral...

... I apologise, oh mighty fountain of Infinity skill, please forgive me, a poor pleb who cannot play without OP troopers. Please forgive this poor soul as it cries for something interesting, instead of yet another dead unit to ignore when listbuilding. Your wisdom shines through us all and teaches us good play!

They are BORING. They are upgraded Bolts, with all the gameplay interest of paint drying. They don't do anything particularly well themselves, they don't have much tools (Drop Bears? At that price?!), and they don't benefit the rest of the list in any appreciable way.

Nope just the Sukeul in worse and slightly different. No Kaeltars. Just the B- middlechild that could always try as hard as it wanted but never got mommy and daddy's attention it craved so badly.

Veteran, Shock Immunity, NWI, decent gun, DTW that screws about everything that is more expensive than them, Drop Bears to defend against CC or do nasty things to Links (again with the E/Marat).

BOOORING ALRIGHT, that's what you call 3 useful Skills and 3 weapons on a Profile.
Gosh I feel dumb now, how could I miss that. Below 7 distinct traits in Aleph (we're not gonna count DUO, DUO is shite), PanO and JSA must have ruined my sense of perception...

I think we're looking at two different units here. This is the perfect example of how elite assault unit that's not a full HI should look.

They have great stats, access to multiple useful kinds of ammo and useful specialists, are incredibly resilient, and their loadouts are well constructed and cover all ranges up to 32" in a very good way. This unit will absolutely murder anything we'll point it at. They also have built-in Duo, a Haris profile, and are rumoured to have bigger flexibility - so I imagine it'll be possible for them to drag some cheaper but useful specialist behind. Yadu clears the way, specialist secures objective.

Oh, and they're also hard counter for Ghazi Muttawi'ah.

If Bolts were upgraded to halfway this level of power they'd be awesome.

I donno man, they seem good. They don't have some insane new special ability, but not everything has to. Yadu seem like something the OSS side of ALEPH doesn't really have right now, and while they're not some kind of weird jank, they are a versatile toolkit with above-average durability and pretty reliable ability to kill stuff.

What I'm really interested in is seeing how they link. CB has said that one of the big things about them is how many other models they can form fireteams with. The Haris with Shakti, a HMG Yadu, and another Yadu of some kind already seems pretty efficient.

They're a solid troop profile - especially for OS where they've been confirmed as linkable. If a link is, say, 3 Dakini/Danavas/Yadu - it's gonna be a solid af little unit. The Yadu basically brings tools to deal with things the Dakini would struggle against.

TAG at medium range - probably better dicing with Bs13 (16) MultiRifle on 4 dice than the MSR on 3
Heavy Inf/TAG at close range - e/Marat (before or after hacking with Danavas as required)
Troops with DTWs hiding around corners - drop bears

To be honest I had no idea what you meant by your OP. That Yadu we're weak because after a bunch of adjustments you could make them out of bolt stats? Or that Yadu we're weak because bolts ignore emarats? Or something?

Yeah, I get it, you don't like Yadu. Whatever.

I think they're great. Emarats screw any Rambo in the game. Nwi + shock immune is nearly as good as a second wound, compare them to generic HI like brigada or wu Ming.

They scream andriod going till they fall apart to me, like the abuse the major typically takes in ghost in the Shell.

Not everything in the game needs a unique rule to be interesting.

I just wanted to point out you're wrong... They have 4 useful weapons. ;-p

Heavy pistols, their main gun, emarat, and drop bears. (Not all those guns they've been previewed with use rifle range bands).

They have heavy pistols, dam 14 and shock is really really useful especially when your main gun doesn't like 0-8 range bands. It's even better when linked...

Why doesn't a multi rifle like 0-8 band? It's based of a combi rifle, not a standard rifle and so has +3...

The Yadu really seems like a toolbox piece, and with the exception of mutts and hecklers might not be your first choice to attack with, but is a definite capable backup.

They are considerably better than bolts with a second wound (I so rarely take a doctor with aleph now since its bots and nagas that do the heavy lifting when it comes to firefights.) And have a very useful secondary weapon. E/marat is a 50/50 chance at isolating a tag and can be used to intuitive attack too. They are also great at taking out link teams with drop bears and emarat if you can't face them 1 on 1.

Another whining post? The OSS profiles are not releases yet, we don't know anything about the rest of the weapons, etc... and there's already whiners, that's really sad. For what I saw, the yadu and shukras profiles are really interesting.
We need a number to call for a cry-cry-bulance :D

On general note: I think it's even easier to transision from hated Bolts to beloved Bagh-Mari with less effort.

Yadu seems as interesting "toolbox", hard hitting template to threaten HI/TAGs (in a really bad way), good main weapon (MultiRifle) and occasional gimmick/defense tool (dropbear, which can be really powerfull if Yadu can link with Dakinis). Only bloat I can see is mayby Heavy Pistol.

Her being "unhackable, E/M immune" HI also makes her great at clearing nearby Repeaters, Ghazi, E/Marat stuff and mines, something I value quite a lot as I'm coming from MO perspective.

Problem Bolt suffer is that they can only link with themselfs and if you make a Bolt link you have to forfeit a Fusilier link.

Yadu apparently won't suffer from this in any of ways as either they can totally go solo (HMG-NCO) or are rumored to have various link options (Bostria saying that they are a "link glue").

    Side note:

Damn OSS seems like Hassasin Bahram nightmare. Biometric Visor L2, CoC option, Ghazi killers (Yadu), MSV3 ( HB has not "that" big number of camos), big availability of Sensor.

Only thing OSS seems to worry about is not to get their Dakinis under Fiday shotgun template and they should be fine.

Well then perhaps Corvus Belli should consider being completely open and tell us what we are paying for BEFORE we buy it.

Both Shukra and Yadu profiles for the current game were released before the end of pre-order. They did tell you before you could buy.
