And the Yadu character is even better, a powerful soloist specialist that I'll probably try in Vanilla, unlinked.
Just crossed my mind, what if the abnormal cost upgrade for the new profile is an indicator of further changes to the Asura? Given the Interplanetario situation it could fit that they couldn't touch the base profile until after then. How much does Bioimmunity normally cost for example?
I agree, Its not that bad: Yes, she isn't the Heavy Hitter that you pour orders into it to do most of the damaging job like Achilles but she is a capable specialist that combines some support for the Remotes, that can hold herself in a shootout. She is a sturdy specialist that can go in & do objectives on hot zones and survive a hit, the Msv 3 against armies with tricks like camouflage is a decent aid while doing it or to clear you out of doubt of that token that could ruin your game.. She is expensive and there are units that could do one or other job better and are cheaper, but depending on the situation on a match; having that combination of possibilities on 1 order is nice.
Bostria said to expect a big update in Army later this year, not just adding the three new Sectorials (TAKOS and Varuna) but many tweaks to existing profiles.
About damn time. I'll see if my gripe with them not updating older profiles when new stuff comes around can be squashed.
I'll believe that change will be good when I'll see it, yeah. But the fact that they're admitting that changes are necessary is a good sign.
Well, we have some information now. Either Asura's other profiles go up by 2 points, or all MULTI Rifles go up by 2 points relative to Combi Rifle profiles, or all Hacking Device Plus go up by 2 points. Yaaaaay!
Nonononono, that would hurt Nomads :P Seriously, though - Asura will have its place in sectorial, even at this price. And those two points might be some minor fuckup, wouldn't be the first.
So wait most of PanO HI which is worth their point (all but ORCs) get more expensive, and we now have more T2 ammo and various E/M on the field ? GJ CB, GJ.
For context the information came after someone asked if we'd see more updated profiles like the Raicho, after consulting with his minder Bostria said they planned to do more updates based on ITS data of less used profiles, and that there would be a number in the big update when it comes.
Based on what Colbrook is saying...I don't think it's necessarily going to be as good as people hope. Especially if it's based off ITS data.
It's an imperfect tool, but I don't expect all issues to magically disappear. I expect at least some good changes, and this alone will make the game better.
Indeed. How about listing a few awesome things about our new tools? I, for one, really love these new Lieutenant options we've gotten. The Yadu and the Shukra are both amazing. Especially the Shukra, even if he only works as such for the sectorial. What do you guys think about the Yadu Lieutenant as compared to some of the greek options of similar point cost in Vanilla? We have strong contenders there such as Machaeon, Eudoros and Ajax. The increased validity of a REM-heavy list is also great. The Rudras is a strong frontpiece for such a force. The Dakini core linkteam could potentially be insanely strong with the Apsara, and EVO shenanigans with the many many repeating bots we have access to sounds like good fun. Finally, i can get sweet revenge against my friend for his dumb drop-bear spam tactics with his NCO by doing it myself with the Yadu link. And the shock immunity on the Yadu linkteam will also get me an edge against his many multi-rifles.
Dart is pure load of awesome. Shukra is boring. Lets face it. He's there to be put there and ignored. It's a waste of a profile. We could've gotten equivalent/similar Deva profiles, been even happier as our nice Deva sculpts now have a purpose and still had a new unit slot to fill. Instead we get... A guy to place in the table and try to pretend he doesn't exist so the opponent doesn't remember either. Please don't even bother comparing Yadu Lt to Machaon. It's just sadness. Machaon is both useful and fun to play with. Yadu is just kinda there. Personally I'll never use them, but I can see people using them. Just not exciting at all. Rudras... We know very little about them so far. Withholding judgement until we have the full picture. Same for Apsaras. If your opponent is giving you trouble with Bolts, I guess Yadu will be great for you! I hope you enjoy your games with them :)
Shouldnt this thread be for Asura Multi Rifle? So this IS the whining thread. There are plenty others for prising the new units. Just saying this be ause informations are already spread enough, I think.
