Bahahahahaha. You don't like kuang Shi do you? I don't know how anyone expects IA to not be highly optimised for limited insertion? How else will you fit in more than 3 heavy infantry in a list? If IA can field a 10 man list which brings tough specialists I actually think that's a niche not currently filled.
The Zhencha only compete with Daofei in vanilla, since it doesn't seem that we're going to get Daofei in the Invincible Army. And actually, I'd like a slightly cheaper camo+infiltrating HI for Vanilla. 10 points cheaper. Actually, 10 points cheaper would be awesome for Invincible Army listbuilding, too. Would allow you to run a lot of HI without necessarily going to 400pts. Tinbots. Gets you to an effective BTS9, minimum. Or models natively carrying Deflector L2 (instead of on a Tinbot), for the infiltrating/Forward Deploying types.
Kuang Shi won't be in the Invincible army sectorial or any other sectorial added to Yu Jing. And Kuang Shi doesn't change the fact that Yu Jing units are often not cost efficient. And no, I don't like the idea of suicide bomber prisoners being sent into battle. I will not miss them when I collect the Invincible army. IA will hardly be limited insertion only. I sure there will be some cheap troops for IA to take. The invincible army is far from the first elite sectorial in the game and they all have cheap options to fill out order pools.
So, I guess the zhanshi are the cheap cheerleader option for IA then. Is the more orange-ish paint job in the poster expected to be the new look for IA I wonder. I like it in the poster, but worry about Halloween colors jokes if I try to paint orange and black.
Every our guess is HYPING me seriously. Man! My life was good choosing Yu Jing. Finally I can wait for something new in this faction!
Mmm... aesthetically they are great (except the hospital robe guy) but I have serious doubts about the viability of a full HI sectorial. This game is all about non hackable/EMable cheap camos.
Well, that pic confirms my worst fears. Zhanshi in the IA. Hopefully they get a Securitate-style reworking to not be inefficient shit. 11 point regular orders are too high for a list relying on a bunch of HI. So we’ll see how that pans out next year. As for the units? The Liu Xing was expected but it’s nice to see the load out. MULTI is good for a frontliner. That CCW can either be indicative of MA or light CC investment (ugh), or it is what it is on the Daofei and merely a thing to let them model a sword-waving version at some point. No clue what will set it apart yet. Hopefully it has some rule to help it win firefights so it can be an efficient beater and not just a basic HI with deployment tricks. The Zencha is a pleasant surprise. Not heavily armed like the Daofei, but potentially quite cheap. Hopefully getting full camp, ambush or even TO since we could use more proper skirmishes. The Haidao seem like obvious engineer choices and link options for Zuyong. Could be quite interesting. But fancy toys aren’t the only thing the IA need. They need low and mid cost units so they aren’t stuck taking 10-man lists. Hopefully CB realize that and give their low end options a much needed boost.
I'd be stoked for a sectorial that can field a competitive LI list. It would be reliant on a HI hacker, engineer, and doctor of course for missions like highly classified. But imagine 10 models and 20 wounds? Even military orders can't do that! And I wouldn't have to paint many models!
Mood. Setting. Pop. It's frankly over-saturated. Yu Jing used to have a much more orange colour scheme. As in screaming orange. Got toned down to orangey-brown, and I think that's here to stay.
I personally prefer making single combat group lists. Have been getting good mileage out of them in the local meta too. Also, on the topic of hacker defense... has noone considered the possibility of the Zhencha having a KHD profile? 'Cause that'd certainly be a sollution of sorts.
Probably too expensive to risk getting into a hacking war with KHDs that are actually good at that. I'm assuming we as usual won't have access to the top end stuff like Lightning or repeater coverage to dig out enemy hackers, nor will we have a particularly good WIP stat to go with it. Which means engaging with them will both be risky and order intensive.
Good point. Only idea I have that can give us an edge in that regard would be for the KHD to have a native Deflector on it. ...kinda would be a great opportunity to improve the Shang Ji, perhaps even. Kill two birds with one power armored fist.
Honestly I prefer this approach. I don't play Yu Jing to play a heavy infowar game. It just doesnt play to our strengths (IMO). I'd much rather have troops with decent BTS, fairy dust, and tin bots. Just walk up to hackers and either ignore them or shoot them in the face. One of my favourite ISS combos is a Hsien haris with a TinBot and a Zhanying hacker. Drop fairy dust and you're almost unhackable. I'd love to see TinBots inherent in IA links.
