I actually disagree. We have seen many units undergo reworks, point adjustments and profile tweaking in response to a combination of player feedback, sales and representation in tournaments. "Salty PanO threads" have always been a meme but this seems to have now morphed into a feeling of being disenfranchised as well as the fact that many "faction weaknesses" seems to have all but erroded except for PanO, who seem to be stuck in the same design mentality since the inception of the game and have never had drastic reworks or interesting profiles as all other factions seems to be getting and not only are they getting cool new stuff, they are actually appropriating the last things that made PanO strong or SHOULD'VE made them good: CSU's, Drop Bears, Raul who is literally everything Kirpal Singh should've been or the Securitate, which is a prime example of how a unit with Veteran should've been as opposed to Bolts who are not only expensive but don't have access to a propper Lt. Rambo to milk that Veteran. Speaking of Bolts, they have now given other faction the mine dispenser weapon, which was actually a weapon the Bolts came with but was dropping under game testing cause it was deemed too powerfull on them. So really, this goes beyond the normal "boring PanO" critism that have long permeated the forums. I think it's perfectly reasonable for one of the biggest factions in the game to ask for Corvus Belli (on their own platform) to start taking their demands seriously and not be dismissed as trolls or laughed at. This is coming from someone who doesn't own a single PanO miniature and who started as a dirty Nomad.
Don't forget the mixed links of remotes+infantry, something on the old forums I kept suggesting for Bolts ;) I WANT to believe that CB has something up their sleeves that will radically change the dynamics of the Sectorials and the faction in one fell swoop...but history makes it hard for me to keep that hope alive when it comes to PanO.
Ok! so when is Varuna coming out and how is this going to help me as a NCA player, Should I drop NCA for Varuna?
Are those demands in line with what the developers have in line for this army? Do they fit the overall scheme? Do they balance between the overall faction and the sectorials? Or are they entirely out of whack with the designers vision? And the juxtaposition of "ask" for "demands" to be taken seriously beggars believe.
Well half the time I thought that DropBears are being "shot" not "thrown" untill someone pointed it out to me, and then I was "like wtf why would PanO make it a throwable weapon instead of the one using their superior BS" ?o0
Does the developers' "vision" for the faction clash with the reality of the game as it stands? Do those who come into the PanO forums to talk down at others have a vested interest in the faction? If you don't like this thread, then don't post in it or read it.
And what the heck are the designers vision for PanO ? Slap +1BS and Mimetism untill they ran out of the supply, or just create yet another "totally not Nisse but yea a Nisse" ? What paradigms of frikking "technologicly superior, proffesionional army" does PanO currently fullfill? Rambo CoC who either not work as CoC, or deliberly lands in most dangerous position ? Pointless and overcosted Combi+Assault Pistol combos ? Or being one of the factions with most limited access to "special" ammunitions ? Or mayby AVA1 Engineer "because PanO buys/makes new things instead of reparing them" (where is my 50 pts discount on Cutter then) ? Or PanO using it's own weapons instead of selling them to every other factions (Feubarach anyone?). PanO being a non-smoking faction, what other mechanic/gameplay can it have which is actually tacticly sound and also doesn't put you into "ups I made my opponent Retreat!" problem? The whole point is that PanO doesn't strike any particular tune, and players would love to see designers to give a damn and put at least a bit of effort and sweat into PanO units instead of slapping +1BS/Mimetism and calling it a day. (also less fackups on PanO units like Aquila, Seraph, Magisters would be nice ^^)
There are multiple posts in this thread that explain in detail why we're dissatisfied with PanO, what we'd like to see to make the army interesting and balanced while keeping a cohesive theme, and why we consider designer's vision to work like blinkers in our faction's case. Since we've more or less came to conclusion that CB doesn't have anything creative in line for us, any demand will be out of line.
No, it's you. You don't understand their vision of PanO and if you don't like it then there are always other factions or games you know ^^
I have NEVER understood this stance. Did people not read Campaign: Paradiso? P74 gives a great little story under "Activation Process". The fact that they went out of their way to fricking redesign the Panzerfaust rather than just add it to the Aquila Guard was flabberghasting to me.
I disagree, when a group of customers are not satisfied with a product that they love or enjoy, is not up to their satisfaction, then this is what you will get. it is up to the company to fix this or people will go somewhere else.
The basic gist of the story is a Tikbalang gets shot at in the jungle. As soon as its threat detectors register the damage, an automated request is sent back to the Machinists who forward a request for replacement parts to the logistics department. A team of Bagh-Mari get put into a dropship to go out and support the Tikbalang--whole process takes something like two minutes from start to ramps up. It really kind of hammered home the idea of just how professional and well-oiled of a machine PanO's forces should be.
Yeah, I remember this story. It does show how proper army logistics and command&control works. The whole purpose of our complaining is for CB to translate this to proper faction mechanics.
