Lunah was designed and released well before Aristeia! came out, whereas Dart is coming out in the midst of everything rocking and rolling.
Edit: Came out bitchier than intended. Lunah's design and lead time seems to have overlapped with Aristeia's enough that I'd call her the first one designed for both.
On the one hand i get your point. On the other, it seems like it will never the time to complain. I was pretty disappointed with the beyond boxes when haqq and nomads got the best of all fucking cakes and pano got... well nothing really. Yet at that time i was told "oh boy here is pano complaining again". A lot of people arent asking for the world, just stuff that feels like common sense solutions , for obvious problems. That never get resolved, and we know how receptive cb is of any idea you try to direct at them. Like it took almost an armed uprising to get the minor change on the techbee. And our suggestions about communication have been... funnily enough, not listened to either. We tried to literally make this a thread about not complaining, but it devolved into complaining becaus people showed up asking us why would we ever ask for fixes in a faction that was perfect and clearly unwashed imbeciles like us didnt know how to play.
Well, I mean OBVIOUSLY it's because we have +1BS. That justifies absolutely everything. Yeah, I think a lot of people underestimate the lead time on Aristeia considerably. Lunah was absolutely the first unit designed for both games. Yeah, I hear you on that. I mean, for me the "beyond" box was a Swiss I hate and a Kamau I won't use for at least months longer. Yeah, I think Varuna is the thing that will be instructive here. If that's yet another dead letter then it'll be hard for me to maintain passion for the wargame. But, thankfully I have the RPG and Aristeia! now. I know. I was there. That was a fight we should never have had to have. And it's not like we got something amazing even with having it. I know, and that's on them. I'm finding that liberal use of the "Ignore" function helps a lot.
About the timing: maybe people are so fed up seeing other factions getting FUN (not necessarily op or super competitive) things while they get yet another "+1 BS/Mimetism" or yet another "bland IP number 37352527" that all it takes to get them going is a minor thing like Dart's. It's not about Dart, it's about feeling left out, power creep, and tireness about seeing the same factions always getting the love. I don't even play PanO, but i do play YJ and i can empathize with how many PanO players feel (plus Uprising). Hard to swallow when you see creative and fun stuff released for other factions (fun is what a game is all about for me) while you are told to get bent and enjoy the trip; for me this realization came with NA release and their bazillion mixed links and specially with Tunguska (tho i must admit i was already pretty tired of Nomads encroaching on every faction supposedly defined "strong point" and doing it better) My suggestion is maybe change factions for a while, I'm currently excited for the Aleph release, although i must say my growind exasperation with the design philosophy still makes me picky with every single slip (like "hey, here you have this Asura you'll never play while we give Nomads balanced Mary Problems")
I already went full bore into Combined Army. I am only missing a handful of models from the range at this point. Even with the build issues that combined army can encounter it feels far more flexible in vanilla and its sectorials than much of Pano
Nomads lack leadership abilities. There is no CoC, Inspiring Leadership, Executive Order or Advanced Command. They get punished by Strategos. They have only 1 TO camo unit, and its not cheaper than YJ ninja. They have 1 MSV2 unit. Nomads have no holoprojectors. PanO has only had 1 reveal regarding their new Sectorial so far. Perhaps it wasn't exciting, but then again perhaps the new profiles were still being developed. The GenCon seminar usually previews the rest of the releases for the year, and Varuna is supposed to be released this year if all goes well, so we'll see if all the complaining is validated in a few days. As for YJ, I think it was a mistake to remove JSA without having the Invincible Army ready to launch. I think that might have prevented the msome of the resentment of losing a piece of the faction.
nomad players arent constantly hit over the head about being a regular army with strategic dominance either....
Having regular camo is still camo and it’s much cheaper than TO. It’s not a massive mod but it’s there and cheap and useful. Compare that to say smoke where you essentially have none outside of the worst smoke throwing unit in the game at a hefty price point. Nomads may not have the top of the line but thy have it and it’s effective.
So Nomads have no leadership abilities, oniy 1 TO and only 1 MSV 2 (incidentally one of the best of the game). In exchange, they get the best HI game, the best hacking game, and one of the best infiltrating/midfield game, plus all the curious things that make the game actually fun like the most and better characters. All of this for cheap usually. Seems legit. But this is about PanO.
Getting new, shiny sectorial won't help the old ones. SAA doesn't actually need it, it is fun to play, but MO really needs a refit and NCA is pretty bland. Plus there's the usual problem children sprinkled all around. Rao, Singh, Bolts, Teutons, F-K... This.
Dont forget crazy good cheerleaders, one of the best WB and viiiide accesss to various Engineer options :P Plus they do have one of the best TO-killers in game :P
But but but, they don't have CoC nor Holo!! That balances everything!!! Quick, someone do a list of everything Nomads have that the other factions don't, don't worry if it takes 2 post to list it all.
Only being pedantic here, but Musashi in Aristeia! outfit and design actually came out around 2-3 months before Lunah. Considering the development time for the game, the fact that he has the exact same CAD file and outfit, only with a different pose, as well as having the Aristeia! outfit in his design name, I would argue that by your own standards, Musashi is actually the one who was truly the first designed Infinity/Aristeia character. :)
