Not quite. Tohaa are a faction (there is no greater faction that they are a subset of), but in terms of design they are a Sectorial - so for variety of units, tactics, presence of Fireteams etc. they are effectively a Sectorial. They're never going to get the variety of units of generic Nomads or PanO, for example.
Sorry, I just had to :P As for the possible future Operation: the galaxy doesn't end on Human Sphere. Tohaa vs Shasvastii box would allow for exploring the conflicts beyond HS.
We don't even have to go beyond the Human Sphere for that kind of stuff...the Tohaa seem to be here to stay.
Hey Kan, that rumbling you felt after your first post was the vibrations caused by the stampede of all the delicate snowflakes rushing to update their ignore lists. Both the Tohaa and Bakunin are into some depraved biomancy. A box of these two fighting over rights to the latest abomination to escape from Praxis would be quite thematic. A Tohaa v. Shasvastii box would sell maybe 17 boxes.
I thought that was the chili... Bakunin has an updated starter set...Tohaa were close to 'the end'. Factions for updated/revised starters(no particular order): NCA Qapu Khalqi Shasvastii Corregidor Steel Phalanx Throw in NA2 starter or two and bam, we've got a few years worth of 2 player starters in there! Corregidor vs Steel Phalanx! NCA vs Shasvastii! Qapu Khalqi vs Druze!
NCA starter box is fairly new - the advent of Bolts. The Mil'Ord one on the other hand... Order sergeants could do with an aesthetic update to match the lovely SWC box.
It's important to note that the NCA starter set isn't actually new. The Bolts are the ONLY thing new in there. Everything else was repacked from blisters at the time. And you're right, Military Orders could use a new one too (although I thought we had rumblings of one?).
RE: NCA - they are older... But... The Hexa and Swiss are decent models. The Aquila, however, is tragic and should be burner. Especially when you compare it to captain trenchcoat - who is glorious. We've seen pics of a 300pt Mil'Ord box. From memory... Joan, Hospitallers, OS SWC box, the most recent Crusader sculpt and... maybe a Friar to bring it to 10 models? There's a reference in this thread (bottom of the 5th post by ECIU) https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threa...m-et-sequere-me-300pts-box-wip-08-07-18.1098/
300 point army packs aren't the same as actual starters, so I don't think that's the case. :P That said, while the Hexa might be "decent"...it could be way better. Same with the Swiss.
300pt boxes are collections of existing, sometimes older, minis. And if one lands it may mean a while to a starter. Then again, the boxes don't always have the six man starter set within the box. Corrigedor didn't.
And Bostria is on the record that they do not intend to include the starter sets in the 300pt boxes in future.
Yea Tohaa ! You wont get our <+1BS><Mimetism> units! Neither <MSV2><MSR> ones! We want pointless redundancy only for ourselfs! Combi+Assault Pistol, Combi+LSG too! You hear me Tohaa, nothing for you!
For the +1BS + Mimetism, we already have the Sukeul. It's so good we couldn't belive it when we saw the profile, many thought it was some kind of mistake. Also Veteran. And we have something better that Combi+LSG... we have the mighty Sakiel and its Light Rocket Launcher + Combi Rifle. Also pretty deadly is the Sukeul and her Missile Launcher + Light Shotgun
Yes, I do, I just wanted to point out how awesome Tohaa is (*), and remember everybody why the Sakiel LRL is so good: cheap 2-wound linkable killing machine all the way from 0 cm to 60 cm rangeband. (*) Despite been 8 months in a row witout any kind of release in the stores.
I think that a CA and Tohaa starter could be really cool, especially if it detailed events outside the Human Sphere. Explore a new star system, new conflicts, new background, maybe new stuff could be from that system! Then Humanity finds a new wormhole, and launches an attack against the CA, trying to take the offensive. That could be really interesting!
