So the new SZALAMANDRA model looks pretty tempting which made me wonder if nomads could run a double TAG list and still have all the tools one would want for trying to push buttons. I think this list manages to do it. Though I wish I could try doctor/paramedic highly classified objectives. I went with Engineer Tomcat over Doctor because I wanted to be able to fix Immobilized or Isolated Tags and Have some D-charges. It's probably possible, but what does the Lizard bring to the table apart from more damage. Sally brings enough firepower to have the second tag be not quite as powerful. Having an Iguana opens up Hacking shenanigans and the points to get some more specialists in there.
Yeah I don't see any point in a second TAG. To be honest, I would even prefer to put an Interventor and two Tsyklons for that points cost and they would do more. It seems that going fo two big TAGS seems more like a handicap than a bonus.
The second TAG let’s me try the massed armor tactics that @daboarder wrote for the PanO thread. The heavy grenade launcher is a huge asset according to his thread as it opens up an alpha strike against hiding & clumped up figures without requiring a lot of movement.

Kriza Borac is great but one less wound and 3 less armor mean it just isn't the same.
Take two TAGs if you want to but you're among the first explorers for Nomads so you won't have any guides! If that's discouraging or exciting depends on the type of person you are.
Its kinda weird to me that there has been so little experimentation with double TAG lists in nomads. It seems like pretty exclusively a Pano thing from where I am sitting. Despite this we have enough variety in Tags to pull it off, if only slightly more than barely enough, and we have really good engineer options. Its also a death sentence to try to posses one of our tags if they end turn in repeater range or are a repeater like the Iguana. I mean to try this out a bit with Iguana and the Szalamandra after I get it, but the Lizard is arguably better with the grenade launcher to get those pesky hiding units.
I’m happy to be an explorer I was using a Druze link team in N2 The only thing really holding me back from running the first list is I’d like to see an updated lizard sculpt.
I'd say you can make double TAG work in Nomad in a couple of ways. The first is double small. Two Geckos definitely works, and in a duo is quite strong. There have been myriad posts about this. Other than that, I think a Szalamandra and Combi-Gecko set-up would be good. Geckos are tough and give you loads of ARM 5 wounds for their cost. Stick that Gecko on suppression, it's a real roadblock against lots of stuff. The Szalamandra annihilates things at range, opens up a lane for the Gecko to advance down. The Gecko then can bully lighter troops and tear into order pools up close. Taking a Szally and a Gecko only comes up to around 140pts and that's not too bad in a faction where we have Jaguars for orders and smoke, cheap and fantastic specialists (Zero, Interventors, Clockmaker, Zoe+Pi-Well etc) and cheap warbands to provide close support against enemy assault troops (Morlocks, basically). Nomads are a stealth TAG faction. They have four TAG options, and those options are actually quite varied. They're also all good, even if personally I don't love the Iguana (I'd actually really just prefer it to be STR 3 and not have the ejection system). If Tunguska gives us a fifth one then I'd be really happy with it
So I am stuck with my first list. Getting a 4th Alguacil would be a problem. So I was thinking of swapping him for a transductor zond and upgrading one of the remaining 3 into a paramedic or forward observer. But that drops the number of LT decoys from 3 to just 1. Any advice?
I figured out a solution to my 4th Alguacil issue. Take a chain rifle jaguar instead. He still provides a regular order but he also gives me smoke and template weapon to be a second line of defense vs other warbands etc. should they get past the mine from my mine layer. If your problem is lack of miniatures, remember you can buy the Nomad Specops Blister, and use it legally as any kind of Alguacil or Moderador, meaning you can have a 4th Alguacil by paying 8-9 bucks.
That is a great point. I think i’ll go with the Jaguar though because the spec ops guy will look so different that he won’t help with the shell game enough & getting some smoke and a dogged chain rifle that can handle some choppy into the list for the same points cost is a big boon. While it won’t let me do the smoke trick because I don’t have a visor or sixth sense level 2 it will help bypass TR bots or nasty fire lanes.
This is true, but in the context of your list, I think that this is way less effective. You don't have enough orders to grenade spam and do anything else. I've played a lot of games against Squalos at 10 orders, and even using a TAG with a better BS it always seems like they can't do anything else once they've used 6 orders trying to snipe my stuff. I would only count the HGL on the Lizard as a real asset if you think you will have 2-3 orders every turn to spend on it. For that reason, I like your list with the Kriza a lot more.
In vanilla its very difficult to overlook the interventor lt as it can hide in marker state which offsets the obvious Lt problem. The HD+ is great for having those tags around (white noise)
True, and actually in these lists an Interventor Lt. might be even safer. Without a crazy repeater network players might not think chasing her/him down is worth it.
So I pulled the trigger and ordered everything I will need for the list. I also finished painting my Mobile Brigada and got good progress on my alguacil & HVT. Sadly I didn't end up with the double tag list instead choosing the later list using an intruder.
