When you look at them side by side, the Danavas is over-geared for its cost compared with the Interventor: +2 CC, +1 PH, Courage, Pitcher, Breaker Pistol and Maestro vs. +6 BTS (which only goes up in 3s, so is functionally two "boosts" to the stat), all for the same points. Sure the Interventor is "leaner" since CC and PH aren't exactly prime hacker stats, but bringing her own pitcher is huge.
Interventor is more streamlined into the hacker role, Danavas diversify a bit. With Courage and Pitcher being the most useful upgrades. As for Asura hacker: I'll be running her for sure. Even as Lt, since we're getting an in-house CoC.
Still calling it. We won't get a HD+ Asura with a multi rifle. We'll get a new profile for the new model that has an AHD instead. Everybody will be sad and cry a little.
So, what Spec Ops base profile are we likely to see? We can't just be left with Thorakite, so the Chandra Spec Ops has to expand somewhat to a new profile (unless we're getting Dakinis with XP).
Asura KHD, since the Hac Tao (another "cousin profile") got one. I bet the Deva, since the Sukra is too expensive and a CoC is not really the best Specops option (much less one of 30 pts). The Yadu I would discard (unhackable HI to all relevant effects), and Dakinis are not really the way to go. Of course, maybe an Apsara Posthuman, one that won't use the 1SWC profile.
Their might be an unrevealed troop type that can Spec-Op, but Deva seems most likely as she's just within the cost range of existing options (Deva is 23pts, Muyib is 24)
A MK1 or mk5 proxy would be kinda wild, though it requires you to take proxies to field your spec ops.
Is anyone even still doing SpecOps tourneys? They're super dead in Australia. The SpecOps rules need a massive overhaul - at the moment they just abuse Core Fireteam options and plug the hole of in-built Sectorial weaknesses. They are bad and should feel bad.
Not only that, in Madrid we had a "Campaign" tournament extra (7 points for Army developments and 7 points for Specops) that also was Limited Insertion at 400 points (I think... I'm sure of the Campaign extra, though), plus a non-ITS Campaign. Mind you, I think both the Campaign System and the Specops System needs an overhaul, since the current Campaign system, when not used in a "all players get X points", means "those who play well get an advantage, those who are not as good get a handicap". I'm twirling around a system about spending the points to modify next rounds ("buy" the extras, "select" the objectives, "pay for mercs", "pay for using a sectorial" -unless you only have a sectorial, ofc-, etc...), but it's a somewhat slow process.
We just did a 12pt Spec Ops tournament. Also is there still on speculation of what the Apsara does or is there a leaked profile at all?
The profile is in the Coldfront booklet, she has slightly above average LI stats but without knowing what her new version of Jumper does it's hard to do any meaningful speculation.
Oh interesting, thank you! I look forward to seeing what Jumper LZ is...my vedic have lived in my bag for...like a year now. Time to brush them off and take them out.
What do we think are the chances of getting a shukra blister at some stage? Pretty sure all the Vedic players not getting coldfront would buy that.
At some point, be it years later, he does have a Muli Rifle loadout. He's definitely a model i'd like to see again.
You will be able to get all models but one (I hope it was the Naga Sniper, but it could be the Yadu) as the new Aleph Starter, which will be the only source of Dakinis until a SWC box gets out (of which none exists atm).
