I suspect that is the case, but the dossier did not include and ADHL, so maybe not. I am very sure at any rate that CoC is just the rifle profile. CoC on the heavy weapons would just be too much. And anyway, CoC in Camo is really good! It frees up vulnerable but badass Ly options such as the Vet Kazak HMG (with that wonderful discounted SWC). Last Tankhunter note: the Autocannon is gonna look great arm swapped onto the new tank hunter. Magnetizing that asap Vassilly looks really interesting. A camo Lt with a long ranged weapon or a badass CoC model, either is cool. Sent from my SM-J320P using Tapatalk
CoC in camo will be so good. With it no reason not to take an active lieutenant (Vet Kazak HMG, the new TH officier) or even took the executive order version of Van Zant. The new TH lieutenant will also be very good. I usually take 2 Spetsnaz HMG and 2 TH in my list. By taking him instead of a TH, it will free SWC for a minelayer. I'm not sure of the frontovick in vanilla. I think he will see more work on TAK (all will depends on his weapon option)
I'm hoping the Frontys have some cheaper filler profiles, or they can mix with Line Kazaks, because ~25-30 points a model is steep.
Well, in TAK you will probably have option for Vet kazak in some link, so you are kinda loosing if you take him alone, and if you take him in link ,you are not benefiting of lt order. It's good for vanilla though. Btw, with 2 spetnaz hmg in my lists, I kinda lost reason to take tankhunters. No need for 4 'static' long range pieces. Not sure about your experiance? For 1W model it is, since in those range you are starting to find 2w HI models with 3 armor, bs13...
I can see them costed in the mid 20s, they have BS12 (expensive) plus Vet, Mimetism and T2 rifles by default (I think) This guy on top of that is an engineer, has an LRL, D-charges and an assault pistol That's a lot of gear
According to the design picture they will all have Assault pistol, knife and the basic guy will use a T2 rifle The SWC options appear to be AP Sniper, HRL and Molotok...... the LRL doesnt show....
I'm a vanilla player, so no FT option for me. TAK is here to make my vanilla even better Regarding the number of HMG : - TH are better than spetsnaz against heavy armor (strong HI and TAG). Aving an AP HMG is very often usefull - Ariadna heavy weapon are very crit/bad roll sensitive : with 1 wound and without real doctor (no cube/reroll), any bad roll end up with loosing an HMG. Then having spare is good - having 3 HMG allow me to have one for each major firelane, reducing the number of order lost in repositionning (as you say, they are static so the less I move them the better). - having 3 HMG allow me to use multiple successive surprise shot, then recamo in coordinated => good order efficiency - it's a small thing but having a back up D-charge in case the scout/uxia died before making it explode is always good Second TH is an autocanon, for ARO/antimateriel/very big TAG. He is the one I will replace with the new lieutenant TH
I just realized what Frontoviks reminded me of: Kaplans. Comparison with the Kaplan Engineer: Profile: - cube + 1 CC - 1 WIP - 6 BTS + Veteran Weapons: - Combi, pistol - ADHL + T2 rifle, Assault Pistol + LRL All that for + 6 pts and + 0.5 SWC. I‘m not sure if I really want the LRL to be on the engineer profile, but that will really depend on link options (harris?). In any case it’s probably a good guess to say that 4 pts and the 0.5 SWC are attributed to the LRL. So depending on the other load outs, we can expect a link team with a very similar price tag as the Kaplans. I didn’t see QK on the table for a while now, but Kaplans used to be one of the best link teams in the game. I‘d be really excited to see something similar for TAK.
Kaplans used to be good, but then came era of cheap 2w hi, and all sorts of mixed link team shenenigans. Not sure how they stand now? Mimetism is nice, though doesn't help you if some template catches your guys, who are also not very good at dodging and have 1w, and 0 bts if it's nanopulser. But models from shown will be great! Probably harris option too, maybe even some mixed link with someone. Vet kazaks must end in some mixed link, from the looks of recent sectorials.
Yes, templates are quite a weakness for this link. But on open tables and with sufficient skirmisher support it should be hart to get to them. And the engineer looks like an amazing specialist for a harris.
Taking in count what we have and what we have seen, I presume that we will face a sectorial that don't need any fire team to win the match. Has enough solo tools to do the jobs. Laika Dog-Girl Now
I just realized something: Strelok Ava is 2 on the BoW Screenshot and 1 in the coldfront 300 pts army, which features vanilla Ava for all we know. Seems like ava 3 in TAK wont be true..
AVA2 would make me sad... but it would be understandable, considering they don't want to push scouts out
The Frontoviks seem to be expensive, with streloks ava 2, regular orders are going to be a precious resource. They could be intended for mix links of veterans and line kazaks, core and haris. I expect maybe 3 new profiles more. The light bikes could be cheap and regular with the mine dispenser those make sense with the ava 2 streloks. Also vassily was not the only classic rpg kazak character if i remember well enough. I still hope for the rm-100 even if it seems a lost battle.
Then maybe they should have made them better. In vanilla I never saw reason to ever take scouts. Few times I took em they underperformed. Their price range makes em very very close to TO, even TO-NWI troops. Si it's kidna understandable that people are not too hot about em with other options at their hands.
The archaic TAG that got a short blurb of fluff in the old rulebook. It's a boxy almost BattleTech-looking thing.
The RM-100 is the Ariadna Tag, it showed up way WAY back in older artwork, likely an ancient concept piece that people speculate may get revived with the TAK release.
