All the reasons I've listed are valid for sectorial. Add to this presence of fireteams for good support. As for MSV3 - I prefer to go Sensor/Snifferbots route, but autodiscover can be worth its price in gold, if you're tight on orders. From my PoV OSS shapes to be a Nice Nomad Mothership you've got there. Would be a shame if anything happen to it... sectorial.
The reasons you listed before are irrelevant if we look in comparison to vanilla. Fireteams would be a valid reason, but a limited one. Unless these fireteams are magically good, I don't see a reason to run Marut in OS instead of just running it in vanilla. If you are tight on Order, Discovering (auto or not) is already not spending those Orders well. Yes ^^
They're expensive, but I think they'll be perfect for the Alpha Strike role. Move up the field, deploy some mines, kill a unit or two, enter SF, force enemy to spend his orders to dig you out while your fireteams and other assault units prep for second wave assault. @Nemo No Name: Let's agree to disagree. It looks more like "vanilla vs sectorial" discussion, than anything that concerns Marut herself :)
I disagree that it is a wider question of "vanilla vs sectorial", because in this case the only question is presence of Smoke in sectorial. But yeah, let's call it agree-to-disagree on the usability of Asura and Marut in sectorial without Smoke.
Has Sucker Punch changed or something, I thought it was a burst 1 version of Redrum, i.e. inferior in every way to a program already available to the KHD?
Or a more brute force version of a Bulleteer. TAK in general looks like a nightmare to play against if you're either into heavy troops or Haqq healing. T2 everywhere and then some... See, this is the point I disagree with completely. Since I'm used to play without Smoke - hey, PanO - I play Marut exclusively for her other strengths. Like using Strategos L3 with Posthumans. Or brute forcing my way so more fragile troops can follow. Or placing a very tough and dangerous roadblock/bait. Or guarding against enemy Smoke users. For me those are all valid arguments to take Marut without Smoke in sight.
Well, is Damage 16 DT ammo, a powerful hacking ARO that can kill a hacker in a moment. The profile is good, it's a pseudo-HI specialist that comes with CAP-free Haris. I cannot wait to see the Fireteam options for the Sectorial. Regarding the rest... - Very good combat REM, I'll use it a lot. It's durable, can be improved from far away thanks to Repeater (try to dislodge that in the middle of the board in SF)... - Adromeda gains D-Charges and deploys a little further for 1 point more. Nice improvement, but still a Silhouette too big for a stealthy, infiltration specialist. Sad to find they didn't ditch the Guardian rule and replaced it with Martial Arts. - WTF is Jumper:LZ?
Yeah Well I think you are missing my point. I'm not saying it is not viable to play Marut without Smoke - done it myself plenty of times, or simply lost Smoke before I could use it and Marut together. Or even had Smoke but not used it due to any number of reasons. However, if you are building a competitive list, and you want to use Marut in it, then you have a choice: take Marut in sectorial without Smoke or vanilla with Smoke. And when you take Marut, you build list around it - it is not something you take as an addition to your list. Vanilla at the moment looks like it will provide everything sectorial does, with exception of Fireteams. On the other hand, in sectorial not only do you lose Smoke, but also cheap warband units for CC / close-in protection. Of course, if it turns out Fireteams are that amazing (which I doubt), or if there is something else major provided only by sectorial my impressions might change. But at the moment, it makes no sense to take Marut in sectorial. It's same as Redrum, which is B2 and provided by KHD natively.
Yup, you're right. Really weird... maybe it's a typo and they intended to put there another Upgrade program, like Maestro or Goodnight?
I fully agree with the bolded part. To be honest, for now we have only one option - to field Marut in vanilla. If we're discussing her value in vanilla vs sectorial then we're doing it without full data. Let's wait for OSS to hit, so we can see if sectorial options outweight access to Myrmidons.
Yay Vet Kazak with BTS 4... On a serious note, the old TAk stuff looks good as ever, the new additions are interesting, even though I was suprised to see the frontoviks as LI, I thought they are MI. So either no MI link in TAK or Tankhunter get the Scots guard treatment or something completely new... also, why does ALEPh get the mine dispenser earlier then TAk does :P
