Vet kazak wins as long as mimetism isn't being ignored. Personal opinion - dual molotok Redjack is bad, the only really threathening thing in there for the cost is the double panzerfaust. But that is both situational and only usable twice. Ariadna (and especially TAK) has little trouble leveraging enough AP to handle high armor threats, and the vet kazak is better at shooting virtually anything. The HSG + HRL Redjack sounds decent because it is so expendable. It is hard to take out a 3 wound unit that decides to charge through until your lines, unless he hits a Assault Hacking Device on the way. And once he is on your lines, a heavy shotgun is enough to make a mess. The most interesting part of the unit right now ( before we know what the hammer does ) is actually minesweeper. You have a very offensive unit that can actually turn mines against your enemies. I know my nomads would hate something like that, since a lot of my speed bumps used to be mines. RIGHT NOW, however, I wouldn't mind it as much because of how prevalente jammer hecklers have become in my list.
That is a shame. I would have assumed (perhaps wrongly?) that they'd be past playtesting at this stage, I'm not sure what the motivation is for delaying their release. Either way, the profiles for the GC stuff--at least--will be available, so there's nothing stopping us from building sectorial-themed Vanilla lists.
Cold front is a starter set for beginners to pick up the game. Because bostria and all the pictures alluded to that at the start of the week. :/ too many hopes there
Actually I tried the ratnik once and here are my initial thougts: Is a HI that don't give a fuck about viral (not much at least), beter ARO than spected and a little toolbox. He has no mimetism, but thank to his ARM6 can get busy many orders of the oponent in reactive. And in active has enought tools to be a pain in the ass. The weapons give him another range of action, maybe veteran could look better, but when you are going rambo, the range bands ends upp better to catch more hiden enemies. Also remember that the Molotok profile has 4 (FOUR!) shots of D14 AP+EXP, just in case you need to deal with something nasty in the long range. It seems like his niche will be in some point between veteran(HMG) and blackjack(T2 Sniper).
I'm well aware of that; it is also aimed at existing Infinity players who are eager to get their hands on the shiny new sculpts and have been waiting for these two sectorials to drop for some time now. There's no way to know for certain, but I have a sneaking suspicion the majority of its initial sales will be to existing players. And, as the last few comments demonstrate, we had reasons to think the sectorial rules would arrive at GC. Soooooooo--and I really don't mean to come off as rude here--what was your point?
No, that was the reason. No point, statement of fact =]. The box set are the vanilla factions because it's a starter pack, and it's being pushed out as such. Being one of those existing players who are eager for shiny sculpts and sectorials i'm with you on wishing it different... who knows, maybe it'll come sooner that we fear.
Sorry but, uh, no EXP, just AP. And dam 13 (unless I missed that it has Fatality). But hey, its actually 5 shots, so that's nice! It seems like a nice ARO profile with one Ratnik and a good anti trooper piece with the other. As a sometimes Tohaa player I appreciate durability. I also think people are under rating mine layer because A: stealing netrods/imetrons is fun and B: the faction has very efficent Antipode sensors to reveal mins with ease AND a unit that will be close enough to sweep them without wasting orders to move up just for that purpose. One thing I had not taken in consideration of the Molotok Ratnik - It is basically a Gecko. Stick it in cover and suppressive in the middle of the field and it can be a *lot* for the oponent to take on. And due to its rangebands and panzerfausts, there is no safe way to simply ignore it. I still think it is a tad too expensive, but it gives TAK and Ariadna one thing that they had a bit of trouble before - putting something that must be dealt with in the middle of the field and that is not trivial to actually do. The big star from the starter are the Streloks, imo. Shell gaming with mine, ambush camo, smg, t2 profile is mean...
Oh yes, I dearly hope they have increased AVA in TAK because between that t2 marksman rifle, minelayer, antipode, and shotfun specialist I will be very hard pressed to find one combination over others
S.A.S Vainilla AVA: 2 Chasseurs Vainilla AVA: 2 Foxtrot Vainilla AVA: 3 Hardcase Vainilla AVA: 2 S.A.S Sectorial AVA: 4 Chasseurs Sectorial AVA: 4 Foxtrot Sectorial AVA: 4 Hardcase Sectorial AVA: 3 we can safely assume that Streloks will go to 3/4 in TAK
3 Streloks with Antipode 2 Assault packs 3 Dog warriors 1 Voronin. Around 200 points, and I can still bring 8 or so line Kazaks to do objectives. Thats gonna be real fun. For me anyway, not my opponent. Sent from my SM-J320P using Tapatalk
