As someone from Spain I'm surprised that so much people around the world loves fried chicken so much.

I don't understand the obsession with chick-fila. Every time i have had it the chicken was soggy and the bun was crushed. The only thing i can see is people love it so much because they want to be seen eating "christian" food.

If you ever need a giggle look up wendies twitter trolls of the other fast food companies tweets. They are classic

Places get popular and their food gets lionized beyond its actual quality. Chipotle is basically warm and salty mush but it was trendy.

As for why Chick-fil-a is trendy, I think it is because it is based and not because it is specifically "Christian". One side of the culture war got waaaaaaay too authoritarian, and is now literally getting what they were asking for but were not *actually* wanting. Actual diversity. Chick-fil-a is based and doing their own thing (i.e. actual diversity), they get attacked for not conforming by the diversity (read: conformity) police, and the population in general is sick and tired of the diversity police and they are like: Oh yea? Well I LOOOOOOOOOVE Chick-fil-a because they are a perfectly decent fast food restaurant doing their own thing and won't bend the knee to your dictates.

Doing your own thing, and not apologizing to the scolds for it, is the new popular. So good news for CB since their entire business is about them having their own artistic vision and pretty much sticking to it.

As best as I can tell KFC Australia isn't releasing anything special in August. Anybody else got anything?

I feel like the Chick-fil-A issue was entirely between people who don't eat there. There's plenty of people who the owners would be perfectly happy to have gone who are like I'm never giving this stuff up no matter how bad it gets.

Personally, I've eaten there once and didn't care for it. We have Chicken Shack here and that's the hit shit imo

Wait, so, the August Releases are the Coldfront stuff, right?

So,should we begin speculating on the September releases?

Like, will we see Grenzers? Securitate SWC? Puppetmasters? Raoul or Perseus or Mary Problems?

And what about the other four or so slots? Those Streloky or Frotnikky thingymajigs . Something Alephy. Something Tohaa? Maybe one of the other armies that no one memes about? Something repacked?

Personally I love the optimism of nomad players. Every other faction waits years to see highly requested releases, Nomad players are like 'we have had the profiles for 3 months, that means the model is here any day now'. Looking at you Teqeul.

You misspelt 'realism'. It's better than even odds that the main new Tunguska boxes drop before the Sakiel box does.

You know, I always thought the redneck stereotype of black people loving fried chicken was bizarre.

Doesn't everyone everywhere love fried chicken? I always thought the 'broadcasting vegans' are so insufferable because they're trying to not think about how much they miss fried chicken.

    Back back to August releases:

This may be a severely unpopular opinion but I think having S5 sillhouettes in the big boxes are 'economically' unfair to the player picking up the other box. Because 9/10 times the cost of the box is going to get evenly split with whoever gets the pre-order bonus and paper terrain paying more (that's what I've done in the past). Also some people buy the whole box for themselves just like you'd get a fried chicken family meal for just yourself - no judgement (Ok, some judgement). But the S5 having faction's product cost is significantly higher than the other because of the fat lump of metal...

I know this might be all relative. Maybe the Dakini's in this instance take more metal/production cost than the TAK line trooper so ultimately the boxes all balance out to roughly the same production cost. But the fact that the kriza loadedTunguska starter is notably more expensive than all the old vanilla starters has me wondering...

Im not so sure, yea I quoted the tohaa but look at Ramah. We have had the updated khawrji profiles since the start of this season, we have had the updated Zhaden since red veil, still no boxes. There is a case with every faction where the sectoral dropped (i know not ramah yet) and it was a year before all the models were filled out (USAriadna comes to mind), meanwhile people think every single release for Tunguska is before the year is out and I just don't see it happening. Never objected to being wrong though

So what you're saying is that it's like splitting a Zinger Box: someone gets a Burger and Wicked Wing the other person gets 2 Wicked Wings?

Funnily enough though, it's real market cost that is most relevant, if me and you split the box for say $50 each, but my half nets $40 on the resale market and your half nets $80 on the individual resale market then I've screwed myself cause I could have had the $100 box for as little as $20 by buying my own and selling your half of it off piecemeal.

And honestly, I'm way more excited for twinned Molotok Ratnik than HRL Ratnik, and both are in price ranges that have me doubting how often I'll use them. Shotgun scout is fun with his shock templates but ultimately skirmishers have to fight with their specialist counterparts for list space, I don't see many people opting for AP rifle tankhunter as is, it's a decent LT but a scout saves you so much SWC for just a few points, Vet Kazak is probably okay in terms of desire.

on the other hand, CoC Shukra enhances some fun LT options for vanilla and is super desirable, Yadu brings great new tools and I think the drop bear profile will be integral to Yadu Haris, Deva Hacker is not unpopular among Neoterran players to get a WIP 15 specialist in the low WIP faction and will probably see his individual resale stock rise as a result.

The net result is, I think if two players split the box, instead of each buying their own and reselling the stuff they don't want on the free market, it's the Ariadnan player who gets the big lump of metal who is really losing out.

This is super interesting. I was definitely only considering it from the perspective of costs vs what you're getting as I'm not one to resell minis from boxed sets. Looking at it the way you do certainly puts a very interesting twist to the formula though. The implicit assumption is that the players splitting the box are existing players of those same factions and not using the boxes to branch into a new faction. I guess its pretty hard to gauge how common it is to split a box to expand your existing forces vs to buy into a new force.

    edit:

Thinking further though, lets talk about what the box is (apparently) supposed to be used for. Which accordingly to CB is to introduce/encourage new players to the game. Hence the rulebook which simplifies rules and gradually brings them to the ITS world.
In that context, the non-S5 faction is still getting the short end of the stick as they're paying extra to feed the other guy the zinger burger.

Yeah, true, for new players it's probably insurmountable as a feeling.

But then, the other day I got a set of wicked wings so big and juicy that I would have happily given my friend the zinger in a split.
