No way for anyone to know that before the rule is published Long discussion about how NCO force the yadu to leave FT or not would be cancelled if CB add a single line in NCO saying it can be used in FT (or not) I agree with that. Well used, I think she could be very good at making unopposed roll, either with the silent bow in ZoC or with the SMG out of ZoC. With her skill set she will be very good at cleaning midfield to opent the way for big offensive piece like Achilles or Drakios to rush the opponent DZ
Sorry, I felt it would be fairly straightforward, but I see your point. I take it as the NCO can use the Lt order - because Strategos 1 is the domain of actually changing the Lt order into a different kind of order during the initial step of your turn.
Changing the order "for everyone", the Yadu (and only THAT HMG-toting, 2SWC costing profile) just changes it for herself. I see it as an inverted Strategos, ideal for some aggresive units. We shall see, anyway, and it very well may be that the HMG Yadu is not geared for Fireteams, so you either go with a Sukra Strategos Lt, or a Dakini HMG as Fireteam vanguard.
Can we please not have the exact same discussion on NCO they are having in the august thread here. Lets stick to the other stuff
Wouldn't have a clue what their discussion is - haven't seen the thread :P Dying to know what, if any, adjustments have been made to Dakinis.
So is anyone thinking of using the yadu as a duo? I am tempted by an assault hacker and standard multi myself due to range of targets, Heavy infantry you have AP and hacking, Hackers and infilitrators you have drop bears for intuitive attacks and a good ol shotgun burst. Drop some mines infront of a link team and then run round the corner with the shotgun or multi rifle target depending. The yadu seem very versatile. Maybe keep the dakini fire team asa good long range option?
Bostria mentioned that Yadu are guys that go onto other links. That might be interesting. For the new profiles: Shukra looks good. A bit vulnerable for the cost, but it is great to have CoC in the army. Biovisor would be great, except that you probably don't want to get your CoC / Lt hunting impersonators. I think it is a fine unit overall. Yadu feels a bit meh. It is low tier HI without a real second wound but without hacking vulnerability. It is priced decently, but I am not sure it is worth using over a Marksmanshiped Dakini or such. Depends a *lot* on what their linkability looks like. I feel that is might be great point to be actually - a unit that might be good in the sectorial because it covers things that the sectorial needs, but does not look like a auto-include on vanilla. Dart is ridiculous. EM + Visor + camo + ap/shock ammo + 2 wounds + climbing plus to be unreasonably hard to reach.... she cleans up skirmishers like it is no one's business, and is a fair threat to anything due to the ammo choices. Keep in mind that the viral bow is mostly bloat.
Bostria was pretty clear that they're a replacement for the existing Dakini. That doesn't means we're not going to see the profile revisited like with Asuras, Securitate, and Keisotsu.
I disagree on the viral bow being bloat. It is situationnal, but it can be very handy, and Dart has all the tools she needs to make use of it. And contrary to ninjas, she has another ranged weapon for standard situations. Are you in the front of a trooper ? Use SMG. In the back ? Use SMG if no other troops around it, bow otherwise to avoid troop facing.
Thinking further on Dakinis, they currently have 3 SWC weapons, MSR, HMG, and LGL. An SWC box is usually 4 bodies, we have seen a couple of Paramedic sculpts recently (Bolt, Volunteer) but those are 1) Superfluous as you can use the 3 standard models, and 2) not from SWC boxes, instead from a Beyond Box and a Starter. However we did recently get the Keisotsu box with special guest star MSV Kempeitai, so could we see a Dakini box feat. Davanas or Yadu? Of course, this is all assuming we don't get a new Dakini profile with a Feueueuerebach, missile launcher, or something.
I doubt it, I think it's more about the new looks. The profiles in the box look like the old ones (minus several parts that are removed for balance and introductory values). Bow is Burst 1... SMG is Burst 3. The bow is bloat, unless you *need* that Silent killing or you are AROing in the pistol good range. Plus she can go Sup Fire, unlike the Ninja. Mind you, I've heard she was initially designed to *not* have the SMG (2-3 pts cheaper). Her Aristeia! "Skin" is so much like DC's Speedy, however, I was expecting more melee from her xD
The reason i said smg is that if there are no opponent they can alert you have better chances to hit/wound with burst 3 vs change facing than bow B1 vs no reaction (delayed) EDIT: Quick test vs a fusilier, <20cm, from behind, no cover SMG Active Player 77.49% Custom Unit inflicts 2 or more wounds on Fusiliers (Dead) Failures 16.39% Neither player succeeds Reactive Player 6.12% Fusiliers Dodges Custom Unit Bow Active Player 63.80% Custom Unit inflicts 2 or more wounds on Fusiliers (Dead) Failures 36.20% No success
Does a fusilier have 2 wounds? You only need him in a null state, not dead specifically. Also, removing the ability to ftf ( against supressive fire, for example) makes her great to clear up glass cannons and cheerleaders with it rather then the SMG.
The bow for Dart is both a psychological and ARO tool. Plenty of units would gladly walk into an SMG shot and not care, but not a Viral shot. As a Camo gal too, you won't always want her Suppressing. Given Climbing Plus, her best defensive asset is sitting prone on the roof of a building in Camo state. The bow gives her a lethal high-accuracy ARO if someone climbs up there to get her.
