Speculo in Onyx Now!

Onyx has more subterfuge than Morats.

 

I mean, yes, they have some of the best pieces in CA. Which is plenty for a straightforward sectorial.

 

I kind of feel like part of Onyx's problem, and this is me looking in as an outsider, is that a lot of it's cool stuff is from another Sectoral in the CA range.

So really rather than give Onyx the Speculo, which is admittedly awesome, I'd rather that Onyx got some sweet new stuff which is unique to OCF. Either another Sygmaa, or an Urkherit, or hey an entirely new alien combatant? There's lots that could be done to give Onyx a little more edge and variety than another random Morat or Shas troop type.

 

Onyx is like a "best of" force, where they don't get all the best things, just some of them.

 

I agree. If they got all the shiniest toys, then there'd be zero reason to play vanilla.

 

This is the reason I don't think we'll ever see an "Aspect Sectorial" either. I think it's a pretty good idea to keep Aspects as part of Vanilla only. Trade Aspects for Fireteams if you want, but you can't have both.

 

Really the only realistic changes I’d make to Onyx is getting Suryat Haris and makreep Haris, removal of the LT SWC tax on the rodok, makreep, legate, suryat, reduction of the malignos LT SWC tax.

 

Can i ask for eclipses too?

 

While we are at it, can i ask for a couple of billions euro?

Oh, and with all those CoC and Strategos at ALEPH now, can OCF have Mnemonica or CoC?

 

I like the idea I heard that Nexus shouldn't have had Lt options, just CoC.

I don't think they're going to update older sectorials with new rules - they want the new sectorials to be more interesting so that they sell the new models.

 

I would love to run an Umbra Lt. without fear of LoL using my aggressive Lt. while being aggressive

I know its a silly list but I'd probably downgrade one of the rodok combi to just a BS and upgrade the umbra to a sami spitfire. That way you can eat people while your being all aggressive.

 

That's a good idea, too. The list IS silly, but these are the kinds of things I like to try to get good woth sometimes. It's an uphill battle but is loads of fun to see what happens.

 

Onyx may lack the Speculo but we do have the Manglnos w/ Mono Mines. Those are still pretty sweet.

 

Malignos are amazing, but the expense is hard to get over. I'm spoiled by foxtrots and such.

Wanting to have at least 1 of each type of Umbra isn't helping the budget, either.

I wish there was good reason to take 3 or 4 Umbra, since they're ava3 each and, imo, the most sinister and evil of the aliens, which is enormously fun, but I can't really find a way to integrate that many into different plans.

 

I like it, I think I'm going to give it a shot this week. Thinking about it The umbra is a good aggressive piece because of forward deployment
