The 44 points - heavy rocket launcher looks quite good. How does dogged work with low tech? You activate dogged after the first wound and avoid going into battle ravaged at the cost of dying or only after you lose the second wound? The double Molotok double panzerfaust for 54 seems a bit expensive? The 24-point Strelok with antipode looks better than I initially expected. Really cool for uncovering mid-table camos. What the devil dogs would have wanted to be. The 20-point FO option looks pretty decent too
I did a quick count of how crazy our shell game is now : Hardcase shotgun : 12 points, AVA 2, 2 camo marker Chasseur minelayer : 20 points, 0,5SWC, AVA 2, 2 camo marker Streloks antipode: 24 points, 0,5SWC, AVA 2, 3 camo marker So, for 112 points and 2 SWC, you put 14 camo markers in the mid-table, 4 of which have shotgun, 2 have flammer, 2 are mines and 2 are antipodes EDIT : strelok minelayer is limited to TAK so I corrected my count As a Vanilla Ariada player, I already fel we could go very far in our shell game, now we can go crazy. I can now easyly build list with 16 to 20 camo marker (with 13-15 regulars order and 2/3 heavy weapon). I don't know how good TAK will be but playing Shell Game with vanilla will result in a lot of sensor drones in the opponent armies PS : I'm a big fan of the 54 points ratnik. Burst 5 molotok can bring down anything and with all our camo and long range and sensor, cleaning the way for him is much than doable.
Ok so I take the 20 points forward obs instead and get "only" 12 camo marker for 104 points/1SWC. I can live with that. My opponent... not so sure Simple test : Ariadna ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 8 1 SPETSNAZ (CH: Ambush Camouflage) HMG / Pistol, CCW, Knife. So running the numbers through infinity calculator, it seems the T2 MMR Strelok deletes any non-2W+Valor infantry unit on about a 50% chance on its surprise shot, with degrading performance as your opponent has more defensive mods... Seems good? My favourite is the roll off against neurocinetics Yan Hao, where the Strelok has a 37% change to drop him..
Not sure it's a problem. With layered and well-spaced deployement, only mine and ambush are easily accessible. Any drone coming to put sniffer closer thant that will get killed by mines or ARO shots. Not knowing who is a camo marker worth of detection, who is a fake and who is a mine (or a hardcase) that will kill your drone make deploying sniffer a lucky shot at best Also, lot of potential in limited insertion, where detecting camo is even more costly and where each ambush hide the Van Zant coming from your back.
Right on the unit aesthetics, wrong on the BTS, right on forward deploy, right on the cheap SMG and specialist profiles... 4 out of 5 ain't bad :D Where is my character dog-warrior CB!?!?
Streloks are going to be a source of stress for me If they're not at least AVA4 in TAK I might just go bald trying to decide which profiles to take
Streloks are the unit I was hoping we'd get as a low cost skirmisher in TAK. I was dreading giving up the foxtrots and Chasseurs. Now I'm happy, especially for the antipode profile. Do yall think Frontnoviks are going to be camo less tankhunters for the most part? Kinda like the 1st and 2nd Scots Guard.
Stretloks - someone pick up that phone because I CALLED it o7 As an aside - I like how CB are making new models with sectorial-specific profiles (e.g. the TAK's K-9/Minelayer & the Strategos Lvl1 Shukra Consultant in OSS). It's a smart way to give CB the freedom and flexibility to create new profiles without buffing Vanilla armies as a bleed-on effect. As a player, I couldn't be more pleased with this move from CB. It's a strong commitment to keeping the game balanced, and shows that while CB is creating all these new sectorials, they are keeping in mind a holistic view of the game.
what does the Ratnik with the heavy shotgun need a heavy pistol for? One might assume that the thunder hammer is better in close combat.
Thunder hammer with cc 14/12 will not really help you in almost any case if it comes to cc. Anyone who wants to come to cc will murder you, anyone who does't wanna come to cc, you are better off shooting him in face than walking into cc to swing that mighty 1 hit with cc 14/12...
